Continuity mistake: When Lorelai and Luke are in bed talking about having kids, the first time Luke lies down he is on a blue striped pillow, but the second time it is a light brown pillow.
Continuity mistake: During the town meeting, when Harry is talking about the Battle of Stars Hollow, in the shots facing Harry his hat is sitting on the top edge of the lectern, but in the shots from over Harry's shoulder the hat is sitting on the lectern's inner shelf. (00:01:15)
Presenting Lorelai Gilmore - S2-E6
Continuity mistake: When Lorelai calls Chris to tell him about Rory's debut, she writes his new number on a gum wrapper. The shot changes to Rory. When it cuts to Lorelai again, she is reading the number from a notebook.
Continuity mistake: Rory and Lorelai are talking on cell phones and Rory has her hands full with her pencil and her cell phone and every time they cut back to her her hair has been moved around. It goes from being behind her shoulder to in front of her shoulder, then completely behind her neck without her touching it.
Friday Night's Alright for Fighting - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: When Richard hands Rory her martini, she puts it on the table in front of her. In the next shot she puts it down once more.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Luke and Jess are on the lake discussing in the end, when the camera is on Luke they are in the sun and when it is on Jess they are in the shadow.
Red Light on the Wedding Night - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: When Rory and Lorelai are testing cakes for the wedding at Fran's bakery, Rory is seen taking pieces out of the raspberry cake several times. However when the angle changes you can see that the cake is whole as if none of it had been eaten. (00:00:45)
Continuity mistake: In the episode when Jess arrives at Luke's, Luke explains to Lorelai that Jess' father walked out on his family two years ago. Jess is 17 at that point, which would make him 15 when his father left. In the episode where the father comes to see him, Luke asks him why he left when Jess was just a baby in diapers, and indicates that he hasn't seen him since.
Continuity mistake: When Babette walks through the kitchen's back door to comfort Rory, the porch is visible with its lattice wall and doorknob is to the right, but when Lorelai walks out with Babette in the exterior shot the wall has changed and the doorknob is to the left. The exterior shot looks like the area outside the side living room door, not the kitchen door. (00:19:00)
Continuity mistake: After Dean kisses Rory the second time, when Rory joins Lorelai in her bedroom the lamp sits atop a simple rectangular box to the left of the bed, but in the following shots there's a round table with a pretty table topper and frames, etc. beside the bed. (00:42:00)
Those Are Strings, Pinocchio - S3-E22
Continuity mistake: During the graduation Lorelai borrows Richard's pen and writes "we got the inn" on the graduation program, and when she holds the program up to show Rory note the position of the blue logo printed on the bottom page. First the logo is near the center crease, but then it's at the outer edge of the page. (00:35:20)
Continuity mistake: When Loralie is having lunch with Paris, as Paris is leaving at about in Lorelai is wearing tennis shoes. As she walks into the kitchen she has heels on. (00:09:00 - 00:10:00)
The Road Trip to Harvard - S2-E4
Continuity mistake: When Luke offers Lorelai coffee, Luke grabs two paper hot cups, but the camera angle shifts and he is holding only one cup, then the angle shifts again and he is back to having two cups while he proceeds to pour the coffee. (00:38:10)
Continuity mistake: This was in season six in the Martha's vineyard episode (Valentine's day). Lorelai comes into the kitchen and we see a shot of Rory cooking. Next to her is the orange juicer. In the next shot, it is not there. It reappears as Lorelai is watching Rory cook and Rory reaches into a drawer and pulls it out.
Back in the Saddle Again - S2-E18
Continuity mistake: When Lorelai sits down with Dean to discuss how "clingy" he is with Rory, both Lorelai and Dean's hand positions change between shots, specifically whether their fingers are laced, resting normally on the table or raised in the air.
Continuity mistake: When Lane delivers lunch from Luke's to Rory in the bookstore, the couple seen outside (man in black jacket and woman in white coat) are seen approaching and picking up a magazine not once but four times. They re-approach and pick up the magazine in each camera shot of Lane. (00:27:45)
Continuity mistake: The appearance of the Gilmore mansion is very different in this episode than in following episodes. Here there are steps leading up to the front door, but none in later episodes, and the area people park their cars changes significantly as well.
Lorelai's First Cotillion - S7-E3
Continuity mistake: When Emily asks Richard a question at the dinner table, he is holding a glass. In the next shot, when he answers, he is not holding the glass. (00:08:35)
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene Lorelai crosses the street to Luke's which is in the middle of the block instead of on the corner of the block.
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Lorelai and Rory are in Luke's diner, after Lorelai moves her burger in front of her, the plate changes positions several times between shots.
Chosen answer: Lorelai and Christopher get married impulsively in Paris but they get divorced shortly after returning home. I don't know the exact number of days or weeks but they definitely weren't married for more than a couple of months.
