Corrected entry: In the scene where the Twins do the trick pick off play to get Griffey out, the trick play is illegal. Under MLB rule 8.05b, a balk is awarded if "The pitcher, while touching his plate, feints a throw to 1st or 3rd base and fails to complete the throw."
Corrected entry: Jack has three memberships of the bowls club in different names. About halfway through the film Jack's flatmate says he is preparing for the interview to become a member. Jack tells him he is already a member "under your real name". So how come Jack has three memberships with apparently no need for interviews (as the longstanding members of the committee initially do not recognise his name, nor know what he looks like)?
Correction: Quite simple really. Jack says he got his first membership when he started to attend uni, so depending on how old Jack is, say for arguments sake, he is 30 years old in the movie, he could've been about 20 years old for his first interview. After that, he could've got a new membership every 3 or so years. Since he never actually set foot in the club, apart from the interviews, I think it's safe to say that no one would recognize him. Plus a lot of things could happen over the years. Current members move away of pass on. It's not that much of a stretch.
Corrected entry: Bones Conway gets a call from a recording notifying him that his unit has been activated. Such calls are made in person, for the simple reason that if a recording was really used, no one would ever admit to getting the message.
Correction: It is not a recording. A recording would not call more than once regardless of when Bones hung up or anything. The call is made several times by a person, who's only objective would be to say the code, not get on to them or anything, or it would make the call null and void.
Corrected entry: During the last flashback when everything that happened in the convenience store is finally shown, Joe gets shot through the chest and killed. Spab then suddenly pulls out an Uzi he didn't have before and starts firing at the bad guys.
Correction: In the commotion, he was able to steal one of the terrorist's guns.
Corrected entry: There is a shot of a helicopter going past a building at a point in the movie (maybe the middle), when it shows a second helicopter in the background. Obviously the one holding the camera and film crew.
Correction: While this is probably true, it should not be considered a mistake. After the bomb detonates, you can see that there ARE two police helicopters in the sky. So it is reasonable that you can see two helicopters in the building's reflection.
Corrected entry: In the scene where the "girls" are performing for "I will survive" in the desert, they come to the camp without any bags or equipment, but end up decked out in full drag.
Correction: It's never mentioned how long it was between the time Felicia says "I guess it's our turn" and the time they put on their show. They could have had time to go back to the bus and change. This also applies to the Aborigine that they deck out in drag. They may have performed it again after doing him up.
Corrected entry: When Stallone calls Sharon Stone from a public phone, he doesn't put any money in the phone; the same when he boards a bus - he doesn't pay there, either.
Correction: He shoves a coin in the phone. You can hear it when the phone accepted it.
Corrected entry: Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson are driving in a straight line on the highway yet the steering wheel is never in the straight position. It is always turned sideways.
Correction: It just means the steering wheel was not on straight. I had a car with the same thing.
Corrected entry: After Jenny is chased from the house, she runs down the road to Darla's trailer for help. But why does Jenny go there if she witnessed Darla conversing with Vilmer, who hunted her down with his truck earlier? It wasn't hard to figure out that she was a psycho also.
Correction: When you have been chased by a man who killed your friend, and then chased by a man wearing another person's skin and trying to cut you with a chainsaw, you are going to go to the nearest person you know of. And Jenny had no reason to believe Darla knew of Vilmer's craziness. She knew that Darla was nice, and was the only person around who could help.
Corrected entry: In the first couple of minutes of the film, the Dan Ackroyd character (Harry Sultenfuss) sings the lyrics to the Madness tune, "Our House" ("Our house, in the middle of our street", etc). The movie is set in 1974, but Madness didn't release that song until 1982.
Correction: Harry is not singing 'Our House' by Madness. He is singing a much older song, with the same title. It was performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. It was recorded on the album entitled "Deja Vu", in 1970 and written by Graham Nash (check out the song credits at the end of the film). What he is singing doesn't even sound anything like 'Our House' by Madness.
Corrected entry: At the start of the film, it is the first day of school. Therefore it is the beginning of September. Yet, not even a week passes and it is suddenly Halloween? Clearly, the screenwriters needed a way for Barktroll and Rockbiter Jr. to walk among the humans and not be detected.
Correction: The start of the film is not the first day of school. Bastian had just moved to the new town due to his father's marriage to Jane so it's only Bastian's first day of school. It's a coincidence that Mr. Coreander also started the same day that he started.
Corrected entry: At the end of the first movie, you see the Genie's wrist bands come off, since it was a symbol of his servitude. In Return of Jafar, his wrist bands are back on.
Correction: The falling off of the bands was just symbolic. Perhaps they were spelled to keep him in bondage. Now, they're as harmless as cufflinks.
Corrected entry: McLeod has a scuffle with a bunch of thugs on the streets and gets shot at least four times. As he's wheeled into the hospital, a doctor yells out that he has two bullet wounds.
Correction: This doesn't seem to be a mistake,his wounds could have been healed already, and they are when the doctor examines him. So in the time it takes to get Macleod to the hospital,two of his wounds have already healed.
Corrected entry: At the end of the film, Ray Liotta drives to Corrina's house to persuade her to come back. When he arrives at her house he's in his hard-top car. At the closing scene of the film, he arrives back at his house with Corrina, and they're in the convertible.
Correction: At the end of the film Ray Liotta does arrive in his hard top car to Corrina's home. His convertible is there already because Corrina has driven it there with Molly a few days prior and he never came back to retrieve it due to the death of his father. They decide to driven the convertible back to his house instead of his hard top car.
Corrected entry: The kid cashes a check for a million dollars and spends it over roughly a month. No bank in America would cash a check for that much without A. verifying the amount with the issuer of the check and B. waiting 10-15 days for the check to clear.
Correction: Since the FBI was on him from the start, it's entirely possilbe they OK'd the deposit ASAP. This would give them a head start on tracking the issuer.
Corrected entry: Although it works well for the story, no couple can be married in the Catholic church without first going through the marriage preparation course, which last for four months. The Catholic church does not marry couples who are eloping on a whim.
Correction: My marriage preparation course was only one day, and was recommended by my priest. While this may be liberal for the timeframe of the movie, it is possible, especially if either party had a previous relationship with the priest. There are some priests who are more liberal than others.
Corrected entry: When Pepper Lewis runs down the street to where Officer Shaw is sitting on his horse, as Pepper runs up to Shaw to borrow his Horse, Shaw addresses him as "Woody".
Correction: Pepper runs up to Shaw and Shaw says "hey buddy." He does not say Woody.
Corrected entry: During the World Series game at the end of the movie Brendan Fraser gets up to bat. Pitchers do not bat when the game is played in an American League stadium.
Correction: The DH rule in the American league ALLOWS a team to send up a batter for any player it designates (it does not have to be the pitcher). However, this rule is optional - not mandatory. In a World Series games played in an AL ballpark, both teams have the right to take advantage of the DH rule; they do not have to. Therefore, Brendan Fraser certainly can come to bat even though he is the pitcher. Obviously, the New York Yankees did not exercise their option to use a DH in this game.
Corrected entry: When Muriel comes back from her date with Bryce, Muriel reaches up to get a packet of biscuits, first she reaches up the top of the shelf to get them but they are on the bottom shelf.
Correction: Muriel simply thought they were on the top shelf - character mistake.
Corrected entry: The crew of Bride of the Monster has to break into a warehouse to steal a fake octopus for the final scene. They're all very sneaky about it, yet the next morning, when they put the octopus back, it's in broad daylight, and they move rather casually.
Correction: They are not putting the octopus back in the morning scene, they are going into their own studio to shoot the final scenes.
Correction: While a baulk is awarded if the pitcher feints a pitch on the mound, Bower, the pitcher, stepped off the rubber before he threw the ball. Because he did this he did not have to throw the ball.
Was wondering this myself as we cannot see his feet. If the pitcher stepped back with pivot foot, he is now an infielder and can fake a throw so no balk. If he stepped and faked a throw without stepping off, it is a balk.
