Continuity mistake: When Christine is fixing herself after the guys smashed her up, her front end is shown to be perfectly straight for its entire width and the hood is missing. Near the end of the scene, the front end is shown crushed and unfolds again, and the hood appears from nowhere.

Continuity mistake: At the start, Robert Neville drives into some yellow poles, only to drive into them again in the following shot.

Continuity mistake: When Bucky jumps on the hood of the bus to get back in, the Creeper flies from in front of the moon towards the bus causing all the kids to run away. Bucky can still be seen staying put on the hood when they run - however in the next shot of all the kids running you see him at the front of the pack which would have not been possible given that he didn't run right away.

Continuity mistake: When Jamie Lee Curtis is teaching a class, just prior to the class trip, a shot over her shoulder shows on the blackboard 'W.B. Yates'. It should be spelled 'Yeats'. In a shot a few seconds later the spelling has been corrected.

Continuity mistake: The antenna of the CB radio switches sides on the car continuously.

Audio problem: When the cop saves the girl from the mob of locals, his car tires squeal as he accelerates away, but the car is on loose dirt, which makes the squealing impossible.

Continuity mistake: Just before the giant tarantula attacks the house where heroine Mara Corday is studying, you can see several book on the library table at the big picture window. The largest book on the table keeps shifting positions in several scenes.

Visible crew/equipment: In the second scene where the main character approaches the car, there's the filming crew visible in the right corner of the car's bumper. (00:02:30)

Revealing mistake: Throughout the film, the base station radio is not connected to an antenna. In many lengthy shots of the back of the radio we can see the power cord trailing out the back of the unit, but there is nothing plugged in to the antenna socket. This is especially annoying because base station radio problems are a key plot point.

Factual error: In the cemetery, the skeleton of Gregory Peck's son is far too big to be that of a newborn, which it is supposed to be.

Continuity mistake: When Trent and Bree are having sex, the ceiling fan is on then off.

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film, on the train ride out of the Hive, Rain is quite close to becoming undead. When she speaks, we notice her teeth are still "movie-star white". However, a few shots later, when she becomes a zombie, she sort of hisses where you can see it has taken what couldn't have been more than a few mere minutes for her teeth to become brown and discolored. Revealing mistake: When the man pushes Leroy's body down the basement stairs, as his body is sliding down, when it's almost to the bottom, you can plainly see Leroy lift his head up as he's sliding, although he's dead.

Factual error: How would the creature be able to re-enter the ship by climbing into the reactor piping? The reactor fuel system is not open to the living space of the International Space Station.

Continuity mistake: When Fin stops near the school bus, the bus number changes from "278146" to "278245" during the rescue of the kids.

Continuity mistake: When Amber and Jonesy get an arrow through the head, the cannibal was on Jonesy's side, so the tip should have gone through Amber's head, not Jonesy's.

Visible crew/equipment: As Rick and Chris get in the Volkswagen Bug after Shelly returns it, you can see three crew members in the backseat window reflection. (00:35:55)

Factual error: Towards the end of the movie, two characters finally make it to a Louisiana sheriff's office. The sign out front reads, "Vierge County." There are no counties in Louisiana, only parishes.

Continuity mistake: In the end, when Michael has grabbed Karen's ankle and is trying to pull her down into the basement, Allyson grabs a knife off the floor and stabs him. However, if you watch very closely, you can see she's already holding the knife in one shot before she grabs it. (It's the shot right before Laurie screams "I've got you!" to Karen.) You have to pay attention because it goes by quickly, but you can see Allyson lifting the knife into frame for a split second, even though she doesn't pick it up off the floor until about 15 seconds later.

Revealing mistake: When Bert is running in the woods, away from the local guys, he rubs blood on a tree to make them believe he ran a certain way. Look close, the tree already has red tint on it probably from previous takes that didn't wash off. (01:04:35)
