Kiss and Tell - S1-E7

New this month Continuity mistake: When Lorelai gives a speech to Dean she says Rory cannot get on his motorcycle, and he responds that he didn't have a motorcycle. During the double date with Lane and Todd Dean says he works only on his bike with Todd, and a few episodes later when Christopher shows up in town Chris and Dean compare their motorcycles.

Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers - S1-E16

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Rory asks Lorelai to call Emily to get her out of Friday Night Dinner so she can celebrate her and Dean's 3-month anniversary, a boom mic drops into the shot as Lorelai stands to get the phone. (00:07:05)

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Kirk introduces himself as "Mick" in the first episode. From episode 3 and throughout the series his name is "Kirk".

Kill Me Now - S1-E3

Audio problem: In the scene where Lorelei and Rory are sitting at a table, with Rory looking at herself in a mirror, they talk about Rory's hair. Right after this, Rory asks, "do you want something to drink?" Her mouth doesn't move at all. (00:30:00)

That Damn Donna Reed - S1-E14

Continuity mistake: When Lorelai and Luke are in Luke's Diner to choose the color for the walls, Luke turns around the 'closed'-sign on the door. In this shot the venetian blind at the door is quite messed-up; partly closed, partly opened. In the following shot, where all the people are standing outside Luke's Diner looking through the windows, the venetian blind is orderly and completely opened.

Love and War and Snow - S1-E8

Other mistake: When Rory returns from being stranded overnight in Hartford, she comes up the walk and meets Lorelei on the porch. Although it's snowing significantly in the background, there is not a single flake of snow on Rory's hair, jacket, or backpack, and her hair is completely dry.

Cinnamon's Wake - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: In "Kill Me Now" (1-3) Babette refers to Cinnamon as a male cat. In this episode she states Cinnamon is female.

That Damn Donna Reed - S1-E14

Continuity mistake: In the first scene when Dean brings pizza and they are discussing about Donna Reed: In one shot Lorelai is opening the pizza box and she and Rory take a piece and start eating while they are talking. In the following shot, the piece of pizza in Lorelai's hand is gone and Rory takes a piece from the box - you can see that the pizza is complete again.

Christopher Returns - S1-E15

Visible crew/equipment: When Luke is waiting for Lorelei to show up and paint, a crew member, camera, and boom mic are reflected in the window next to him. (00:29:45)

Kill Me Now - S1-E3

Deliberate mistake: Richard and Emily speak of his mother as if she were dead, but she comes to visit several times later in the series.

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: After Rory is walking with Dean, it goes to a shot of Rory and Lorelai eating at Luke's Diner from outside. Rory is wearing a light blue sweater and Lorelai has a black shirt on. Then it goes inside the diner and Rory is wearing a dark bluish/grey sweater and Lorelai is wearing a purple shirt. The first shot is used from the very last scene of the episode.

Emily In Wonderland - S1-E19

Other mistake: Rory asks Emily for baby pictures of Lorelai, but Emily says Lorelai burned them all because she had such a big head when she was little. But in "Love and War and Snow" earlier in the season, Emily, Richard and Rory looked at a baby picture of Lorelai in a bunch of petticoats the night Rory stayed over with her grandparents during a snowstorm.

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene Lorelei crosses the street to Luke's which is in the middle of the block instead of on the corner of the block.

Double Date - S1-E12

Factual error: Lane wants Rory to talk to Dean about setting up Lane with his friend Todd. While asking Rory to do this, Lane asks for the date to be planned for the following Sunday, after church; however, Lane is Seventh-day Adventist and they believe the Sabbath is Saturday and therefore attend church on Saturday, not Sunday. Love and War and Snow - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: When Lorelai and Max are standing on the porch of Lorelai's house debating on going in together, there is a snowflake on Lorelai's hat that is present in some shots showing the back of her head, and absent in others.

The Lorelais' First Day at Chilton - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: Luke uses a red screwdriver trying to get something out of the toaster and leaves the screwdriver in the toaster while he goes to get coffee. When it cuts back to Lorelai, the screwdriver is on the counter, beside the toaster. (00:18:20)

Love and War and Snow - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: At the start when Harry is talking at the town meeting - the frontal shots show his hat sitting on the top ledge of the lecture stand, but in the shots from behind the hat is sitting on the shelf part of the lecture stand.

Emily In Wonderland - S1-E19

Visible crew/equipment: When Lorelai talks to Emily at the Independence Inn, a boom mic briefly drops into the shot. (00:21:25)

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: The Gilmore Mansion is different than in later episodes. The entrance way has steps to go up to the front door landing. In future episodes, the front entrance and driving area are very different. No steps to the front door and the parking area in front keeps changing, adding bushes and a fountain type sculpture.
