Plot hole: Since this was to be the last Halloween movie, there is still a major plot hole with the way things went to make Halloween Resurrection. Yes, Michael switched outfits with the paramedic. In Resurrection, one of the nurses says, "Well, why didn't the paramedic say something?" She responds that his windpipe was crushed. Yes, this prevents him from speaking, but it doesn't prevent him from taking off the mask, proving it's not Michael.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: He was thrown through a windshield, hit by a van, and pinned between a tree and the same van. The fact that the mask was on his head might not registered right away. It's not surprising that it would never occur to him to take the mask off if he's groggy from the ordeal.

dewinela

He was reaching for the mask, as if surprised he was wearing it, while pinned. I do understand your point, but I wonder why he didn't point to his face or at least try to remove it since he was obviously (in my opinion) aware of its presence at that point - and unable to speak due to his larynx being crushed. My biggest concern was that the authorities didn't remove the mask at the scene nor before loading him into the coroner van. Neither did Laurie/Kerri. Suspish.

H20 was meant to be the last film in the series and Michael was supposed to be killed off for good. The problem was created when they made the next film. So if anything, the mistake should have been included on that film's page, not on H20's.

Halloween (2018)

Question: Does anyone know which scenes Nick Castle is playing Michael Myers? I know he is Myers when Laurie tries to shoot him through the window and the after credits breathing was his. But is it him any other times?

Gavin Jackson

Answer: You didn't mention the opening scene; I'm sure you know it's him up till he gets his mask back, right?

No, it's not. That's James Jude Courtney playing Michael in the unmasked scenes.

dewinela

Answer: Based on multiple things that I've heard, those are the only two times Nick Castle is on screen. He was mostly just there to help James Jude Courtney get the mannerisms down.

hbkedge3

I had read in Halloweenmovies.com and other Michael Myers Instagram accounts that I follow, that was Nick Castle in the closet when the baby sitter Vicky opened the door.

Character mistake: When Ethan Thomas objects to Dr. Adanie's testimony, he does so on the grounds of "silliness." Silliness does not fall under the federal rules of evidence, and any lawyer worth their salt would know this.

Phaneron

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: During the Manson trial in real life, the prosecutor objected to a completely pointless question the defense asked a witness on the grounds of being ridiculous. The judge agreed and sustained the question. In his book Helter Skelter, Bugliosi even acknowledges there's no such rule, but the judge sided with him. The prosecutor in this film is grasping at straws, since nothing that would fall under the rules of evidence would apply to his objecting to her scientific testimony.

dewinela

Not true, he can object on the grounds of relevance. The YouTube channel Legal Eagle, which is run by an actual lawyer, even stated so. The same logic applies to the Manson trial. If a lawyer feels that a question is ridiculous, they can object on the grounds of relevance.

Phaneron

In a case involving demonic possession as a central aspect of the defense, there's no way relevance could be grounds to object to her testimony. Her testimony dealt with possession from a scientific point of view, but he objected because it was for the defense. The judge in the film even allowed her testimony stating that they'd heard a lot of scientific evidence supporting the prosecution's case and it was fair to hear from an 'exorcism expert'.

dewinela

As for the Manson case, try reading the book written by the prosecutor. It even states in the transcripts that he objected on the grounds of a question being ridiculous (even if, in the end, it would actually be relevance).

dewinela

Just because a lawyer in real life was able to successfully object on the grounds of ridiculousness doesn't mean it would suddenly become a good practice. That would be like saying basketball players should just wantonly heave half court shots, because sometimes they go in. The premise of your suggested correction was also that the lawyer had no legal grounds to object on, and that is objectively false. As I mentioned, the lawyer behind the LegalEagle YouTube channel even said otherwise.

Halloween 4 (1988)

Question: Unless he went through adoption records, how would Michael know where his niece lived?

Rob245

Answer: In Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, it's revealed that Michael is under the control of a Druid cult using supernatural powers making him indestructible. It's most likely, they gave him the power to sense his own bloodline.

Michael also first encounters his niece in the drugstore, not at her home. After the encounter, he very well could have simply followed Rachel and Jaime home and learned where she lived that way.

Piranha 3D (2010)

Corrected entry: The guy on the boat with Jake and the others (the one with sunscreen on his nose for the entire movie) gets shoved to the side when the "director" decides that he will better be able to steer the boat. You see him hit the side and recover but there is no shot of him after that. He completely disappears.

Correction: When the boat hits the rocks, you can see the camera man fall over the side of the boat. It's assumed that he is eaten when he is in the water.

He does disappear for the rest of the movie. There is an unfinished deleted scene where he was supposed to be attacked and killed after falling into the water. However, he appears in the sequel so in the end he survives.

The Warriors (1979)

Corrected entry: Just before the fight in the subway toilet, Swan and Mercy are being watched from a distance by the rival gang. The rest of the Warriors come down the steps and Swan gestures so that they too can see the rival gang. Why are the rival gang oblivious to the Warriors' presence? Surely this is just line-of-sight.

Correction: When Mercy told Swan that the three guys were after him he said that he already knew it. He was playing it cool. It's probable that the gang members were doing the same with the other members of the Warriors, as a slew of other gang members came out of nowhere after the Warriors went into the toilet to wait for the other gang to come in and fight.

Correction: It was a line of sight, alongside perspective. That gang was the Punks. Mercy told Swan they were looking for him. And we could see that their focus was on him, even when the other Warriors showed up. The Punks may or may not have noticed the others, due the poles or station wall (line of sight) as Swan was gesturing to them. When he and Mercy start walking behind them toward the men's room, The Punks follow, and they never take their eyes off Swan.

Let's not forget the other Punks that were in hiding until after the Warriors start making their way to the bathroom. The three members that they see definitely know they're there and are being just like Swan in playing it cool. They're not concerned because they have backup from the other members that are in hiding.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

Question: While at the high school, after the witches arrive, Max says "This is your host, Boris Karloff Jr." Is that a real person or a name made up for the movie? With the witches thought to be burned alive, why did Binx snap at Allison and Max for opening the book. With the witches gone, he wouldn't have anything to worry about, right?

Brandon York

Answer: Boris Karloff was a real actor who is mostly famous for playing Frankenstein and The Mummy in the 1930's. He had many other roles in classic horror films of that era.The young host is naming himself after the actor. Binx may have been concerned that the witches were not truly gone, and therefore wanted to exert some caution. His concern was warranted.

raywest

The answer is true, but the question asked about Boris Karloff Jr, who didn't exist. Boris Karloff had only one child, a daughter named Sarah. As for Binx, he was angry about them opening the book and even states that nothing good could ever come from it. He was not only cautious about the sisters (and any concern he had there was valid), but he also knew that everything in the book was evil and didn't want to risk other issues it causes whether the sisters were involved or not.

Corrected entry: If there have been multiple killings at Camp Crystal Lake and everyone, even the police, knew about it wouldn't they have closed it down for good by now?

Correction: The camp is closed down in Part 3 and is not reopened until Part 6 when they have renamed the area Lake Forest Green and Jason is in the ground buried. In this movie, the killings don't take place at the camp but at a house on Crystal Lake owned by Chris's parents. Throughout the series, Jason stalks the entire Crystal Lake area and not just the famous campgrounds. So, even if the camp is closed, Jason still has the rest of the area around the lake to look for victims. Can the police close that down too?

Tina Gilliam

Correction: The camp was closed down after the events of the first film. At one point in the second film, a character looks at a sign for Camp Crystal Lake and says "this place is on the same lake we're gonna be." In another correction someone mentions that Jason prowls for his victims all over the lake, which is a valid point. The only area that's closed is the camp itself, not the entire lake and town, which simply can't be closed down for good.

dewinela

Also, if you check out the other side of the lake during the scene in the second movie where they go swimming right before Jeff and Sandra sneak away you can see buildings that could be other camps or lake homes owned by people like Chris' parents. Jason had these areas to find his victims, not just the camp from the first movie. Also, the officer that brings back Jeff and Sandra makes the statement that the camp was condemned.

dewinela

Corrected entry: The bed is soaked with blood after Jason kills Sandra and Jeff, yet when Vicky comes into the room the white sheet on top is spotless.

Correction: This was already corrected once. Jason most likely took a clean sheet, lay on top of the blood, then put the clean sheet on him. He was simply tricking his next victim to come closer to strike. With Jason between the blood and the clean sheet, the blood wouldn't soak into the clean sheet.

dewinela

Correction: There was, but it might have been too soon. We don't know how long since he killed Jeff and Sandra, so it might not have had time to soak through yet, not to mention that the sheet would have tented over Jason and probably didn't make contact with the blood. Point is, it's possible so the posted mistake isn't valid.

dewinela

Correction: Both Jeff and Sandra were impaled on the bed. Jason couldn't have possibly laid over all of the blood obviously. And there was a lot! The sheets were completely soaked with blood and when you cover blood with another white sheet it will obviously soak through. When Vicky entered the room there was no blood in sight.

I also just watched this scene. Not only was Jason under the sheet, but Sandra's body was as well. Vicky even addresses her as she approaches the bed because you can see her hair on the pillow. The sheet on top of them would never make contact with the blood with both of them lying between it and the sheet.

Cobra Kai (2018)

Answer: Because of the school fight at the end of season 2 - Robby injures Miguel.

The original question dealt with an episode of season 1. The school fight happened at the end of season 2, so it had nothing to do with why he went back to drinking in first season.

dewinela

Answer: He quit being an alcoholic (temporarily), but Johnny probably wasn't planning on never drinking ever again, he just casually drank at the bar with Daniel.

Question: In the trivia it says that the name Leatherface is only said once or twice. Well, I can't recall the name being used at all. What scenes were the name used?

Answer: The name "Leatherface" is used in the scene set in the hotel, and the waterfall scene. The grandmother says "leatherface" right after she says "Maryana, crank up the chain saw" in the waterfall scene. She actually says it in a whispering tone, so you have to turn the volume up to the max.

I think you're referring to either a remake or sequel. In this film (the original made in 1974), there is no living grandmother that speaks, scene set at a hotel, character named Maryana, or a waterfall scene.

dewinela

Answer: At the dinner table scene when the hitchhiker is arguing with the old man, he says "me and Leatherface do all the work." There's a lot of shouting going on so it's easy to miss.

Scream (1996)

Question: Why didn't Casey ring the police, after the call when she realied he was taunting and making threats?

Answer: Characters in horror movies are notorious for not doing the most obvious things. It's most likely that she was scared and not thinking straight at receiving numerous threatening phone calls, particularly when she is threatened after hanging up on the killer.

Manky

Also, when she told the caller that she was "two seconds away from calling the police", his response was that they'd never make it in time. She also knew he was nearby as he made comments that indicated he could see her. She didn't know it was someone that knew her. She's a teenager and scared, so her judgement was clouded. She reached a point where she believed her only chance was to get away from him by either fighting him or getting out and hiding somewhere outside.

dewinela

Answer: Landline phones like the one used in the movie cannot dial out a phone number while the line is active. Considering the killer is continuously calling her, she can't dial out on the phone line. This is referenced in the movie itself when her parents arrive home, attempt to dial 911, and can't due to the line still being active.

Continuity mistake: When Jason swings the machete to kill Andy, he swings vertically, which would have cut him between the legs down to his head, as he was walking on his hands. Later when Andy is shown, he is cut horizontally at the waist. (01:00:15)

Hamster

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: This is wrong. It might look it at first, but if you pause it, he's cut vertically and his legs are simply stretched to be able to put the feet by his head. The cut reached just past his abdomen, so Jason spread Andy's legs to fit on the rafter, giving the illusion that he was cut in half horizontally.

dewinela

Hogwash. I saw this scene and Andy was cut vertically, not horizontally. There is no illusion. Everything is too obvious.

That's what I said, vertically. The shot is quick, which is why some people think he's cut horizontally.

The Golden Girls (1985)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: In the context of the story, perhaps he was simply waiting for the conversation between Dorothy and Mr Ha Ha to end before he addressed anyone. Some people do that.

dewinela

A correction for this was already attempted. In certain instances, it's obvious that an actor (especially a child actor) is waiting for a cue, mouthing the lines, or suppose to be off-camera. Sometimes their actions can be explained as normal for the given scene, but evidence for their actions need to be based on viewing the scene, not just guessing. Bobby is making a movement to get up, and starts to lean forward waiting for his cue because he's not even looking at Dorothy and Mr. Ha Ha. And he stands up while Dorothy is talking, so he's not waiting for their conversation to end.

Bishop73

Considering that I was watching this scene when I replied, I stand by it. Mr Ha Ha was acting arrogantly towards Dorothy and the kid was close enough to overhear the conversation. Proof is when he gets up as Dorothy is talking, because that was the moment she said she couldn't do it. As soon as she said it, that's when he committed himself to do it because since Mr Ha Ha mentioned a lawyer to Dorothy he'd never have the nerve to threaten a child, and the kid knew it.

The Karate Kid (1984)

Corrected entry: When Daniel enters Mr. Miyagi's house for the first time, the door knocks into wind chimes hanging from the ceiling. When Daniel's mother finds Daniel at Mr. Miyagi's house and enters, the chimes are gone.

Correction: Given the time that passes, he easily could have taken them down.

Greg Dwyer

Nothing confirms that he was removing them.

Nothing confirms that they ate every day during the film's time frame either. Does that mean they didn't eat other than what we saw?

dewinela

Nothing confirms he didn't remove them either.

Nothing confirms he wasn't either.

LorgSkyegon

There are at least 3 scenes where the chimes are present. 1. When Daniel first goes to Myagi's room-he opens the door and hits the chimes. 2. When he goes to Myagi's room to say thank you for fixing his bike-the chimes seem a little further away from the door and he seems to have to exaggerate the door opening to actually hit them. 3. When Daniels mother enters Myagi's room the chimes are there (possibly slightly repositioned) but she doesn't open the door wide enough to make contact with them.

Correction: No they aren't. She just opens the door enough to not bump it.

Corrected entry: If Tommy was locked up in a mental institution, how exactly did he know where Jason was buried? (00:04:00)

Correction: Crystal Lake is a small town, there's probably only one cemetery.

Orlando Rocha

That's a valid explanation, but there is another possibility. Jason's antics would have been legendary, and his final resting place would have been well known in the community. Just asking around would have probably been enough for Tommy to track down Jason's grave.

dewinela

Revealing mistake: When Jason is on top of Ginny's car, she reacts to the pitchfork through the roof a second too early. (01:10:50)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: She had just seen Jason through the window before he disappeared. Then the pitchfork comes the roof. Just before she screams, you can hear the pitchfork tearing through the fabric of the roof. That's what's she's reacting to.

dewinela

Also, when you see the car and Jason is reaching in through the hole in the roof from the passenger side, it's pretty obvious she would have seen him before he stuck the pitchfork through. That could be another reason she react before we see the pitchfork.

Damien: Omen II (1978)

Question: When Damian learns that he is the Antichrist, he is very upset about it. Later in the movie, why does he choose to embrace who he is and his destiny?

Answer: Having lived as a "normal" boy, Damien is initially shocked to learn his true identity. After having time to adjust and being surrounded and groomed by satanic supporters, he eventually embraces his true persona.

raywest

The answer is correct, and I'm just going a into a bit more detail. During the events of the first film, Damien is normal until Mrs Baylock entered his life. She started teaching him about who he was, but he was only five or six, which would have been far too young for him to understand. He started acting more malicious after this point. After the movie ended, it skips ahead to Damien living with his uncle, aunt, and cousin. During that time, it's conceivable that the forces surrounding him decided to give him a period of peace. He was raised by his aunt (secretly a Satanist), but she might have been instructed to give him a normal upbringing so he wouldn't call attention to himself. As a result, he probably forgot about it, and started to believe he wasn't any different. Once he learned of his unholy lineage he began to remember and eventually embrace it, especially since he had several followers (Buher, Neff, and many others he may not have met yet) to help and protect him.

dewinela

Corrected entry: In the third story, "A Lover's Vow", Carola tells Preston that she was able to get his artwork exhibited at a very prestigious art gallery. At the end of the story, it's revealed that Carola is the very gargoyle that killed Preston's friend and swore him to silence. A very big mystery how a gargoyle, posing as a human, would have any connections to an art gallery at all.

Correction: This gargoyle is a supernatural creature. Who knows what kind of connections it might have, or what kind of powers of persuasion it would possess in human form? She's with Preston to make sure that he wouldn't reveal the secret, and when he doesn't she rewards him for not revealing its existence by making him a successful artist by using her abilities to make it happen.

dewinela

That's what makes it a plot hole. The only known ability is being able to become human. There's no way of knowing if she has other abilities such as persuasion. It's mere speculation.

Maybe, but since we know nothing about the gargoyle one can argue that it's a potential power it possesses. Another possibility is that Preston may not be the only one it has an agreement with. It could very well have other people in the city that saw it at one time or another (we don't know how old it is, after all) that promised not to tell and theoretically that could include people in positions that could help Preston (museum curators, art critics, etc). So there isn't really any plot hole here, just a requirement to stretch one's imagination.

dewinela

Question: How exactly did Jason kill Andy? In other words, how did Andy end up the way he did?

Answer: Jason chops Andy in half with his trusty machete (his trademark weapon of choice). However from the way the kill was shot it looks as though Jason whacks Andy in the crotch from above (as Andy was walking on his hands at the time of his murder) so how he ended up in half at the waist is anyone's guess.

Alan Keddie

He wasn't cut in half at the waist. Look very carefully and you'll see that he was cut vertically, then his legs pulled it apart to rest his feet by his head.
