Question: Is there any reason why Nebula told Mantis over all of the other Guardians to meet her on Titan?

Answer: In a deleted scene, Mantis was sitting in front of the coded message channel for five hours, mesmerized by the flashing light. Perhaps the system told Nebula that Mantis was the closest, or she actually heard her voice.

Logan (2017)

Question: Charles said it was two days since he last took his medicine. But it was only one day. Right when Logan was saying "You can't have an attack out there. Do you understand?" So why would Charles say two days?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Answer: Charles has dementia, which might explain if his memory is poor, but in this case it actually was two days since he took his tablets. He took two before they escaped the warehouse, they stayed at the hotel in Oklahoma that night and the next day Logan tells Laura to give Charles two tablets as he leaves (which she doesn't) and he has the attack. When Logan asks him "How long has it been since you took your meds?" that is the next day, as Logan then says "You saw what happened yesterday" referring to the incident at the casino. Logan did inject him with something which stopped the attack, but Charles may not have been aware of that given his state.

Question: At the end, Eddie seemed to know Marvin Acme wrote his will in disappearing ink on the same piece of paper Roger wrote his love letter on - how did he figure it out?

Answer: At the Ink and Paint Club, Acme squirts the ink on Eddie's shirt, which then disappears. Later, Eddie sees the ink stain on his shirt re-appear, and realises the disappearance is only temporary. Jessica had told him that Acme gave her the will but it was blank, and Roger said he wrote the letter on a blank piece of paper, and so Eddie works out that the ink would re-appear.

Question: Why didn't IMF just raid Ambrose's house when they realised he only had a cure and no virus?

Answer: As Ambrose says, Ethan Hunt "favours misdirection over confrontation" - Ambrose's house is heavily guarded and fortified, and an armed raid could result in the deaths of IMF personnel including Ethan and his team, or other innocent parties such as Nyah. Better to break into Biocyte covertly and destroy the virus, with a much lower risk of casualties.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Question: Why didn't Hulk use the Infinity Gauntlet to snap Thanos and his army? He was able to snap everybody that Thanos killed and survived, so he would have survived another snap.

Answer: The gauntlet fell off after his first snap, then Thanos arrived from the past and destroyed the building, separating them. Hulk never got near the gauntlet and the stones during the ensuing battle, so he didn't have an opportunity to try a second snap to destroy Thanos.

Sierra1

Really what they should have done was pulled the stones off the gauntlet and separated them again, and not run around with a fully assembled and powered up Gauntlet for Thanos to grab.

Vader47000

I agree.

That would mean they had to touch them, and nobody besides Hulk, Thor and Carol could touch one without dying.

lionhead

Ordinary humans can't just grab an infinity stone. Even when Thanos takes the power stone out of gauntlet you see it start to destroy them.

Only the Power Stone has been shown to kill normal people who try to hold it. Hawkeye literally held the Soul Stone in his hand in this movie.

Phaneron

Because he made the necessary sacrifice. Anyone else touching it, big problem. Could be an exception though. The power, reality and space gems have been proven to be untouchable and killing anyone who does (with exceptions though). Time gem is very carefully handled as well so I wouldn't touch that one either. Mind gem, who knows?

lionhead

I don't recall the Time Stone killing anyone who touched it. The only example I can think of was the Red Skull presumably being killed when he handled the Tesseract, but was in actuality teleported to Vormir. The Reality Stone has a will of its own, so someone could feasibly handle it without harm. You're wonder about the Mind Stone is correct, as no human character was shown in any movie to have handled it directly. Overall though, I would say that I disagree with someone trying to remove a stone from the gauntlet, as one stone could easily be lost, and Thanos could still kill every hero at the battle even with one or more stones missing.

Phaneron

The reality stone attaches itself to anyone touching it like a parasite and slowly kills them. I'd say it's a bad idea to touch it. As for the time stone only the ancient one and Hulk actually touched it and there is reason Strange handles it carefully and without touching it. As for the Red skull, don't really know if he is really alive on Vormir. Who knows what the tesseract did to him?

lionhead

Whether or not Red Skull is still alive is an interesting topic, but either way, I'd argue that while the Tesseract transported him, it itself is not what made him in his current state, but rather his curse to guard the Soul Stone and the planet of Vormir itself, as it is a dominion of death as Nebula stated.

Dr. No (1962)

Question: After getting caught and locked up in Dr. No's lair they have some coffee which made them fall asleep. What was the point of this?

Answer: The scene is fairly faithfully adapted from the Ian Fleming novel, in which Dr. No enters the room and "examines" Bond and Ryder (who are both naked in the book and passed out on their beds rather than on the floor). It's not really explained in either medium why he does this, but the book is a bit more detailed about No checking them out in a kind of medical/physical sense.

Sierra1

Question: I am not sure of the overall logic of the plot makes sense. If Musgrave's intention as a mole is to make sure the rabbit is sold to the middle eastern buyers so that there can be a pre-emptive military strike by the US, why did he interfere in the first place with the transaction by sending Ethan? He could have just let events take their course. Am I missing something?

Answer: Davian and Musgrave need Ethan to steal the Rabbit's Foot for them, which is why they get him involved and lure him to Shanghai. Once he does, they force him to confirm it's the real thing by threatening "Julia." Lastly Musgrave wants him to confirm that Lindsey thought Brassel was the mole and not him so that he can order the strike without suspicion. Musgrave doesn't send Ethan to interfere with the transaction - Ethan escapes and tracks Julia's location, which is not what Musgrave wanted or expected to happen.

Sierra1

Why would Davian need Ethan to steal when he could just sent one of his henchmen to do it?

Such Sweet Sorrow: Part 2 - S2-E14

Question: Jumping to the future to preserve the sphere data was meant to be so that Control couldn't get hold of it. But Control is neutralised before the jump, drones all dead in the water, it's utterly destroyed. So what's the threat? Why jump at all?

Jon Sandys

Answer: Perhaps they didn't want to take the risk that Control - a tactical and strategic analysis program - would choose to place its entire core programming into a single fragile human body (Leland), despite previously demonstrating the ability to decentralise, duplicate and transfer itself to numerous computer, cybernetic and organic systems. If any trace of the Control program still existed, it could make another attempt to seize the sphere data.

Question: How did Kirk die? He got hit by a lot of debris but from what was seen, not enough to do real damage.

Answer: Kirk also fell a considerable distance, clinging onto the platform as it dislodged from the cliff and rolled several times. In addition to being crushed/hit by debris, the fall and the rolling would have caused further serious trauma.

Sierra1

In addition to this statement, Kirk would have had servere internal bleeding as seen by the blood coming from his mouth.

Interstellar (2014)

Question: How are the waves on Miller's planet so big, and how could you get waves that big in what looked like 3 feet of water?

Answer: The waves are so large because of the gravitational effect of the Gargantua black hole. The water is shallow because the water is concentrated in the waves.

General questions

There was a man in midlife crisis or something like it, but he finds a portal to a parallel universe which is still living in the Roman Empire. Also the portal is his refrigerator door. So the plot is how he becomes a new ruler of the Empire because he's the smartest man there, while he has relationship problems with his wife in his small apartment.

Answer: Sounds like the French film "Les Deux Mondes" (Two Worlds).

Sierra1

Question: What happened to the time machine prop used for filming?

Answer: I read several years ago that it is in storage on the Warner Bros. lot.

Sierra1

Question: In the making of the movie, there's this song being sung by one of the slaves girl's at Jabba's Palace, that's also featured in the original "Star Wars Battlefront II" in the assault mode. What is the song in question?

Answer: The song is called "Lapti Nek." It was the song Max Rebo Band performs in the original theatrical cut of the film, and was replaced by "Jedi Rocks" in the special editions.

Sierra1

Question: What is the name of the instrumental track that plays where Akasha tells Lestat "I'd like you to kill her" and Jessie is turned into a vampire? It's beautiful but I don't know the title, and it's not on the original soundtrack.

Answer: There were two soundtracks for Queen of the Damned: one of rock songs by Jonathan Davis and others, and a score album by Richard Gibbs. The track you are talking about is "Long Live Jesse" from the score album.

Question: When Kirill shoots Bourne from the bridge, he only fires once. Why doesn't he empty his gun and finish him? He has enough time before he the police arrive.

Answer: Bourne is a significant distance away from the bridge, and nearly round the corner by the time Kirill takes aim and fires. He was lucky to hit Bourne at all from that distance and angle, and with rapid fire from a handgun it would be almost impossible to get a subsequent hit, and Bourne would have ducked out of sight almost instantly. Also the police show up only five seconds after his shot, so he didn't have a lot of time.

Sierra1

These guys are professional killers/assassins. It's hard for me to believe that he couldn't get a deadeye shot there. But unless I missed something, it's the only explanation that can be made I guess.

Bourne and his fellow Treadstone agents were expert killers and assassins, there is no indication that Kirill, seemingly a regular FSB officer, possessed similar skills to that level - we don't see him fight, drive particularly well, and the long-distance sniper shot he takes in Goa hits the wrong person (Maree).

Question: Lucian ended up with the pendant. How did Selene's father get it and give it to Selene while William's prison was being built? How did Lucian get it back so that he had it in Underworld 1 when he bit Michael? (04:00:00)

Answer: Sonja's pendant was part of the key to William's prison, which Selene's father was involved in building, and was why she had seen it as a child during the construction. Viktor later killed everyone who built the prison and took the pendant. In the next movie, Rise of the Lycans, Lucian steals the pendant from Viktor, and has it until he is killed by Kraven, and Selene retrieves it.

Answer: According to the 2017 book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, Luke Skywalker gave Lor San Tekka the map fragment to his location before he went into hiding on Ahch-To.

Why? Didn't he want to stay hidden?

The Wolverine (2013)

Question: Mariko said to Yukio that she could not tell her something now, on the night Yashida faked his death - what could she not tell her?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Answer: Yes, She didn't want anyone else to hear about it until the will was announced 3 days after Yoshida's death.

Answer: That Yashida was going to leave the company and his fortune to her in his will.

Sierra1

Why couldn't Mariko tell Yukio that? In case the Yakuza were eavesdropping?

I think because she wanted her father (Shingen, Yashida's assumed heir) to know first, and to tell anyone else before him would dishonor him.
