Mr. Monk and the Buried Treasure - S6-E6
Continuity mistake: In the captain's office, Randy is holding his cup with both hands and he states that he has a Motorola phone in his pocket. He begins to turn to his left to expose his suit pocket jacket. In the very next shot, which is a wide angle of everyone, he is beginning his turn again so Natalie can retrieve the cell phone.
Mr. Monk and the Buried Treasure - S6-E6
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, when Dr. Kramer and Monk are talking, Dr. Kramer is hunched over listening to Monk. In the very next camera shot, with the camera pointing at Dr. Kramer, he is sitting straight up and just finishes crossing his arms. A couple of seconds later, it switches back to Monk and you can see Dr. Kramer hunched over again and arms uncrossed.
Mr. Monk and the Very, Very Old Man - S2-E5
Continuity mistake: When Stottlemeyer moves the snake, the pinecone falls on the ground. The next scene, where Monk is on the table and talks to Stottlemeyer, the pinecone is back on the shelf. (00:25:26 - 00:26:36)
Mr. Monk Takes Manhattan - S3-E1
Deliberate mistake: After Monk and Sharona speak to Gratnik in Dumbo, they take the subway back to Manhattan. While Monk is sobbing, in the first exterior shot the "A" train slows into the 42 St station in Manhattan; note the "A" at the left with the driver on the right, as well as the "42" station sign not reflected backwards, all revealing a flipped shot. Then it's the "C" train when it stops, with Monk and Sharona back in Brooklyn, even further now at the "Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street" platform (used for TV shows and films), in lower Downtown Brooklyn. Visible crew/equipment: After Stottlemeyer swipes the keys to Captain Cage's office, when he and Disher enter Cage's office the reflections of the moving boom pole and camera operator beside the camera are visible on the glass window. (00:20:45)

Visible crew/equipment: When Monk and his dad pull over to a diner there are visible feet behind the truck.
Mr. Monk and the Red Herring - S3-E10
Visible crew/equipment: At the science fair during the fire, a kid offers use of his fire extinguisher. When the captain goes to take it from him you can see a member of the crew handing it to him.
Continuity mistake: When Natalie arrives at the marina she is wearing a long trench coat but after she discovers the dead body in the water she is wearing a short one.
Mr. Monk Is At Your Service - S5-E12
Continuity mistake: When Natalie drops Monk off at the mansion, there is a bush in the background. Suddenly a gardener appears.
Mr. Monk and the Panic Room - S3-E2
Continuity mistake: Stottlemeyer has taken things like a banana and a Monkey Joe out of a black leather bag and places them on a table while interrogating Darwin the chimp. One shot while he's acting like a monkey shows the table's bare and the bag's closed.
Mr. Monk and the Class Reunion - S5-E6
Factual error: Stottlemeyer says that if Diane killed herself, her suicide note would go on the public record (and her old nurse would recognize it as a copy of her decades-old note). Since when are suicide notes made public?
Mr. Monk and the Secret Santa - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: In the beginning scene it shows someone injecting a liquid, with ease, into what appears to be a corked wine bottle. Then around the 13-min mark you see the Captain re-gift the bottle and when the person opens it, it's a pull cork with a hard top, something a needle would not easily go through. Mr. Monk and the End - Part II - S8-E16
Factual error: When announcing Trudy's daughter is in Monterey County, they say that is only 20 minutes away, yet they are in San Francisco. Would take 3 times that long to get there.
Mr. Monk is the Best Man - S8-E13
Continuity mistake: When Stephanie leaves Stottlemeyer's office (after he tells her to have TK call him), we see her walk out the door. When the shot changes to Monk, you can see Stephanie in the reflection on the TV walking out of the office again.
Mr. Monk Goes to the Dentist - S4-E15
Character mistake: He extracted the wrong tooth. He states 3 is the problem, then goes to the other side (left), which would be tooth 14.
Continuity mistake: When Monk comes home (after being at Steve's house) and starts to pet the dog, the dog sits down. But in one shot she's suddenly standing and wagging her tail, but then back to sitting in the next shot.
Mr. Monk Makes the Playoffs - S7-E13
Other mistake: At the end when Bob Costas is signing off, the mic is in his right hand with the window on his right). When it switches to Natalie watching the upside down TV, the image on the screen is a flipped image (so that the mic is in his left hand and window is on his left). The broadcast wouldn't be a flipped (or mirrored) image than what we see, otherwise, everything the viewer is watching would be backwards (like the writing and numbers).
Mr. Monk Paints His Masterpiece - S6-E14
Character mistake: While the concept of the knife height and stab wound is OK, the way Monk measures the height of the knife is way off. He says it's 48", which is 4 record lengths, but he doesn't put the bottom of the record where the top previously was, sometimes he only moves it half way up. Then the top of the record is above the knife, so it couldn't be 48" even if it was done right. As particular and accurate as Monk is, he wouldn't make this mistake.
Mr. Monk and the Genius - S7-E2
Character mistake: At the beginning when Monk is writing Natalie's check, we see a shot of it, but the I in "nine" isn't dotted. As meticulous as he is, Monk would never leave an I undotted (we've even seen him dot someone else's i) especially since it would bother him.
Answer: Notice also that in the opening credits scene when he is touching parking meters her also wipes his hand on his clothes each time he does it.
