Angels & Demons (2009)

Corrected entry: The Vatican Archive is portrayed as a super-sophisticated complex of sealed chambers with controlled oxygen levels, and hallways that stretch seemingly far into the distance. As a quick visit to the Vatican website reveals, the Archive facilities are considerably more mundane and humble, looking much like an ordinary university store of old records and other literature.

Correction: These archives are meant to depict the Secret Archives. It is possible that the Vatican has a secret archive room that no one has been in that looks like that.

Angels & Demons (2009)

Corrected entry: After the cylinder is stolen from CERN, Vittoria explains that it is filled with a "highly combustible material": antimatter. Combustion is a chemical reaction, whereas matter/antimatter annihilation is a much more basic sort of quantum mechanical interaction. A layperson might make the mistake of referring to it as combustion, but a professional physicist never would. A more accurate word would be "volatile".

Correction: However, she is trying to explain this material to lay people. I believe she meant combustible as explosive. As in if the battery died then the resulting explosion would be catastrophic.

Angels & Demons (2009)

Corrected entry: A news reporter at the end reports that three Cardinals were found dead in a burning church (where one of them was burned earlier). However, since the conclave was already in the process of electing a Pope for some time before the fire, all Cardinals would have been inside the hall in the Vatican where the election was held.

Correction: Did you miss the majority of the movie? HE KIDNAPPED 4 cardinals BEFORE conclave started. They postponed the start of conclave hoping to get them back. The Vatican was simply covering up that the other cardinals had bad endings.

I love a charade - S5-E8

Corrected entry: When Charlotte and Harry are dancing at the wedding reception, he tells Charlotte that he 'has to marry a Jew'. We later learn it was a promise he made to his now deceased mother. But we also know that Harry has been married before, as he told Charlotte he lived in the bachelor pad when he was going through his own divorce. His first wife must have been a Jewish woman, since he feels he has to marry a Jew and promised it to his mother. So Harry has already married a Jew, fulfilling his promise to his mother. The promise wouldn't likely extend to two wives! So his telling Charlotte that he has to 'marry a Jew' doesn't make logical sense for his character, since he has already been married to a Jew, and it wouldn't matter what religion his second wife would be. (00:27:35)

Correction: Yes maybe. I took the promise as "when I marry, I'll marry a Jewish woman." Obviously his mother didn't intend on having Harry divorce. He can interpret it how he likes.

Twilight (2008)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Edward pops the ding out of Bella's truck, he has first jumped onto the roof of the truck and startled her. After they talk, he leaves, and gets in his car which is right next to her truck, so she would have seen him drive up.

Correction: I thought she was being surprised that he jumped on her car. Not a very "human" thing to do.

Twilight (2008)

Corrected entry: On Bella's first day at Forks High, the class sequence goes Gym, lunch and Biology. On the day Edward returns to school, Bella walks into Biology and Mike says hello, dripping rain on her from a hat as though it's first period. She would have already seen him in gym and lunch, and she would have seen Edward at lunch. (00:06:50 - 00:16:20)

Whisper292

Correction: It could have rained in between classes. Maybe Mike came to school late that day. Also some schools have rotating periods that changed throughout the week.

The Ninth Gate (1999)

Corrected entry: Corso is sitting on his bed in the Sintra Hotel and he notices the cloth (which he had wrapped the book in before he hid it behind the mini-bar fridge) lying on the floor. It makes no sense that after pulling out the mini-bar fridge from the cupboard to find the book, the thief would have bothered to put the mini-bar fridge back and the tray of glasses etc. back on top, then close the door of the cupboard, especially as they discarded the cloth on the hotel room floor before they left the room.

Correction: It's likely they intended to keep the book wrapped up and it came off without them noticing.

Corrected entry: After Phantom has killed Buquet, Christine and Raoul run several floors up to the roof of the opera house. They are both singing, and Christine is wearing corsets, but when they get to the roof, neither of them is out of breath.

Correction: So she is in really good shape.

House, M.D. (2004)

Living the Dream - S4-E14

Corrected entry: During the scene where House opens the door of the limo to escort Brock into the hospital, he explains that his reading speed has slowed from 2.1 to 2.9, which is an increase not a decrease.

Correction: He means the time taken to read a line - he's taking 2.9 seconds rather than 2.1 seconds.

Corrected entry: Carrie dyes her hair a deep brown colour after leaving Big, but towards the end of the movie, she is back to her original multi-coloured, unkempt hair, which is the same as the start of the movie. It is almost impossible to go back after a dye job to a previous colour, especially one like Carrie's.

Correction: No it's not. It's expensive and pretty harmful to your hair to do that much work on it. But not impossible, it happens everywhere.

Corrected entry: Bond and Wai Lin should have had one hell of a bend or an embolism when they popped up out of the water after diving on the Devonshire. Not only did they unnecessarily ditch their diving gear (they could have just pushed the tanks in front of them to get up that pipe) but they had an uncontrolled ascent from well over 30 metres depth. Yet they show no signs of any decompression illnesses and carry on as normal when they reach the surface. Impossible.

Correction: If they have not been under for very long, then they might not get decompression sickness (the "bends"). And it is possible to exhale the entire way up to avoid a pneumothorax or emboli.

27 Dresses (2008)

Corrected entry: Kevin and Jane are in the bar soaking wet after the car swerves off the road. Kevin is seen tossing his jacket over the chair saying, "We are in East Deliverance New York," but back in the car in the rain he said his Spidey vision wasn't working when they passed the road sign.

Correction: The East Deliverance reference is from a 1972 movie named 'Deliverance' about characters who take a trip into back-woods America where they run into trouble. It is a reference, not the name of the city.

Corrected entry: In the scene when the soldiers sneak into the plane, they go through heavy turbulence. With the whole plane shaking, the main terrorist decides to go into the cockpit. On his way up he picks up an Uzi from a trolley or something. The point is that the weapon was just lying there, in perfect reach for passengers and flight attendants. Not very professional to let your guns lie around.

Correction: Professional or not, character mistake.

Dirty Dancing (1987)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Johnny breaks the car window, it's raining like crazy but the sun is shining brightly. It's seemed incongruous since I first saw the film in the 80s.

Correction: They are called sun showers. Common enough. At least in the states.

Cloverfield (2008)

Corrected entry: When we see the rebar stuck in Rob's girlfriend, you can see the rebar moving up and down with her breath. The only way to get it out of her was to lift her, so it wouldn't be doing that if they could have just pulled it. (The rebar was attached to the concrete behind her, otherwise lifting her would do nothing).

Correction: If you look closely, the rebar is attached to a piece of concrete, but the concrete isn't attached to the floor. Therefore, it potentially could move up and down with her breath (slightly of course), but they couldn't pull it up and out.

House, M.D. (2004)

Cursed - S1-E13

Corrected entry: In this episode we learn that Chase is 26 years old. Considering that he's studied to become a priest, gone through four years of college, four years of med school, two years as an intern, four years as a resident and that he's worked for House for at least a year, that means he graduated high school at the age of 10 (if not earlier).

Correction: Chase could have graduated high school at 17. Then graduated undergraduate in 3 years. 4 years of medical school and 2 as a resident. (You do your internship while in medical school). Plus there are some colleges that do a combined undergraduate/graduate program that lasts 6 years. He could have studied as a priest as an undergrad.

Head - S5-E25

Corrected entry: At the end of the episode the female child molester reveals that she has just learned that she's pregnant with her victim's child. However, earlier in the episode (several weeks prior in the episode's time span), she underwent surgery. A Pregnancy test is part of a standard pre-op workup for all women of child-bearing age. She would have learned about her pregnancy then. Obviously, this was altered for the "end of the episode" dramatic effect.

Correction: Not necessarily, I underwent surgery and as long as I signed a paper saying I was sure I wasn't pregnant, they went ahead with the surgery.

Corrected entry: During the scene after the credits we see Elizabeth has brought her son to meet Will, implying that he is Will's son. However, Will was dead when they consumated their marriage so there is no way he could have impregnated her.

Correction: Since this is some magical law about being dead, but yet strangely living and walking and talking.I don't think conventional conception rules apply.

Corrected entry: In the scene of the city, Justin Bartha picks up a large gold brick with one hand that in real life would be extremely heavy.

Correction: When he picks it up, he acts as if it is heavy. Also pure gold is extremely soft and would not be able to be formed into nice sharp edged bricks. That is why gold is sold as 14K 18K. That brick probably had lots of impurities in it.

Corrected entry: When all of the Musketeers run down from the stands near the end of the film, right before Athos yells "Save the King!", they all throw off their cloaks, revealing their Musketeer tunics. However, in the angled shots from behind the Musketeers facing the guards, there is a Musketeer in the bottom right corner who does not get his cloak off.

Correction: And how is this a mistake? That musketeer was simply not as coordinated as the others.
