Revealing mistake: The Federation Commander reads a report to Servalan, but when the camera angle shifts to a shot taken over his shoulder, you can see that he's "reading" from a colorful plastic board with no printing on it whatsoever. (00:14:20)

UFO (1970)
Revealing mistake: Straker and Foster take off for the moon in a large red hovercraft which, even though it's launching in broad daylight, doesn't cast any shadow. (00:12:00)

Battlestar Galactica (1978)
Greetings from Earth (2) - S1-E20
Revealing mistake: The "hovercraft" Starbuck arrives in with Hector is bouncing over the terrain, very obviously riding on wheels and not air. (00:20:15)

Battlestar Galactica (1978)
Greetings from Earth (2) - S1-E20
Revealing mistake: Just before Commandant Leiter is told that all three ships have landed on Paradeen, a shot of the Eastern Alliance ship shows very visible guide wires holding up the model. (00:13:40)

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (1964)
The 'J' for Judas Affair - S4-E3
Revealing mistake: During the foot-chase through Tenza HQ, the Thrush gunman, with Illya in hot pursuit, races around a hallway corner. As Illya runs into the shot, the gunman's shadow reappears on the back wall, revealing the fact that the actor has stopped and is standing back there. Next shot, though, he's running down another corridor and through a door. (00:14:35)

The Master's Touch Affair - S4-E6
Revealing mistake: Solo's little red sports car has an intact windshield in the studio processed shots (done indoors with rear-screen projection). But in all the outdoor shots of the car, the windshield is, for some strange reason, missing entirely. (00:24:20)

Blake's 7 (1978)
Revealing mistake: BBC costume recycling allows one of the natives on Helotrix to show up wearing one of Tarrant's old 3rd season outfits. Another wears an even older, 1st season costume of Avon's. (00:22:40 - 00:24:25)

UFO (1970)
Revealing mistake: Another piece of stock footage used throughout the series was a shot of the shiny metal sign for Harlington-Straker Studios. The clock on the side of a building is reflected in the sign's surface, always showing the same time of day - so it's 1:50 every time Straker drives by. (00:24:00)

Blake's 7 (1978)
Revealing mistake: To conceal their unauthorized entry into the secret lab, Cally very carefully closes and locks the sliding door. But when she turns back to speak with Tarrant, the "secured" door rolls halfway back open by itself. No, it's not Servalan's troops sneaking in to catch them: there's no sign of anyone there. Besides, anyone unlocking the supposedly-locked door would have alerted them. A case of malfunctioning BBC scenery, plain and simple. (00:43:45)

UFO (1970)
Revealing mistake: Due to re-used special effects footage, the submersible Sky One fighter, whenever it launched from the ocean at night, always took off under a full moon. (00:07:50)

The Bridge of Lions Affair (2) - S2-E21
Revealing mistake: Illya's car collides with Madame de Sala's. But it's very obvious that the cars don't actually strike each other, and later shots of her vehicle show no damage at all where it was supposedly hit. (00:26:00)

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (1964)
Revealing mistake: Miss Moonglow's lipstick supposedly glows in the dark. But when the lights go out, a badly superimposed special effect causes the glowing lips to remain completely stationary, even when she doesn't. Her head moves, but weirdly, the lips don't. (00:36:20)

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (1964)
The King of Diamonds Affair - S2-E25
Revealing mistake: When Solo and Illya, posing as maintenance workers on the London street, are opening the manhole to go underground, two cars - a blue VW hatchback and a white roadster - pass them twice going in opposite directions each time. And while most of the cars are driving appropriately on the left, one pulls up behind them driving on the right (which is to say, wrong) side of the road. (00:13:00)

The Her Master's Voice Affair - S3-E1
Revealing mistake: During the fight with the phony delivery men, Illya's stunt double is easily identifiable by the fact that his wig is a completely different shade of blond that doesn't match Illya's hair at all. (00:20:30)
22nd Jul 2006
Battlestar Galactica (1978)

The Prince of Darkness Affair (2) - S4-E5
Revealing mistake: The same extra - a lady in a green dress - who passed Solo twice in Part 1, is sitting behind Illya in the theatre here in Part 2. This lady certainly gets around. (00:26:15)
