Beaches picture

Corrected entry: When CC goes to John's house as a singing telegram, she enters the building with a basket in her hand. She puts it down outside the door, and doesn't pick it up again, even when she comes down the stairs with him. When she leaves the building, she has the basket again.

Correction: She could have left it by the door, went upstairs empty handed, and then picked it up again as she left.

Eight Men Out picture

Corrected entry: In the film, the two sports writers (Ring Lardner and Hugh Fullerton) are noticing the poor play of the Black Sox. In reality, ailing Hall-of-Fame pitcher Christy Mathewson pointed out their pathetic play. In fact, Mathewson, who played a key role in discovering the perpetrators, wasn't even mentioned in the film.

Correction: Not a mistake, but discrepancies between life and the movie's events.

Beetlejuice picture

Corrected entry: When Lydia takes pictures of the ghosts, she's using a Polaroid camera. When she shows Delia the photos (and the photos that are seen later on) they aren't Polaroids at all, they are big pictures. (00:39:25 - 00:53:20)

Correction: It is entirely possible to create larger copies of Polaroids. It is apparent that Lydia is knowledgable about photography (and dark room development), and therefore probably reproduced a larger copy.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen picture

Corrected entry: The King of the Moon has a white cloth tying his head to his body while in the bedroom; in the next scene, while on his mechanical bird Sybil, the cloth is black.

Correction: The cloth in the bedroom is silk (appropriate for such a situation) while the straps in the next scene are a dark leather (also appropriate). He puts on some clothes before chasing the Baron so it logically follows that he would change his straps to a material more reliable than silk for the purpose of keeping his head while seeking revenge.

It Takes Two picture

Corrected entry: When Amanda visits Alyssa's home on a bet, she sees Clarice in a mask with her hair in a towel. Then, when she runs into Alyssa, Amanda says, 'Who was that scary blonde woman?' She never saw Clarice's hair so how could she know it's blonde?

Correction: Amanda knew Clarise's hair was blonde because she saw her picture on the wall.

Shoot to Kill picture

Corrected entry: Near the end of the movie during the showdown between Syndey Poitier, the FBI agent, and Clancy Brown, the murderer, the latter places the barrel of his 9mm automatic into Poitier's eye and pulls the trigger. The result is a hollow click as the pistol is empty. That can only happen with a revolver. When an automatic fires the last round from the magazine the slide locks in the open position.

Correction: When an automatic fires it is supposed to lock the slide to rear, true. However, if the magazine follower is worn, or the shooter accidently covers the slide lock with his or her thumb, or the recoil spring is worn or broken, or the ammo is under powered, the slide will not lock to the rear. This is not a mistake any more than turning the ignition key on a car and the car not starting would be a mistake. It just happens sometimes.

Big (1988)

Big picture

Corrected entry: When Josh is spending that first scary night in the hotel, and hears a gun shot, a shrill scream follows, and it doesn't really sound like someone on the street screaming. The exact same shrill scream is heard near the end of the film during the shot of the roller coaster at the park when it loops upside down.

Correction: I think this is more like Trivia, rather than a mistake.

Coming to America picture

Corrected entry: In the scene when Lisa and Akim are walking up to Akim's door (when Semi is sitting in the hot tub after fixing up their room), they are carrying groceries for Akim to cook Lisa dinner, however when Akim walks into the room (and every shot from inside the room) there is no kitchen for him to cook.

Correction: It is not uncommon for cheap buildings such as this to have a communal kitchen rather than a kitchen in every apartment. The landlord states that there is only one bathroom on that floor so they have to share, and this is also apparently true for the kitchen. It is perfectly reasonable for Akeem and Lisa to go into the apartment to put their coats down, sort the groceries, and then go to the kitchen to actually prepare the food. It is also not unreasonable for there to be no kitchen at all and tenants are forced to use a "hot plate" to cook their meals.

The Naked Gun picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Frank sets fire to Ludwig's office, just after the sprinklers start, you see a closed blind or shutter covering a window behind a lamp behind Frank. The shot then briefly cuts away. When it cuts back to Frank, the blind is half-open and in the process of automatically closing. (00:44:40)

Neon99

Correction: I believe that in this scene everything is malfunctioning, including the window shade, and it repeatedly opens and closes. This would explain it being closed in one shot, and closing again in another.

Die Hard picture

Corrected entry: When McClane enters Holly's office, a crew member is reflected in the mirror. (00:12:05)

Correction: The person in the mirror is standing out in the hallway, with several other partygoers in the background scene. It is not a crew member. They're also wearing a suit jacket, something a crew member would be unlikely to do.

The Great Outdoors picture

Corrected entry: After John Candy eats the old 96er and they return to the cabin he runs into the bathroom to vomit. If you look at Dan Aykroyd you can see him counting down on when the cast should go running out.

Correction: When Dan Aykroyd is counting down, it's not a cue to run but when John Candy is going to barf.

The Land Before Time picture

Corrected entry: Ducky was the first of the eggs to hatch, yet later it was stated that Cera was the oldest of all them, and Ducky was youngest.

Piemanmoo

Correction: Age is probably done by when the eggs were laid, not when they hatched.

Iron Eagle II picture

Corrected entry: The F-16 does not have a special Gravity meter projected over the rest of the HUD info like in the movie's beginning. Furthermore, a human body dies around 10 G's so for the pilots to push 10 and not even suffer temporary loss of consciousness or blackout, is highly ridiculous.

Correction: I won't dispute what gauges the heads-up display does or does not have. However, the human body has been documented to have survived over 40 g's. Loss of consciousness can occur in conditions as low as 4-5 g's depending on the position of the body, the length of the g-force exposure, and the rate at which the g-forces increase. However, spikes of 10 g's that occur in very short durations (less than 5 seconds) are not only survivable, but typically do not result in either loss of consciousness, or even changes in vision. Furthermore, the use of G-suits (which use air pressure to "squeeze" the lower extremities during high g-forces to avoid LOC) make it possible for pilots to sustain forces as high as 8 g's for longer periods of time. Killer Klowns From Outer Space picture

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie when the cop pop's the King Clown's nose, how does he have time to grab the ice cream kids and find the clown car? Furthermore how does he know the clown car will survive the explosion?

Correction: They didn't survive in the clown car. They survived in the ice cream truck. The 2 kids were already there as they stated at the very end that they hid in the back with all the ice cream.

Rambo III picture

Corrected entry: Trautman and Rambo both repel down into the cave, Rambo climbs up out of the cave, and a 300 lb Russian soldier falls back down into the cave about 40 feet and hangs suspended in mid-air, on a rope tied to a rock. At the end of the scene, where Rambo picks up his gun and grenades, you can see the rope tied to the rock. This rock couldn't have weighed enough to support the weight of a man, and most definitely not heavy enough to stop a falling man.

Correction: That is simply your opinion and is in no way fact based. We have no idea how much the rock actually weighed or if it could support the man.

Young Guns picture

Corrected entry: The Sween home in Lincoln (the home the regulators were trapped in at the end of the movie) was a single story adobe, not a two story frame house, and the battle ended at night not broad daylight.

Correction: Although this film is based on real people and events, the filmmakers do not claim it to be historically accurate. Artistic license allows the filmmakers to alter, add or disregard historical facts for dramatic purposes to suit their storyline.

Correction: You never see through Mac's head. It's just the way his dark hair seems to blend in with the background a bit, but you can still distinctly tell the difference between the hair and background.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit picture

Corrected entry: Right when Greasy says "I'll handle this one" after being ordered to search Jessica for the will, look quickly at Hoskin's coat and you can see the rigs attached to the coat. (01:17:05)

Correction: There is no "rigging" visible at all, maybe you saw his braces attached to his trousers and thought these were some kind of rigging. There would be no need for any kind of rigging in this shot anyway, he is simply standing there.

Halloween 4 picture

Corrected entry: When Loomis and the sheriff are surrounded by the teens dressed like Michael Myers, Sheriff Meeker say's "If I catch you it's a weekend in jail" indicating that it's a Friday. Halloween was actually on a Monday in 1988.

Correction: Doesn't necessarily indicate it was a Friday. He was dealing with teens and they go to school throughout the week. He has the ability to choose to put them in jail over the weekend so they could go to classes or even make arrangements with employers if they have part time jobs. Also, missing out on a weekend would be very upsetting to a teen. It kind of works like Saturday detention. Barring that, it could simply be an empty threat to put some fear into them. He is the sheriff, so he could make any threat he wanted to to get them to behave.

Twins picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Arnold runs into the house for a shower and Danny DeVito jumps into the car, Marne goes into the house with some cookies, and Arnold has already showered and almost dried off, quite a quick rinse really..

Correction: A quick shower is not a mistake. Julius (Schwarzenegger) would be used to bathing quickly, considering he grew up on a desert island where there was little time or need for taking long showers or baths.
