Deliberate mistake: Elizabeth Shue uses a drawer handle as an electromagnet. OK if it's really a magnetic material but lab furniture is generally made of aluminium or stainless steel which is not. There is no way that they would use an iron handle in a potentially wet, and hence corrosive, environment such as a freezer.
Deliberate mistake: As Nancy and her Mum are leaving Rod's funeral, you can see the shot of them leaving the funeral has been sped up. Watch the Volvo "jerk" as it pulls away as the speed is rapidly increased.
Deliberate mistake: During the scene where Carlos and L.J. are searching the motel, L.J. sees a zombie which turns out to be a reflection in a wall-length mirror. L.J. shoots, breaking the mirror and realizing his mistake. But, if he had been standing in front of the mirror as shown, he should have seen his own reflection standing there as well. This was done as an homage to a similar encounter in the original game. (00:24:20)

Deliberate mistake: In the beginning, the police chief says "The six members of the family were found last night, in bed, shot and killed." As he says this, look to the left of the screen. In the background, the real Amityville house (dark brown with white windows and trim) is shown instead of the house used in the rest of the film. That segment was from actual news footage of the murders from 1974; apparently, the director didn't want to recreate it.
Deliberate mistake: When Rachel researches Anna Morgan in the Seattle PI newspaper archives she looks through hardback books. The PI has not only been using microfilm and computer archives for years but archives are available on line at www.seattlepi.com.
Deliberate mistake: When King Willie is confronted by the Predator in the alley the Predator approaches him cloaked stepping through the puddle of water. You can see his footsteps causing the water to splash up. However, you can see the water splash up and go through his foot. The Predator is only cloaked, not intangible so the water should have splashed upon his foot, not go through. Water against his foot would be visible too, even though he is cloaked. (00:47:45)
Deliberate mistake: During the scene with the malfunctioning juice maker, when it goes nuts there is no possible way that all that juice and pulp could have come from just one orange. (00:22:45)
Deliberate mistake: The cocaine dealer who was attacked by zombies returns after the group arrives. He is wearing the denim jacket he took off when the zombies attacked him.
Deliberate mistake: After the killer nails Shannon to the ceiling, he apparently has time to remove all the nails from the wall where he originally shot her, spackle, paint and clean up all the blood before the police arrive and examine the apartment.
Deliberate mistake: While Hector is in the water with the crocodile, he yells to the female officer to start the helicopter by turning the key. It takes a lot more than just the key to start a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter. Fuel shutoff valve, throttle, key, and the main rotor doesn't start rotating until the throttle on the collective stick is turned to a specific position.
Deliberate mistake: When Amanda is watching the guy cut the skin from the back of his neck, you can see the same shot repeated twice at the beginning and end of the ordeal. It is the zoom in shot of her just as she is about to start shaking her head. (01:16:50)
Deliberate mistake: It would be impossible for anyone to push up on a casket lid six feet underground and make the lid move much less crack enough to get their whole body through, the dirt would fill the box and trap the occupant.
Deliberate mistake: When Alex is in the cabin opening the can the pull tab is already lifted up making it easier to open because he is wearing gloves. It was already up when he took the wrapper off.
Deliberate mistake: When Blade Abigail and Hannibal go to visit Dr Vance, Drake grabs Hannibal they move to a window, if you look behind them, the window is closed, then when Drake stabs Hannibal the window is open, then after drake goes out the window, you hear the window smash, even though he went out an open window. Deliberate mistake: As the sub rises backwards to the surface, the stern emerges from the water at a steep angle, then rises near-vertically so that the boat is virtually standing on the tip of its bow. Anything left loose on a countertop would surely fall off. But when the boat falls onto its belly, a close-up shows a pistol sliding off a sink counter into the hand of the Captain- because it's dramatic and cool looking, yet extremely improbable- especially considering that an open tin of shaving foam, its lid and a foam brush all lay on the same counter, undisturbed. Deliberate mistake: When the zombie (Tom Savini) is hit by a truck and spits a bunch of blood on the windshield, when he gets hit, the truck isn't moving at all. He runs into the car and spits blood to simulate being hit. It's hard to catch, but it's more obvious in slow motion. (Mentioned on DVD commentary.)
Deliberate mistake: When Alice first fights the Nemesis, she attempts to jump over a fence and make an escape. When she lands on the police car, Nemesis fires his RPG at her. If you look closely, the rocket passes magically right through a chain link fence without touching it at all. (00:44:40)
Suggested correction: Rocket made a big hole in the mesh. Clearly shown.
Deliberate mistake: The sex scene between Paul and Marcy is broken up with a shot of Karen dying alone in the toolshed. The shot is well-lit, but we saw Marcy closing the door when she put Karen back in the shed, leaving the shed virtually pitch dark. So where is the light coming from? (01:02:35)
