Factual error: During the rooftop scene overlooking the Lincoln Memorial and National Mall, aside from no building being built there to see such a perspective, it would have to be built in the Potomac river to get such a view.

Continuity mistake: When the train first leaves Philly heading to Harrisburg, there are 4 cars pulling out and 5 on the overhead shot. Also when pulling out of Philly it is a diesel engine and the overhead is electric.

Factual error: The cars the train is pulling for the Philadelphia to Harrisburg route are not ones that represent any passenger cars used for the Amtrak or Keystone routes. They are SEPTA cars on an undisclosed route, other than the Harrisburg line.

Other mistake: When the Jeep crashes and John gets out, he sits on the ground behind the vehicle and picks up a shard of glass that's supposed to be from the vehicle accident. Given that all the glass on the jeep shows to be intact, the glass couldn't have come from the Jeep as insinuated by the audio and placement of the shard.

Revealing mistake: During the pie eating scene when the projectile stream of blueberries starts, the alignment is off for most of them, as it appears to come out of their noses and chins as well. The pie eating contestant next to the radio personality has their stream fall in an arc until it looks like it's coming from beneath their chin directly downward.

Continuity mistake: During the baseball game, the shot right before Zack finally leaves the store to come play shows the scoreboard at a 0-0 game in the first inning. The scoreboard shot before that one just showed the score as being 2-8.

Continuity mistake: During the scene when Tracy Atwood is catapulted from the van, it was because the rear part of the van slid into another vehicle. As the van drove away there was no visible damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Carl is in the bathtub before being caught, there is a red razor and bar of soap on the edge of the tub next to his right shoulder. In the next camera shot when he goes to get out of the tub, the razor is already on the floor before he even hits into it.

Other mistake: In the end fight scene between Dr. Isaacs and Alice, she bumps into the water cocoon and awakes one of her clones only to have it die a few seconds later. When she goes to cover up the body, the clone can be seen wearing a wedding ring - they don't incubate the bodies wearing jewelry in an embryonic state.

Continuity mistake: When the tanker explodes that Carlos jackknifes at the end scene, the zombies that surrounded the tanker simply fall over from the explosion. However when Alice drives the H2 up to and through the wreckage the ground is clear of any fallen bodies. (01:10:50)

Revealing mistake: Throughout the racing shots of the movie, the close up shots of the fans in the stands show the same people used multiple times as evident by them wearing the same clothes, poses, etc.
