South Park (1997)

Correction: We are never told how many ninja stars Kenny has bought, only that EVEN he can afford them at $1.99.

Correction: It is never said that borg do not need to breathe. In the scene in First Contact, the borg are walking in vacuum without spacesuits. We are never told how long they can go before refreshing their air supply. Whales and turtles etc can go underwater for very long periods before needing to surface to breathe once again.

Corrected entry: When Joachim is telling Kahn why they can't return fire on the Enterprise, it's because "They've damaged the photon control and the warp drive. We must withdraw." Notice how his eyes aren't looking at Khan until he says "We must withdraw." indicating that he's reading his lines from an off-screen cue card.

Correction: Alternatively, he is looking at the damage readouts to give the correct information. Once he has read the displayed information, he turns to his captain and gives his advice/opinion.

Moonraker (1979)

Correction: Can you show us the relevant sections in the Dracco Industries Rule Book that says the crews must wear space suits?

Goldfinger (1964)

Corrected entry: When James Bond is trying to escape Goldfinger's henchmen, he is in Switzerland. When he wakes up he is in an airplane on the way to Baltimore, USA. That plane is a Lockheed Jetstar. Its range with extra fuel is about 5000km. The distance between Switzerland and Kentucky is about 7000km. The Jetstar would never make it to Kentucky.

Correction: They could have landed any number of times to refuel. It is never said that it is a non-stop flight. We don't see the entire journey.

The Matrix (1999)

Corrected entry: Morpheus is tortured, drugged, and shot in the leg. Then he's rescued by Neo dangling from a helicopter and dropped onto a rooftop. After Neo pulls up Trinity from the falling helicopter, the talking scene at the end of all of this has Morpheus reminding Neo that "he IS the one". I know this is picky, but Morpheus is very alert, chipper, and looking way to good after having been tortured, drugged, and shot in the leg just moments ago.

Correction: Firstly Morpheus was never tortured (asside from the beating by the cops when he is first 'arrested'). Secondly the truth serum is wearing off. Thirdly, Morpheus spent a good deal of time explaining to Neo (and the audience)that the Matrix is not real, and you can bend & break the rules (As witnessed by the 'jump' program etc). Obviously it was difficult for Morpheus to concentrate while being beaten by the cops. Then he is drugged, so still can not concentrate or reach the right frame of mind. By the time he is rescued, he has recovered enough to be able to break the rules, just as Neo does by returning to life.

Corrected entry: The actual spelling of the "French" word Parley, is actually Parler.

Correction: In what conceivable way is a French Spelling Lesson considered 'trivia'?

Lethal Weapon 3 (1992)

Corrected entry: When the cops at the shooting range are showing the, "cop killer" bullets, they shoot through a bullet proof vest, both sides. At the end of the movie Rene Russo is shot with a cop killer bullet, but it does not kill her because she is wearing two bullet proof vests. This would not stop a cop killer bullet. It had already been proven to go through two layers of kevlar, not to mention the bullets go through the thick steel of the bulldozer blade.

Correction: In the movie, the vests are much thicker in the front then in the back. The bullet didn't have the power to penetrate the double thickness of the front armour. So the bullet only went halfway through the front of the second vest.

Judge Dredd (1995)

Corrected entry: When Schnieder gets pulled off the lawmaster by Dredd and it crashes into the building, its causes a massive explosion. There is no way such a small craft like that could cause such a big explosion in the building like was shown.

Correction: If you can provide detailed schematics of the Lawmaster showing its massive power reserve needed to make it fly, and it massive power reserve needed to power the laser cannons, and you can prove that these power/fuel level would not be sufficient to cause the explosion, then this may be a mistake. Also can you provide information on what was inside the building that Lawmaster crashed into? Was it explosive? Or was it made of a non-explosive fire-retardant material?

The Rock (1996)

Corrected entry: When they are in the chamber defusing the bomb we see the timer at 1:10, there is no slow motion in the movie, however the timer arrives at 0:04 after 1 minute and 14 seconds not after 1:06 as it should. (00:10:00)

Ronnie Bischof

Correction: Very few films are shot in real time. Much like most films, many of the shots during that scene are supposed to be happing simultaniously. e.g. while Cage is defusing, the other guys are trying to turn the water on, and his partner is panicking, and the cockroaches are dying etc.

Soylent Purple

Corrected entry: When David asks Max to take them where "they can't find us" Max diverts into the sea; upon impact David launches back into his seat. When you hit something you normally head towards the impact.

Correction: David wasn't 'launching' back into his seat due to the collision. He was recoiling in fright as they were heading straight into the sea.

South Park (1997)

Correction: That is the point. He strongly believes in something, and doesn't believe what his mother is telling him. He might as well have said "I guess you're going to tell me that I don't exist either."

Soylent Purple

Corrected entry: In the scene where Axel and Rosewood are in the cement truck, Axel asks "Well do the brakes work" and Rosewood replies, "I don't know, I haven't tried them yet", but previously when Taggart is chasing the cement truck on foot you can see the brake lights.

Correction: Rosewood is making a sarcastic joke, as he is driving fast and wildly.

Correction: Seeing as Ace was previously using the croc to surf, perhaps the croc continued to circle for a while longer.

Futurama (1999)

Leela's Homeworld - S4-E5

Corrected entry: In this episode, no one can read the Alien language on the note left by Leela's parents. However, this language has been posted on various signs throughout the series. It would be rather pointless for someone to make advertisements that no one can read.

Correction: How do we know it is the same language? Just becaus it uses the same alphabet, it doesn't mean it is the same language. E.g. French, German, English, Welsh, Spanish, Italian all use the same alphabet.

Stargate SG-1 (1997)

Beachhead - S9-E6

Corrected entry: The Ori plans on collapsing a planet to form a black-hole, unfortunately you need a really big sun (several times more massive than our sun) before it will do this, there's no way a planet will naturally form a black-hole.

Correction: Any object of sufficient mass will form a black hole. As you point out it would need to be several times the mass of our sun. Perhaps he planned to put a stargate on the planet and send a super-dense material through.

Soylent Purple

The key phrase was "naturally form a black-hole." The Ori used technology to super-compress the planet to achieve an unnatural result, so the question of mass is misleading.

Futurama (1999)

Space Pilot 3000 - S1-E1

Corrected entry: Just after the turn of the millennium into 2000, Fry falls back into the space capsule set for exactly 1000 years. So why does he wake in 2999, a few hours before the year 3000?

Correction: Because there are not exactly 24 hours in a day. The computer in the capsule is set to exactly 1000 years. Alternatively, the city was destroyed several times as you can see in the background, so there may have been numerous power fluctuations.

Soylent Purple

His building would certainly have been destroyed as well.

Silent Running (1972)

Corrected entry: The premise of the story is that plant life has been rendered extinct on Earth, with the only remaining foliage being sustained in a few space-borne conservatories. Wood products would then be rarities. Yet, the user manuals for the spaceship's systems are all printed on paper.

Correction: We have no evidence it was paper. It could be a thin plastic or rice based. Alternativly it could be recycled from waste that could only suitabley be used for making manual-quality paper.

Soylent Purple

Corrected entry: The Enterprise crew show Cochrane the Enterprise in a telescope. The size of the enterprise in the telescope field is appropriate to an object in low orbit. However, the speed is way too slow. The Enterprise would zip through even a wide field lens in under a second. (00:40:00)

Correction: Wouldn't it depend on the speed of Enterprise? It is likely that Enterprise was more or less maintaining position over the away team in low orbit is it could beam them out in an emergency, which they couldn't do from the other side of the planet through the all that rock. So it would remain in the telescope's field of view constantly.

Die Hard 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: At the start of the film when Bruce Willis is getting his car towed, he says says to the police officer 'Come on, cut me some slack, will you. Look, I used to be a cop in New York city. I only moved to LA because my wife took a job there. Come on, what do you say. Here we are, in Washington DC. The heart of democracy' it was meant to be Dallas International Airport in Texas?

Correction: Dallas is indeed in Texas. But Die Hard 2 is set in Washington Dulles International Airport, just like the signs on the building say, along with the actors.
