Dark City (1998)

Trivia: Part of the inspiration for the Stranger altering the city every night came from director Alex Proyas' time working on the film "The Crow." Proyas would often watch the set-decorators moving around props and pieces of the set between takes, which gave him the idea for a place that could be changed at will.

Dark City (1998)

Trivia: Roger Ebert was a massive admirer of the film - so much so, that he even agreed to record a commentary track for the movie's DVD release, in which he analyzed the film. Ebert only ever did this a handful of times, mostly for films that were considered classics.

Dark City (1998)

Trivia: The opening narration in the theatrical version of the film was included at the insistence of the studio, who feared the audience might not understand the film. Director Alex Proyas hated the narration, and had it entirely removed from the film when his director's cut was released several years later.

Season 1 generally

Trivia: Samara Weaving, whom co-starred in season one as backpacker Heather, became the subject of minor controversy after her episodes aired. Photos of Weaving covered in fake blood for the series were circulated by several Conservative social media accounts, with the false claims she was an American woman who was attacked by Liberals for being a Trump supporter. Weaving (who is actually from Australia) was disgusted by the experience, while series star Bruce Campbell called out the fake reports online.

Trivia: "Ash vs Evil Dead" originally began its life as a fourth film in the original "Evil Dead" series. However, so much potential material was written, that instead of a movie, producers Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert began shopping the project around as a potential TV-series. It was finally picked up by Starz and ran for three seasons.

Trivia: Almost all of the rock songs in the soundtrack (which are primarily songs Ash listens to on the radio) are from the 1970's and 1980's. This was done on purpose, to help illustrate how Ash has been stuck in a state of emotional arrested development since his original adventures - he hasn't really grown as a person since.

Trivia: Early drafts of the script were indeed written to be a direct sequel to the prior 2003 Ang Lee "Hulk" film. (Which explains some of the connections the films share, such as "Hulk" ending in South America and "The Incredible Hulk" opening there.) It was then retooled throughout pre-production to fit better into Marvel's Cinematic Universe concept, with producer Gale Anne Hurd referring to it as a "requel" - a combination of reboot and sequel. Finally, it was decided that the film would be a total reboot.

Serenity (2005)

Trivia: The phrase Simon yells to put River to sleep is actually a Russian phrase that translates to something like "This is for the hens to laugh" or "This is laughter for chickens." It's an old idiom that basically means "This is completely ridiculous!"

Serenity (2005)

Trivia: Though it's never said on-camera, Jayne's gun is called "Lux" in the film. The gun was named after a "Firefly" super-fan who used to do fan-art for the series in the same style as the show "South Park." He unfortunately passed away, so the prop was named after him in his honor.

Serenity (2005)

Trivia: "Serenity" has the somewhat dubious honor of being one of the first four films that were released on the ill-fated HD-DVD format on April 18th, 2006. (It was finally released on the competing Blu-Ray format two years later after HD-DVD was discontinued.) Even more dubious, "Serenity" was also the first HD-DVD film to be pirated on BitTorrent.

Serenity (2005)

Trivia: Spoilers: During production of "Firefly," Summer Glau pitched having her character River become a co-pilot of the ship Serenity. She eventually got her wish with this film, as it ends with River acting as Mal's co-pilot after the original pilot Wash is killed.

Trivia: Bill Murray agreed to be in the film without reading the full script upon seeing the name "Joel Cohen" listed as a writer. It turns out he thought he was signing onto a film co-written by "Joel Coen" of the Coen Brothers fame. It wasn't until he began recording his lines sometime later that he realised his mistake.

Trivia: The film's first trailer - in particular the design chosen for Sonic - was so poorly received, that the director confirmed on Twitter two days later that the studio was committed to changing the design to quell the backlash.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Trivia: With this film and counting cameos, Chris Evans will have appeared on-screen as Captain America in at least one film a year between 2011 and 2019. With this film, Tom Holland will also become the actor who has portrayed Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the most films with his fourth appearance as the character - he will beat the previous record held by Tobey Maguire, who appeared as the character in the three films of the original "Spider-Man" trilogy.
