Happy Birthday, Mr. Monk - S8-E9
Continuity mistake: When Monk pulls all his drapes shut, there's a wide gap in the right hand set that's letting at least five inches of bright sunlight through. No one has touched them again, but when Natalie goes to open the drapes a few moments later, the gap has completely closed itself. (00:16:00)
Mr. Monk Goes to the Carnival - S1-E5
Other mistake: Kitty, the killer, is seen running to Gitomer after Lt. Kirk leaves him. She is supposedly running to stab him, but you can see that both of her hands are empty as she dashes to his side.
Mr. Monk Goes to the Bank - S6-E12
Continuity mistake: When Monk is trying to convince the old woman to use the other pen so the ink in them will be even, in the shots from behind him, the pen's chain is hanging down below the counter. In the shots from in front of him, the chain is pulled taught. (00:23:45 - 00:24:15)
Mr. Monk Meets His Dad - S5-E9
Factual error: The runaway truck ramp has no advance signage (e.g. Runaway Truck Ramp Ahead 1/2 Mile) as real runaway truck ramps do. It has no loose sand to slow down the truck's wheels. And it doesn't point uphill as a real ramp would.
Mr. Monk Goes Camping - S8-E12
Audio problem: "Mr. Monk Goes Camping": When Monk sees the bear, his scream is too-obviously dubbed over with a woman's voice. (In all the previews and commercials for this episode, however, he's shown screaming in his own voice.) (00:27:05)
Mr. Monk's Other Brother - S7-E10
Factual error: In the scene where Monk is making pancakes in his kitchen, he is using a stainless steel spatula on a teflon-coated griddle pan. Mr. Monk has OCD and would never risk scratching his pan with a metal utensil.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: The clip of a submarine surfacing near the end of the episode does not show a normal surfacing; it shows a submarine that has blown its ballast tanks using high-pressure air, which is an emergency procedure that is practised only occasionally. The reason it is not done routinely is because the submarine comes up like a cork with very little control.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: One of the most common firearm tropes on TV and in movies is that using a suppressor (aka, "silencer") reduces a gunshot to a whisper. In reality, a suppressor (either commercial or homemade) only reduces the sound of a gunshot from as loud as a jet taking off to "merely" as loud as a jackhammer.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: Smoking is not permitted on a nuclear submarine; in fact, the atmosphere is so tightly controlled that not even shoe polish is allowed. Also, alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: Officers do not wear their summer whites on board a submarine. Although navy working uniforms have changed since this episode of Monk was made, at the time, all personnel on submarines, both officer and enlisted, wore the same type of dark blue coveralls when on board. Rank was distinguished by pin-on devices on the collars.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: In the episode, the submarine dives almost as soon as it is underway. Submarines do not dive until the water is at least 600 feet deep.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: Nuclear submarines do not get underway on the spur of the moment. It takes hours to make preparations for getting underway. Also, the submarine would not get underway until a new executive officer had been assigned.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: The captain's stateroom shown in the episode is palatial compared to reality.
Mr. Monk Is Underwater - S7-E5
Factual error: One does not simply walk onto a nuclear submarine. Security is very tight, access is strictly controlled, and visitors are escorted at all times and are restricted from seeing certain areas. In this episode, whenever the exterior of the submarine is shown, there is no sign of an Officer of the Deck or a Petty Officer of the Watch, much less any security personnel nearby.
Mr. Monk and the Astronaut - S4-E14
Factual error: When Monk is running alongside the F/A-22 (now just F-22), he is so close that if Wagner had throttled up the engines a bit, Monk would have been sucked into the engine air intake. Here is a video of just such an accident on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF55oyAJDBk.
Mr. Monk Is At Your Service - S5-E12
Continuity mistake: When Monk is inspecting the table ahead of the luncheon, he reaches out to straighten a crystal on the chandelier. The shot cuts to two people in the corner of the room, and the woman in this shot puts her hand on her forehead. At the right edge of the shot, you can see Monk in front of them straightening a plate on the table; however, he was inspecting the chandelier from the side of the table opposite these two individuals. (00:18:25)
Mr. Monk and the Red Herring - S3-E10
Continuity mistake: When the coffin Monk is in is opened, he has candle wax on his hands. In the next shot, there is no candle wax.
Mr. Monk Goes to the Asylum - S1-E6
Visible crew/equipment: When Monk is on the roof and helping the guy not to fall, you can see that he is tied off with a rope.
Mr. Monk Takes His Medicine - S3-E9
Visible crew/equipment: When Monk is talking to the two patrol officers about the suicide and walks down the street, the backlot trailers and equipment are visible around the corner of the building and you can also see a set golf cart. This is supposed to be the street that the shooter and biker drove down earlier in the episode. (00:07:13)
Mr. Monk and the Man Who Shot Santa - S6-E10
Other mistake: When the star of Bethlehem is stolen, the shots are reused from episode 4-13, with a flail used to breach the glass case, which isn't present in this episode.

Answer: Stottlemeyer was already upset after the phone call. He was trying to get "Kevin" (who would have to be a judge, but no further character information is given) to issue a restraining order with no evidence of needing one, except that Adrian Monk said she needs one. Kevin said he would need to "sleep on it." So it's clear they've been trying to provide protection and unable to get the results they need, which seems to be based on no one trusting Monk the way Stottlemeyer does. He's just angry that they failed to protect Linda despite all their work. Although it does feel like a scene was cut, or altered, from the show that shows the futile attempts to protect Linda which built up to his outrage.
