Breaking Bad (2008)

Better Call Saul - S2-E8

Continuity mistake: When Badger is talking to the cop at the start, a guy behind them gets on his bike and cycles off behind a pillar but never appears the other side of the pillar. Given the width of the pillar you should see him instantly. He just vanishes. (00:02:00)

Suggested correction: Possibly. Or, the cyclist rides into the scene and dismounts, then either walks or rides directly away from us.

Must have pretty good brakes to stop on a dime and not move forward.

Corrected entry: Donna gets the farmhouse for free, though in the first movie she mentions a 'crippling mortgage'.

Correction: People can remortgage properties to release money tied up in them. A reasonable thing to do given the state of the farmhouse. Remortgage it, get money and fix it up.

Bones (2005)

Show generally

Revealing mistake: The producers have not taken enough generic shots of the places the gang hangs out at; the Royal Diner, & the Founding Fathers. If paying attention (or, watching multiple episodes in a row), one will notice the same people wandering down the street an awful lot! As well, outside the Royal Diner, there's a weird-shaped street corner, that appears to force all traffic in front of the Diner. This would be due to the size of backlot being limited, and certainly doesn't look right.

Suggested correction: It can't be considered a mistake if the same people are seen frequently or traffic passes by the diner. The show takes place over 12 years. People will often walk past the same places.

Preacher (2016)

Mumbai Sky Tower - S2-E2

Revealing mistake: The Amazing Ganesh gets sawed in half (for real) by a chainsaw but the blades separating the 2 halves and thus his body are already in place as seen when he pushes the two halves towards the audience. So the saw wasn't really cutting through anything. (00:11:40)

Suggested correction: That is exactly how magicians perform the trick. Once inside the box the victim folds up into 1 of the 2 boxes and the blades inserted. Then cut and shown to the audience to show they have been cut in half.

Ssiscool

Except the great Ganesh actually saws himself in half. He never learns the trick normally, he just actually saws himself in half and kills himself, then respawns. That's the idea of the scenes.

Deep Blue Sea (1999)

Game of Thrones (2011)

The Dragon and the Wolf - S7-E7

Corrected entry: The captured wight is placed in a wooden crate for the journey to King's Landing. On the way, the Hound taps the crate and the wight goes crazy, shrieking and moving around. However later, the Hound is able to carry the crate on horse back, unload it, carry it into the Dragonpit, put it down, take off all the bars/locks and then kick the crate over, with the wight having zero reaction to all of this, despite its previous reaction to much less disturbance.

Correction: The wights don't have to react to every disturbance.

Plot hole: Dom arrives in New York at the same time as Hobbs and his team. Dom meets up with Shaw's mum and then proceeds to steal the nuclear codes. Meanwhile at the same time, Hobbs and the team arrive at their secret hideout and start preparing the cars. The time frame isn't the same - Hobbs and co. simply haven't got the time.

Suggested correction: There are time lapses between when they arrive and the heist takes place.

Ssiscool

Dom crosses the bridge as Hobbs and Co go underneath then Dom stops to change the spark plug a cover to have his pre arranged meeting with Shaw's mum, he then proceeds to do the heist, there is no time lapse.

1:00 A.M.-2:00 A.M. - S1-E2

Corrected entry: On the roof Walsh guesses that he and Jack are surrounded by two shooters at least - but they are standing upright at the edge of the roof for seconds. Shouldn't they duck for cover? (00:20:25)

Correction: Walsh was referring to inside the building. They met on the roof because it would be safe because the "two" shooters were inside. So they didn't need to worry about ducking for cover; until they stepped back in that is.

This mistake is valid as they don't know for certain there isn't a shooter outside.

Suggested correction: It's a dirt road - presumably other cars drive on it occasionally. There aren't any skid marks or similarly specific features.

The roadway is tarmac. The tracks mentioned are on the side of the tarmac. Why would a normal law abiding citizen drive off the tarmac?

Correction: If you do much turning of the wheel while driving in a straight line, you're doing it wrong.

Shrek (2001)

Correction: This has been acknowledged several times, there is a deleted scene in which the 3 of them have a discussion regarding the swamp, the scene was taken out but we can assume that they still have met, we just weren't shown this.

But then if the scene is deleted it means it's not there. So in the film they still haven't met.

Ssiscool

True, it was deleted. But that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

If it was deleted then it didn't happen. The idea if this was scrapped.

The Lion King (1994)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film, Scar says, "Oh, no Mufasa. Perhaps you shouldn't turn your back on me." Mufasa runs up to Scar, roaring, and says, "Is that a challenge?" Problem is, the roar is still going on while Mufasa is speaking.

Deidra Goins

Correction: They're in a cave. It's an echo.

The Lion King (1994)

Corrected entry: Apples do not grow in the African savanna. Also, Pride Rock has totally dried up. But when Pumbaa and Timon create the diversion, Pumbaa has an apple in his mouth.

Correction: Hula skirts and flower necklaces aren't available in Africa either, nor do meerkats dance the hula. It's just done for a gag.

I don't think warthogs sing and dance either.

Jurassic Park (1993)

Corrected entry: When Muldoon prepares to shoot the raptor he unfolds his rifle butt. However the rifle is already unfolded when he and Ellie are passing the raptor pen.

Correction: Time passed between those points. It is entirely plausible that he folded his stock as he walked into the thick jungle to keep it from getting hung up on the vegetation, only to unfold it again when he has his shot lined up.

An extremely unlikely situation where by he is making it harder for him to defend himself.

Ssiscool

The SPAS-12 (a shotgun, not a rifle) can be fired from the hip, as seen in a variety of videos on it. In a dense jungle, being able to swing the gun around to an up-close target without snagging would probably be more important than the shoulder stock. In fact, if you watch Muldoon swing around to try to shoot the "clever girl", the stock is in the way on his shoulder, and he couldn't get the shotgun pulled back far enough to hit her.

Correction: It's actually an Italian shotgun, the Franchi SPAS-12. From the time they pick up the shotgun to the time Muldoon extends the folding stock, you can see the folded shoulder rest still laying atop the shotgun.

Jurassic Park (1993)

Corrected entry: In the kitchen confrontation, the two little children are strong enough to successfully force the freezer door shut on a charging Velociraptor. Twenty seconds later, in the control room, the two adults are only barely able to hold a door shut against a charging Velociraptor.

Charles Austin Miller

Correction: There's not really a whole bunch of proof that this is valid. As we saw, the freezer floor was covered in ice, which would have negated some of the Raptor's momentum. The kids could have closed it. In the other case, there was no ice on the floor, so the Raptor had full swing.

But even so if the raptor did slip on the ice going into the door it would still send Lex and Tim flying.

11:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: Mike Novick and Senator Palmer are outside the car at Dr Ferragamo's office building when his office explodes. As they get back in the car, you can see over the shoulder of whichever gets into the rear, passenger-side. There is no one in the driver's seat, but when Palmer says, "Let's go," the car moves off immediately. (00:30:25)

Suggested correction: The car is secret service. Detailed to protect Palmer. As soon as Palmer gets in the car, the SS agent gets in the car too.

Stupidity: When they are preparing for a German assault towards the end of the movie, Miller explains to them the concept of the sticky bomb and adds, "If you have a better idea of knocking the treads off a tank I'd like to hear it." Um... The bazooka? They had eight rounds for it, and it could have easily been used to disable the treads. And the men wouldn't blow themselves up with it. While it couldn't destroy a tank by penetrating the armour, it's certainly strong enough to disable the tracks.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Allied forces familiar with the Panzer VI "Tiger", a 60-ton Main Battle Tank during the war knew that the armor is very tough and, even with support fire from a friendly tank, the odds of destroying a Tiger tank with a bazooka like Horvath's are pretty small. From the infantry perspective, techniques that were developed and employed in order to combat heavy Tiger tanks focused mainly on disabling the tank rather than destroying it. Anti-tank weapons of the era, such as the bazooka, were ineffective against most areas of the Tiger's armor, so specific weak points in the design were the focus. Hitting the Tiger in the tracks, suspension, engine compartment, observation slits, and in the joint between the main body and turret were some of the common weak points. Tiger tanks could only be destroyed head-on or from the sides by land mines, or direct hits by heavy artillery shells, or bombs dropped from aircraft. In the film, the first Tiger is disabled by taking out the tracks with "sticky bombs" followed by grenades thrown in the turret hatch. When Horvath fires at the second Tiger, both shots are placed on the joint between the body and the turret, the idea most likely being to hinder or incapacitate the turret's ability to swivel left or right. As the war went on, the Allies developed better strategies for disabling Tigers. One example involved British Cromwell or US Sherman tanks trying to "flank" a Tiger by working in squadrons or columns. One or more tanks would act as a diversion to keep the Tiger's crew focused in front of it while another tank would maneuver behind the Tiger and hit it in the rear section where its armor was the weakest.

Corrected entry: When Harry's name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, it is written on lined paper and not parchment. Wizards only use parchment.

Correction: In the books wizards only use parchments, but it is not stated in the movies that they never use paper.

Yep I even think its done intentionally. Barty Crouch Junior intentionally used muggle paper for Harry's name to make it more believable that Harry did it himself.

lionhead

I highly doubt that would be the case because he already managed to trick the cup why go the extra mile.

Ssiscool

Because he wants to be the only person Harry can go to for help.
