Answer: Also, in the scene where Rusty and Isabel first see each other, it is Frank sitting at the table with Rusty. So it's safe to say he was well aware of the relationship from the beginning.

Question: Tom Hanks told Sophie that she was the heir of Christ and she was not the little girl in the accident which killed all four family members. Why did Sophie have memory of the accident which was shown when she was trying to help Tom Hanks relieve himself from his phobia inside the armored truck?
Answer: Tom Hanks NEVER said that Sophie wasn't in the car crash. What he said was that her last name was really "St Clair" (The same name as the family that died), and the press reported her dead as well. The man she called her grandfather wasn't really related to her, he just took care of her and gave her his name. That is why she could find no records of her family's death, she was looking for the wrong name.

Question: I understand that John and Jane work for different agencies but who does "Tank" work for? It seems unlikely that two competing agencies would need to bring in a third to solve the Smith problem, as they could both easily arrange for their deaths within their own organisations.
Answer: 'Tank' works for Jane's agency. At the beging he is being watched by David Keith who is Jane's boss (Seen briefly with a pixellated image on her computer screen).

Question: In the beginning of the movie, Dane attempts to flee from the convention but is stopped by Nesmith, who says "the show must go on". Dane looks furiously at Nesmith for a second and then makes his appearance on stage after all. Can anybody explain to me why Nesmith's line makes Dane change his mind?
Answer: Dane is a classically trained stage actor from England. On the stage they have the saying "The show must go on". i.e. hundreds of people have payed for tickets to see the play, so the thespians go on stage to do the best job they can. Nesmith is reminding Dane of this as Dane considers it a stage tradition that he doesn't want to break.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
Question: This one applies to many gangster/action movies but, what is the idea of pulling the firing pin back manually when getting ready to fire your gun?
Chosen answer: It depends what you mean. On a revolver, pulling the trigger will pullback the hammer and release it. But if you pull the hammer back manually, then only a small touch is needed on the trigger to fire that first shot. On an automatic, the first round must be chambered from the magazine (by manually pulling the slide back), each subsequent shot will do this automatically. On some weapons such as a Colt .45, the hammer MUST be pulled back (either manually, or from the previous shot). Generally speaking, they do it in films as a threat. For some reason film makers think this is more threatening then just having a loaded gun pointed in your face.

Question: If Mr. Orange had not been killed would have he had to face charges for shooting the woman in the car, despite being a cop on an infiltration job?
Chosen answer: There would definitely have been an investigation. But it was also self defence and /or a reflex action of being shot himself. Also he could claim that Mr. White shot her.
Forensics would prove him wrong if he attempted to implicate Mr. White for the shooting.

Question: When Edward is at his party at the Ritz Gotham and is talking to Bruce Wayne, he gets out a pair of glasses and puts them on. They're not the same pair as the ones he had at the beginning; where did he get them from? He is too busy working on his invention (shrinking it down and selling it), building his lair on an island and making riddles to have had the time to change them.
Answer: He is trying to look like Bruce Wayne, so he has the same haircut and a fake mole, just like Val Kilmer's. All he had to do was tell one of his assistants to go and buy a pair of glasses the same as Bruce Wayne's.

Question: Out of the hundreds of people on the plane, not a single passenger or flight crew saw Jodi Foster's character bring her daughter onto the plane? Was everyone supposed to be in on it? That would just be too weird and next to impossible.
Answer: Firstly, the flight wasn't full. Secondly, there were already several children on board. Thirdly, 2 people did see her bring the child on board - both the hijackers. Fourthly, Jodie and her daughter were the very first people on the plane and were greeted by the female hijacker. Then her daughter was seated until going to sleep. No one had a chance to see her. If a person is able to remember the face of every single passenger on a plane, then they should be onstage with a memory act. On many flights I've been on, I couldn't even recall the people sitting around me, let alone the rest of the plane.
"Then her daughter was seated until going to sleep" Kyle fell asleep the moment her daughter fell asleep which means the hijackers would have had to somehow take Julia out of her seat in order to kidnap without waking Kyle up, and that would have been extremely difficult to do, if it could be done at all.

Question: First, let me say that the aliens being affected by only the "contaminants" in the tap water seems to be wrong. Two reason: 1)The Indian vet mentions that they don't like water, and 2) the aliens were avoiding areas with large bodies of water nearby. My question is this: wouldn't humans, who are over half water, be toxic to the aliens? Even if they processed the humans with different equipment and took precautions to avoid blood or body fluids, wouldn't carrying off a sweaty person burn the aliens? Seems like a dangerous harvest.
Answer: It could be that they are affected by the chlorine in the tap water (humans are affected by chlorine to, just look at Mustard Gas) to a greater extent then humans. The vet is only speculating about the landing sites. And while it is true that humans are mostly water, it is saline (i.e. salty like sweat) and has different chemical properties to pure H2O.
Well water does not contain chlorine.

Question: In the Control scene in Cuba, where Bond notices Boris clicking and twirling the pen in his fingers, how does the grenade pen get into Boris' possession?
Answer: All of Bond's possesions were taken from him and put on the desk. Boris had his own pen at that point. Then there is a small ruckus, and Boris bangs into the table if I recall correctly. He picks up Bond's pen then.

Question: How did rats manage to get on board?
Chosen answer: During the several years it took to construct the ship probably, or in any of the supplies/food brought on board, or in the furniture brought on board. A single pregnant female rat can be responsible for thousands of rats in a very short space of time (the offspring are not too choosy about who they breed with).
A pregnant female rat could have made a home in a underneath a third class couch and had the other rats then all the females would have baby rats quickly.

Question: In the opening scene, when Hummel passes the four soldiers in the graveyard he salutes them but they pay him no attention, even though he is a general. I was thinking it could have been because they are taking part in the funeral procession, even though Hummel probably couldn't tell that, as they weren't carrying the coffin anymore at that point. Also, it seems a bit strange for a funeral as they're not victims' family or any other participants. Is there any explanation for this?
Answer: When marching with a rifle a soldier rests the rifle on the right shoulder. In order to salute with the rifle the soldier holds the rifle vertically, with both hands, in front of himself/herself. This is known as "present arms." As the Honor Guard is approaching the General you can see them move their weapons to the present arms position and hold them there until the General returns their salute.
Chosen answer: I'm no expert on military protocol, but those soldiers (marines?) are marching with their rifles as part of some tradition or honour guard, and so are probably not required to salute.
Negative on that they present arms with their rifles.

Question: Why in the Special Edition DVD does Sean Astin leave the audio commentary booth early? Was he annoyed at something?
Chosen answer: One of them says "He had to go and do..." and Richard Donner sort of looks at him with understanding and nods his head. So I guess he had some other engagement. Something Lord of the Rings related perhaps?
Answer: Sean Astin had to leave halfway through recording DVD commentary for "The Goonies" because the recording session started late, and Sean had an earlier commitment to introduce friend Joe Pantoliano at a local theatre.

Question: Can anybody explain why Mr Bean, in the first episode, has a red mini when in every other episode he has his normal green one?
Chosen answer: I'm guessing it is because he bought a new car. At the end of the first Bean, he crashed the mini. You hear the crash and see his wheel bouncing down the road. Safe to assume it was a write-off.
Answer: Yeah he had a red Mini at the beginning but it ends up getting crashed at the end of the episode. And then in other episodes he has a green Mini.
Answer: I think it is because in the last episode his green car got smashed in the ceremony and he bought a red mini until he got a new green mini.

Answer: They have been programmed to kill Austin. But he is so sexy that he is turning them against their programming. So they blow up as their computerised brains cannot take it.

The Goonies (1985)
Question: Anyone know why the scene with the Octopus was deleted for the DVD? Data mentions it and it is a continuity error on this site, I just want to know why they would have deleted it.
Chosen answer: It wasn't deleted for the DVD, it was never shown in the cinema or VHS either. The quality of the special effects octopus was such low quality, that they decided not to include it in the final cut of the film.
It was actually in the film at one time. I 100% watched it on VHS and in television growing up. I never understood why they took it out later. From what I read. Stephen Spielberg hated it so much they removed it later.

Stargate SG-1 (1997)
Question: I've recently noticed while watching my collection of Stargate SG-1 tapes that one of the team, with the possible exception of Teal'c, seems to say an obligatory "What?" in each episode in such a way that it seems like a ritual signature of the series or an inside game being played by the cast. Has anyone else noticed this, and is it done in each and every episode?
Answer: I can't say I've noticed it every episode, but I agree it happens a lot, most noticably with Daniel Jackson and O'Neill. With the amount of exposition Carter and Jackson have to deliver each episode, after saying "What?" it tends to lead to a long technical or archiological explanation, I wouldn't be suprised if it had now become an in-joke. Much of season 8 seemed to be in-jokes and digs at the show in general.

Question: How can the Death Star be operational if the superstructure hasn't been completed yet?
Chosen answer: They already had gravity, lighting, plumbing, docking bays, life support etc. I assume the entire station is built around the power core and weapon. All the remaining sections were probably crew quarters, storage, more docking bays etc.

Question: Is that stimulator thing that Jack Nicholson uses on his head when he comes out of the shower a real gadget that you can buy somewhere or was it just made for the movie? If you it is real does anyone know where I could buy one?
Chosen answer: It's called a Violet Wand, and MANY years ago they were claimed to be an electrical cure-all for any ailment (along with Coca Cola extending your life-span etc). These days they're used for other purposes, I am sure any decent Adult retailer can supply you with one. Probably get one on ebay.

Question: If there still are dinosaurs on this island, and they are a known threat, why does the government allow them to still live there? With the incident at San Diego, that should have been a harsh wake-up call to the government about the threats of the dinosaurs.
Answer: The dinos have no way of leaving the island, so why would any government go and kill them all? A live tiger or lion would be dangerous if released in a city, but governments do not kill them all just in case.

Chosen answer: They were just discussing going to Amsterdam. In the flashback you see Rusty living with Zeta-Jones, and running away when she was getting close to arresting him. Frank knows about Rusty's history with Zeta-Jones (indeed, Frank was Rusty's partner on the Rome Bulgari's robbery). Zeta-Jones told Rusty she would like to go live in Amsterdam where she has relatives. Frank knows it is dangerous for the pair of them to go back to Amsterdam where probably Zeta-Jones is (Zeta-Jones wastes little time arresting Frank at a nail-salon).
