Best movie trivia of 2018
Trivia: Daisy Ridley, best known as the character Rey in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, was originally the lead contender for the part of Lara Croft, but had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. The role eventually went to "Ex Machina" co-star Alicia Vikander, who as it happily turns out is a big fan of the video-game series on which the film is based, and wanted to try her hardest to do the character justice.
New this month Trivia: In the scene were Max and Annie talk about their potential future child, there's a throwaway line about child-actors not amounting to much later in life - a bit of an inside joke, as Max is played by Jason Bateman, the rare child-actor whose career actually improved after he became an adult.
Trivia: When it was originally reported that Danny McBride would be a co-writer on the film, many assumed it was referring to the screenwriter Danny McBride, whom wrote several entries in the "Underworld" film series. It wasn't until shortly after that it was revealed that the Danny McBride co-writing the film was indeed the comedy actor best known for films including "Pineapple Express" and "This is the End." McBride is a huge fan of the original film, and together with director David Gordon Green, wanted to make a proper sequel to the original film after finding the other sequels hit-and-miss.
