Character mistake: Monk says that Croatia is a new country and didn't exist until 1992, but Croatia gained independence in 1991. However, Croatia still existed prior to that, it was just part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. So things could still be made in Croatia.

Continuity mistake: In the pet store, the bird's cage has a plastic covering on the sides. But in various shots, either one or both coverings are missing.
Suggested correction: This is wrong, it was just the way the camera angle made the cage appear where I couldn't differentiate the space between the bars, so it looked like there must have been a covering.

Continuity mistake: The way Lizzy is holding the envelope changes in the different shots. Plus, the flap is down at first but then up later.

Continuity mistake: At the end, when Sharona and Monk are leaving, Sharona opens the car door. But in the next shot, it's closed.

Continuity mistake: When the commissioner is getting into the car, he opens the door pretty wide. In the next shot when his hat gets taken, he's seen opening the door again.

Continuity mistake: When Sharona is trying to comfort Monk after he gets off the elevator, she's holding his hand and rubbing his arm. When Michelle walks away, in the next shot, Sharona's hands are on Monk's chest and shoulder.

Continuity mistake: When the second bomb is being placed (after the restaurant scene), the bomber is holding the bomb by the ends (the short side). In the next shot it's being held by the front (the long end).

Continuity mistake: When Monk gets a glass out of the cupboard, he closes the door. When he picks up the phone, the door is open.

Continuity mistake: When Monk and the Captain are in the recording studio room, the candles next to the framed pictures are lit. When Monk walks past them, they're unlit. They're lit again in the next shot.

Continuity mistake: When the Captain is eating his sandwich while talking to Monk, the position of the sandwich and amount eaten keeps changing. He'll have it in his hand, but in the next shot it's on the plate. And you see him take a 2nd bite, but later only 1 bite has been taken.

Continuity mistake: When Monk is talking to Benjy, he buttons up the top two buttons on his shirt, but in the next shot of him they're undone, and he's re-buttoning them.

Continuity mistake: When Stottlemeyer pulls his gun on Mr. Modine, the safety is off and the gun is cocked, but in the next shot it's not cocked and the safety is on. Then we see the safety off, but not cocked.

Visible crew/equipment: When Monk is talking to Dr. Kroger about Sharona's new boyfriend Kenny, you can see the cameraman's reflection in the window behind them. (00:09:26)

Continuity mistake: When Natalie enters Monk kitchen with a bag of groceries, from one angle the bag is on top of the cutting board. In the side angle she is removing items from the bag on the counter. (00:17:57)
Mr. Monk and the Captain's Marriage - S4-E12
Continuity mistake: While at the crime scene in the junkyard, Monk is trying to explain things, but is unable to concentrate because one of the stacked junked cars still has a headlight in it. Frustrated, the Captain shoots the light out so Monk can continue, but as the screen pulls back the headlight is still unbroken in the car.
Mr. Monk and the Candidate (1) - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Mrs. St. Claire refers Mr. Monk as "Rain man", her glass is about an inch and a half full. Next time we see her the level of liquid has dropped. (00:16:45)
Continuity mistake: In the flashbacks of Sharona's uncle's fall, he's lying perpendicular to the steps, but in the photos of the incident we saw earlier, he was lying in line with them. In fact in the last flashback showing the murder his position changes again, turning from a 90 degree angle to be more like 45.
Mr. Monk and the Class Reunion - S5-E6
Continuity mistake: During the touch football game, when Natalie first throws the ball to Monk, he catches it and a guy in a blue T-shirt and jeans is running up behind him. Angle switches as Monk twists out of the way, and it's a different guy wearing black shorts instead. A few cuts later and Monk runs past the same guy in black shorts again.
