Revealing mistake: In the scene where Ross brings the picnic basket to Rachel's office, he lights a candle and puts it near a plant (which then sets it on fire). However, the candle is barely (if at all) close enough to set it alight, and when it does, a huge flame just erupts from the middle of the plant, not the edge where the candle was.LittleWildman
Other mistake: When Phoebe makes fun of Ross' Princess Leia fantasy with the rolls, Rachel tries to stop her; the shots used are the same action, just from different angles. Look at Rachel's hands and the towel in her hand when Phoebe puts the rolls by her ears.
Continuity mistake: When Pete is trying to ask Monica out at the diner she works at, she rejects him while placing the bell jar over the cheesecake and the pie server on the counter. In the next shot, the bell jar is nowhere to be seen and the pie server is up on the cake stand with less cheesecake. Then the bell jar reappears over the cheesecake. (00:07:00)emma.muyshondt
Continuity mistake: In the classroom Ross has his head down because he didn't want to be called on about the number of boxes he sold. The mother brown bird walks behind him and her right hand is on her hip while she is clearing her throat. In the next shot her right arm is pointing upward.AttitudeEra1
Revealing mistake: After Monica runs into the bedroom screaming "I wrecked your child" Rachel says "I hope it's funny when you're in hell." When Rachel is saying that line you can see the shadow of Monica on the wall in the room indicating she is just standing there waiting to make her entrance again.AttitudeEra1
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Phoebe gives Monica a push on her rollerskates and then we cut to Gunther giving Rachel a mug of cocoa. At this point, Monica is about to crash into Rachel, but as the angle changes we see Phoebe giving Monica a push for a second time.
Character mistake: Ross tells Chandler to run a "post pattern to the left." (And Chandler quickly agrees.) In football, this is a type of passing play where Ross would hold on to the ball while Chandler runs straight down the field immediately after the snap, eventually veering diagonally to the left once he's a ways down field to receive a pass from Ross. The play that they actually run is completely different. It's a running play known as a sweep. (A toss sweep to be precise.) There is no possible way that anyone either making play calls or running them would ever confuse a post vs. a sweep. (00:10:10)
