Halloween

Question: At the end of the movie, they flag down a passing truck, how is a truck passing by Laurie's house when at the beginning the podcasters had to be buzzed in through an electronic gate?

Ritualowlny

Answer: True, they had to be buzzed in to get access to Laurie's driveway/house, but her driveway is still technically connected to a public street. The truck was passing by on the public street.

Question: How did Michael get his boiler suit?

Answer: When Aaron and Dana are killed at the truck stop, at one point Aaron spots a dead body - a man wearing nothing but an undershirt and underwear. The fact he's only wearing undergarments implies that he was wearing the boiler suit and that Michael killed him and took it.

TedStixon

Answer: He stole it. Just like he stole the one 40 years earlier. From a mechanic, no less. Both times, Michael murdered the mechanic and then pinched the dude's threads.

Question: Why would Michael Myers recognise the mask from the opening scene in the reboot of the original? When he was a child he was wearing a clown mask. The mask that is shown in the opening scene he started wearing when he first escaped from the mental institution in the first movie as an adult, it doesn't make sense.

Answer: This movie has been deemed as the true sequel to the first Halloween movie in 1978 as it ignores Halloween 2 which was released in 1981 and all other Halloween movies after. Although Michael did wear the clown mask when he was a child, when he escaped from Smith's Grove Sanitarium as an adult, he walked into a convenience store and stole the iconic mask that he wore while killing people. Remember, this is happened in the 1978 film and all other Halloween movies up until this point were ignored so after Aaron shows Michael the mask that he used in the killing 40 years ago, Michael realises that mask was his and killed Aaron and Dana both to get it back.

Answer: You may wanna rephrase this question, because the wording doesn't really make sense as-is, and it's unclear about which movie you're even referring to. You seem to be asking a question relating to the reboot, but it's classified under the questions for the 2018 sequel to the original, so it's hard to tell which of the two movies you're talking about. If you're referring to the 2007 reboot and how Michael recognizes the mask he digs up when he escapes the sanitarium, it's because his sister's boyfriend wore the mask, and he also stole and wore it for a few minutes during the murders. If you're referring to the 2018 film and how Michael recognizes the mask Aaron holds up, it's because it's the same mask he wore 40 years earlier in the original film.

Question: What happened to Allyson's boyfriend after she left the dance following their fight?

dewinela

Answer: It's never shown in the movie what happens. But there was a deleted scene where he got arrested for underage drinking after mouthing off to a police officer. Either way, he's safe for the time being, and the actor is currently slated to appear in the next sequel, "Halloween Kills."

Question: The last we saw of Michael Myers he was trapped in a basement with a fire that started, and wasn't shown making any attempt to escape. I know he is never shown dead, except nothing in the movie gives any valid evidence that Michael Myers used a Houdini to get out of the basement. Nothing shows or implies that he escaped, but a sequel is in the works. If he survived during a fire then how the hell did he escape the basement?

Answer: This is meant to be ambiguous on purpose. We are not supposed to know how he got out... if he got out.

Question: What's his motivation for going after Laurie after all these years? That and why transfer him?

Rob245

Answer: You could argue that Laurie is "unfinished business" for Michael, since she escaped him years ago. But it's important to note that in the movie, Michael doesn't seem to be going after her specifically at first. He arrives in town and just begins to start randomly killing people again. He doesn't really go after Laurie until the doctor specifically drives him to her neck of the woods, because he (the doctor) is obsessed with the idea of Michael and Laurie encountering each other again. So there is also the chance that she wasn't really Michael's target at all. I think it's kind of purposely left ambiguous what Michael's "goals" are in the film. As for the second question, it's answered in the opening scene - he's been at the hospital to be studied. But the state has lost interest in the case since no real developments have occurred. So rather than wasting more time/resources on him, they're instead dumping him into a maximum security facility where he'll basically be left to rot.

Question: Does anyone know which scenes Nick Castle is playing Michael Myers? I know he is Myers when Laurie tries to shoot him through the window and the after credits breathing was his. But is it him any other times?

Gavin Jackson

Answer: You didn't mention the opening scene; I'm sure you know it's him up till he gets his mask back, right?

No, it's not. That's James Jude Courtney playing Michael in the unmasked scenes.

dewinela

Answer: Based on multiple things that I've heard, those are the only two times Nick Castle is on screen. He was mostly just there to help James Jude Courtney get the mannerisms down.

hbkedge3

I had read in Halloweenmovies.com and other Michael Myers Instagram accounts that I follow, that was Nick Castle in the closet when the baby sitter Vicky opened the door.

Continuity mistake: Towards the end when Laurie and her daughter are in the basement, they look up to see light coming through the wood floor and see Michael's shadow. But in all the shots from the first floor it is a tile floor with no spaces for light.
