Continuity mistake: Immediately prior to Preston and Shay dancing in the fountains, Shay is wearing high heels. While dancing in the fountain, she wears flats. After leaving the fountain she is once again wearing high heels.

Continuity mistake: Right after the guy writes a check and sees the cop pull around the corner, he gives the kid the check. When he takes off in his car, the bike has disappeared.

Jason Sieberg

Other mistake: When Preston puts the VR headset on Beiderman, he reacts in a very strange manner. Yes, it's better for the movie, but it doesn't make sense in-universe, as it would take very little effort to simply lift the headset off to remove it.

Knever

Continuity mistake: During the park chase, Preston loses the backpack in a wooded area, but it inexplicably winds up in an open area a few minutes later.

Knever

Continuity mistake: When Preston is receiving the money from the bank, the banker tells him to put his backpack on the desk. Preston does as told and then the shot goes to the banker putting in the combination to the safe. Then the camera goes back to Preston and he is putting the backpack on the desk again.

Factual error: The Indiana plate on the rich guy's car had an incorrect serial number. The "Amber Waves of Grain" plates had the format 1 or 2 numbers (county code), then a letter in small font, followed by more numbers. The plate on his car was all numbers.

Jason Sieberg

Plot hole: To buy the house, Preston would have had to sign some papers in-person, and no realtor would let a young child act as an intermediary (for "Mr. Macintosh") for such a legal procedure.

Knever

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the banker is burning the check that Preston hands him, he starts to burn it near the bottom corner of the check. Then the camera shifts to a close up of the check and you see him burning it in the middle as opposed to the corner.

Joshua Levine

Continuity mistake: When Preston and Shay are dancing around in the fountains at the restaurant, Shay's dress is wet, and in some shots her dress is dry. This mistake occurs often during this scene.

Other mistake: During the park chase, Preston swipes the backpack from the person that picks it up, and is still being chased by Quigly. He somehow manages to put the backpack on in a span of about 7 seconds. Considering he is pedaling for his life, and the fear of the men catching him, it's unreasonable to assume that he could have done such a feat so quickly.

Knever

Continuity mistake: When Quigly is launched into the pool. He is quite obviously going at an angle, but when the shot cuts, he falls completely straight down into the pool.

Knever

Other mistake: When Preston's dad starts to back out of the driveway, he abruptly stops to avoid hitting the moving truck, as if it had just recently appeared there. But they've been there for a while. As soon as he stops, he gets out of the car to start complaining, and the truck driver has already been out of the car for a significant amount of time.

Knever

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Preston is being chased at the restaurant, the water sprays turn on and the bad guys fall over including the banker. We see him get back up. But immediately in the next shot, he is back on the ground and is getting up again.

Low Cow

Plot hole: It is not money laundering if you give FBI marked bills to the banker and he hands you back the same marked bills. If the banker had handed back unmarked bills, in regards to the check for cash exchange with the kid, then the FBI teller would never have figured out that "Macintosh" was using the marked FBI money. Thus the money would actually have been laundered. The main villain did not actually do any money laundering, only bank robbery.

Factual error: When Preston is using his computer to calculate how long it would take for $11 to become $1M at 3 .45% interest, the answer was 342,506 years. While it would still take a long time, it would only take about 334 years (assuming he didn't add money and interest was only compounded once a year). After just 1,000 years, he would have almost $6 quadrillion and after 342,506 years, the amount would be nearly $2 followed by 5045 zeros.

Bishop73

Continuity mistake: The scene where they drop off Shay the limo license plate has numbers. The original license plate says EZ LIFE.

Revealing mistake: When Preston crashes into Quigly in the bowling ball to send him into the pool, you can both see and hear the launchpad that actually launches him.

Knever

Continuity mistake: When Preston's dad walks into the room on Mr. Macintosh's birthday, and he mistakes Preston in a big desk chair for Macintosh, his hands keep alternating from side his hips, to in his pockets, or by his ankles.

Low Cow

Character mistake: Quigly says that Preston "got away again" when he and Shae escape in the limo, but that was the first time that the trio found him after he got the money.

Knever

Butch: I think this guy's been drinking vodka.
Carl Quigley: I have not! I don't drink! Seriously, I don't.
