Titanic (1997)

Continuity mistake: When Jack is teaching Rose how to spit, then gets caught by some ladies, he has a glob of spit on the far upper right side of his chin, then the shot switches and it is now on bottom middle and a little to the left of his chin. (00:52:25)

Suggested correction: If you look closely the people she runs into are near the inner wall of the promenade, from the above angle they are simply hidden from view by the top frame along the outer wall.

Corrected entry: When old Rose is seen at home, she has a brown dog. When she gets off the helicopter it's a white dog. (00:10:20)

Correction: When the dog is seen at home, it has a white chest and darker back. When the dog is seen on the ship we only see its front which is white.

Titanic (1997)

Continuity mistake: After Cal throws Rose's cigarette away, she lowers her hand. Then there's a very brief angle on Molly Brown where Rose is lowering her hand again up to a point where it disappears offscreen. Then a millisecond later it cuts back to Rose and her hand is magically raised and still, no sign of her lowering it, and shortly after she lowers it while Cal extinguishes the cigarette and she places her index finger on the holder. Close-up on Rose and her fingers are in the previous position and she is extending her index finger again to hide the holder. So there's actually 2 mistakes in a lapse of 3 seconds. (00:32:10)

Suggested correction: She doesn't lower it twice. She lowers her arm slightly, then completely when the camera angle has changed.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: In the early scene where Jack wins the tickets for the voyage, his hand-rolled cigarette is thin and almost done just before he shows his hand. About five seconds later, the cigarette is fatter and longer. (00:23:55)

Correction: Not true. The length and thickness remains the same.

Corrected entry: When Brock Lovett opens the safe someone is taking a video. There are differences between what we see in the video camera monitor and what is actually happening, like the way Brock's hair falls over his forehead. (00:09:50)

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Factual error: In the movie the first Black Hawk helicopter (Super 6-1) gets shot down and just so happens to crash in a large four-way intersection. In the actual battle, Super 6-1 crashed in a narrow alleyway. (00:49:45)

Suggested correction: many changes were made to factual accounts when converting the book to film. This is simply what has happened here.

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Corrected entry: When Chalk 4 are walking up to the crash and about 50 Somalians are walking parallel east of them and they get shot at with a RPG, the wall that gets hit has no mark on it. (00:55:32)

Correction: That's because it hits the ground. Not the wall.

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Corrected entry: When the armored convoy jeeps fire at the roofs as they drive down the street, when they show the two kids firing guns then getting shot down, look to the right at the pile of rocks that "explode" and you can see the wire used to knock them out of place. (00:50:48)

Correction: You see these people in an earlier shot from one of the Black Hawks. The cable actually runs across the building's roof and over the other side.

Fast Five (2011)

Corrected entry: When Dom wears his cross necklace, it hangs low on his chest due to the long chain, When the interpreter is wearing it, it sits high on her chest as if it has a small chain. (01:14:00)

Ssiscool

Correction: Since it's not her necklace, and she knows the chain is too long, she can easily just knot or twist the chain behind her neck until it is short enough. Alternatively, there's a long time lapse between Dom and her wearing at, and she could have used one of her own, shorter, chains from home.

We are shown the chain when she has it removed from her and it's the same chain.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Corrected entry: When Angel is jumping the fences, you can tell by the way he is jumping that he using something to spring over the fences. (00:28:50)

Ssiscool

Correction: Remember the scene from "Shaun of the Dead" where Shaun used a trampoline to leap over the fence? Angel could have used a trampoline on the third one, where he visibly springs on something in what could possibly be a children's backyard on a mini-trampoline, but we never see what he leaps on. The first two jumps have no indication of aid.

There is a clear indication of aid on the first two as well. The third one is obvious he uses a trampoline.

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Visible crew/equipment: During the scene after the soldier falls out of the helicopter, an intense gun battle breaks out. As the troops rally to evacuate the injured man, another soldier lays down some suppressing fire. Look in the lower left corner of the screen. Two crew members, one wearing eye protection and one wearing ear protection, are visible.

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Continuity mistake: When the soldiers first go into the town in the helicopters, one of the helicopters lands on a roof. The camera cuts away for a split second, but when it comes back to the helicopter that landed on the roof, the blades have stopped moving completely within that one second. (00:41:01)

Suggested correction: Two problems with this mistake. First off, as the little bird is only dropping 4 guys off, then going to its holding pattern, there is no way the pilot would turn the rotors off. Secondly, the blades are out of shot of the camera so you can't confirm if they did stop.

Suggested correction: Watching the film from when they take off to when they reach the city, there is no point where the tail of the filming helicopter is seen.

Ssiscool

Corrected entry: At the start of the beach landing, the landing craft are either beached or a few feet out - we know this from the view of the machine gun nest and the cameras beside the landing craft. Several soldiers are waist deep in water, but when the men go over the side they fall into water that is 10-20 feet deep, as we see men sink to the bottom and drown and get shot etc. This is a continuous scene so the landing craft would not have moved.

Correction: You will also see that not all the landing craft are beached or "a few feet out" so the men we see drown could be off those crafts. Also in the actual landings there are reports of men jumping over the side before they arrived so they stood more of a chance.

Suggested correction: Butters is always shown as being a bit dim and slow. As a kid it's easy for him to make a mistake in thinking that there was only 132 episodes.

Ssiscool

That's why it's called a "character mistake"; also, Butters is certainly naive, but he's hardly what I would call "dim and slow."

2012 (2009)

Corrected entry: In the scene with the G8 meeting the American President is talking to the G8 members. The Russian President turns to his translator and speaks in clear Serbian language (not Russian!) 'do not go out, stay' (nemoj da izadjes, ostani). Then in the next moment the Russian President tells his translator in clear Serbian 'You can go now' (mozes da izadjes).

davidana

Correction: It's not uncommon for people to be able to speak multiple languages. If the Russian president thought someone could understand Russian, he could easily have decided to speak in Serbian. His choice to change his orders to his translator is not a mistake.
