Continuity mistake: When we see Rose at the start she says she doesn't know what all the fuss is about. As she says this she has her hand on her hat, but after the angle changes it isn't. (00:21:15)

Continuity mistake: When Rose has just boarded titanic and is looking through her "finger" paintings, she is holding a painting, then slides it down her fingers. When she slides it down, she slides it almost to the end of the painting's frame, but in the following shot she isn't even close to the edge/end of the painting. (00:27:45)

Continuity mistake: When the ship is about to leave the dock, there's a lot of people saying goodbye to the ones that are going to leave the city. In the following shots, you can see Jack and his friends playing cards inside the pub. If you look through the window you won't see anyone. In the next shot, when Jack leaves the pub, the crowd is there again. (00:23:15 - 00:25:05)

Continuity mistake: When the old Rose arrives on the Keldish, she is unloaded from the helicopter sitting in her wheelchair. The two pilots are helping from above, but afterwards they disappear inside the helicopter from one shot to the next, which is too fast as the rotor noise suggests continuity. (00:14:20)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Star 41 is called to the first crash site, it has mini guns and rockets, but when it gets to the site it has seats for people. (00:50:20 - 01:02:00)

Continuity mistake: Just before Sgt. Eversman rappels down from the helicopter at the beginning of the raid you can see that he is not wearing kneepads. On the way down the rope he is wearing them. Once he is on the ground the kneepads are gone again. (00:43:40)

Continuity mistake: Grimes gets handed a death letter and he holds it up. Camera changes and his arm and the letter are not in sight, which they should be at that angle. (00:29:00)

Continuity mistake: When Eversman explains about the situation, the guy in the background with the little book about the Somalians has the book up by his mouth in some shots and down by his side in others. (00:18:20)

Continuity mistake: At the start, Mr Otto states he is just a businessman while his cigar is in his hand held away from his face. Camera changes and his cigar is in his mouth. (00:07:10)

Continuity mistake: We see Mr Otto's convoy in the desert. In the shot of Mr Otto when the Black Hawk comes down into shot, there are 3 people in the side door. When we see the driver of the truck, there are 4 people in the side door area. Camera goes back to Mr Otto and now there are 3 people again. (00:06:05)

Continuity mistake: When Miller is shocked, we see him in a close up with his hair slicked into a point on his forehead. Camera shows a few people taking shelter under a tank trap and back to Miller. In this shot, his hair is arranged completely differently. He didn't touch it himself, as he is supporting himself on a tank trap with one hand and holding his helmet in his second hand. (00:09:15)

Continuity mistake: At the start we see a close up of Ryan's face and in the background is a couple walking away. The bloke has a blue baseball cap on and dark shirt while the woman has got a light blue top and what appears to be a cream coloured skirt on. The camera then shows Ryan back as he is walking and now this couple are in front of Ryan about to walk past him. (00:01:15)

Continuity mistake: Near the start, when Miller's men are walking through a field, and Jackson is talking about him and his rifle, in the background Caparzo has a cigarette in his mouth, but in the following shot it is not in his mouth or hands, then it's back in his mouth again. (00:42:40)

Continuity mistake: During the Omaha beach scene, when Miller, Horvath and a few other soldiers are at the front of one of the bunkers trying to get past the firing squad, he puts down his knife with the mirror attached and grabs his gun, holding it underneath, but in the following shot he is holding it at the top. Continuity mistake: When Miller has just explained to Ryan that his comrades came to take him back, Miller talks to Horvath alone. While Horvath is talking over his shoulder, you clearly see him moving his hands in the next shot, from an angle just past Miller, his hands are held tight to his gun. (01:48:40)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the Radar Station Battle, Miller is yelling for Upham to bring their gear. As told he does. Watch carefully. Just as he picks up the gear, he has a green strap on his chest. when you see a shot of him running, the strap is gone. (01:25:10)

Continuity mistake: When Upham is hiding behind a cow while his squad rushes the communication tower/bunker, he uses a sniper scope to see his squad mates. Upham holds the scope differently every time. The two knobs would first be at north/west, and the next shot would be south/east. This will change several times until Captain Miller tells him to get the gear. (01:24:20)

Continuity mistake: When Miller's men reach the town where the first Ryan is (the wrong one), Miller tells Ryan the bad news about his brothers. When Ryan starts to cry and leans over to his captain the captain's hand is on Ryan's head, but in the following shot it is on the top of his back. (00:59:25)

Continuity mistake: After Caparzo has died from the sniper bullet, when Miller's men are grouped around Caparzo's body, Horvath is holding his gun in his right hand pointing it to the ground with his left arm by his side, but in the following shot, when Miller walks up, he is holding his weapon at waist height. (00:54:25)

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, when old James Ryan's family is behind him in the wider shot, one of the three blonde girls at the back has her hair over her ear and her right hand down by her side. In the following closeup of her, her hair is now behind her ear and her hand is up by her bag strap. (00:01:30)
