The Twilight Zone (1959)

Static - S2-E20

Revealing mistake: In the boarding house hallway, Ed yanks the pay phone's receiver off the hook - and the entire wall to which the phone is attached wobbles. (00:11:00)

The Twilight Zone (1959)

Dust - S2-E12

Revealing mistake: The sky behind the hanging scene at the end has several prominent wrinkles in it, betraying the fact that it's not a sky, but a cloth backdrop. In some shots, you can also see shadows on the cloth. (00:19:00)

A Most Unusual Camera - S2-E10

Revealing mistake: The crooks in this episode appear to have obtained the same pile of funny money that the Castles received in "Man in the Bottle." The bills don't even vaguely resemble any real U.S. currency. (00:20:25)

The Premonition - S2-E16

Revealing mistake: Janie is frozen in place on her tricycle, but the 5-year-old actress has a hard time holding still. She's visibly fidgeting. And when a freeze-frame of her is used for close-ups, there's a black blotch on the film over her neck. (00:26:30)

The Probe - S2-E17

Revealing mistake: Indicative of previous takes, the floor inside the alien probe already has several human footprints all over it before the characters exit their life boat and walk on it. (00:10:00)

The Duplicate Man - S2-E13

Revealing mistake: This episode's futuristic video-phones seem to be a production afterthought not in the original script. Consequently, Mrs. James talks to her husband's clone on the phone, but doesn't seem to see him on the screen. She tells James, "He sounded like you," and goes on about his voice, but never mentions his appearance. Later, her reaction to seeing both of them together indicates she's never seen the duplicate before - even though she has, on the video-phone. (00:25:00)

The Man in the Bottle - S2-E2

Revealing mistake: Mr. & Mrs. Castle wish for a million dollars in 5 and 10 dollar bills. But the bills they receive all have the same pattern printed on both sides, a pattern which which doesn't resemble any real US currency. There's also not nearly enough of the bills to total a million dollars. (00:12:30)

Cold Hands, Warm Heart - S2-E2

Revealing mistake: This 1964 episode is supposed to take place in its own near-future (the late 1960s). But some of the shots in the beginning reveal the use of outdated stock footage. During the parade, there's a close-up of a 48-star US flag, a relic even in '64, as Alaska and Hawaii became the 49th and 50th states in 1959. Old flags are supposed to be burned, and wouldn't have been used for civic events such as ticker-tape parades. (00:00:50)

Cold Hands, Warm Heart - S2-E2

Revealing mistake: Mismatched stock footage puts the Venus-bound Barton in four different spaceships during his journey. We see brief shots of a Vanguard rocket launch, an Atlas missile, a V-2 rocket sequence, and finally, special effects shots of the ship borrowed from the 1950s SF series "Men Into Space." Not one of these vehicles even remotely resembles any of the others. (00:23:15)

The Twilight Zone (1959)

The Fever - S1-E17

Revealing mistake: When Franklin leaves the check cashing window and walks to the right, a man with a pompadour haircut walks off screen left. In the next shot, with no time lapse, Franklin returns to his slot machine, and the same extra passes behind him from the right, once again exiting left. No way he could have moved that fast in the time allotted. (00:13:05)

Elegy - S1-E20

Revealing mistake: Throughout the episode, the "frozen" people can be seen breathing and moving slightly. This is particularly apparent in the beauty contest tableau.

The Guests - S1-E26

Revealing mistake: The actress is playing chord progressions on the piano. As the camera starts to pan away, she takes her hands off the keys entirely - but the piano chords continue to play. (00:18:55)

Forty Feet High and It Kills! - S2-E3

Revealing mistake: McGarrett and Victoria watch surfers from the beach. Thanks to the insertion of stock footage, they "see" surfers riding huge 6-foot waves. But in the shots of the actual locale behind them, the ocean is virtually flat. (00:09:30)

Revealing mistake: At the end, when Guy loses the sword fight with Robin Hood, his body topples over a parapet and falls to the stone floor below. In the initial shot of him falling, it's a stunt man (who apparently broke his ankle in the process, according to the dvd commentary), but the next shot of the body landing makes the use of a dummy a little too obvious: the "corpse" bounces back up several inches before settling to the floor. The Invisibles - S1-E19

Revealing mistake: The injured Spain falls and tries to crawl away from the alien, leaving handprints in the dust on the floor. Just to his left, you can see several handprints already on the floor from previous takes. (00:47:30)
