Continuity mistake: When Optimus is holding Sam and Mikaela during Sector Seven's search for them, Mikaela falls, and in the shot facing up Sam hangs onto Optimus with his right hand and grabs her with his left hand. In the next overhead shot Sam now hangs onto Optimus with his left hand and holds Mikaela with his right hand. (01:26:10)

Continuity mistake: In the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, Simmons grabs a leather flight jacket, puts it on and when he stands perfectly still between two mannequins his fur collar is first flipped up then flat down, between shots. (01:21:15)

Continuity mistake: When Stoick returns from his voyage, he goes to speak to Hiccup about his son's successful dragon training. Hiccup's book ends up on the floor, then it's back on the table and the papers move about as well, while the two are together. (00:47:15)

Continuity mistake: At NEST headquarters in Diego Garcia, when Optimus points his finger at Galloway and says, "We've witnessed your human capacity for war," both of Lennox's arms are up and crossed in front of him, then they're down and clasped behind him, and then back to crossed in front of him, between shots. Continuity mistake: When Sam is in his bedroom, after he finds the Cube sliver it falls and dramatically burns a hole through the floor into the kitchen. But Sam's bedroom is over the living room (there is nothing on the ground floor below Sam's elevated bathroom, and in the first movie Jazz hides in this open space), and the kitchen is actually located between the den and dining room, at the other end of the house. If they were to follow the actual floor plan of the house, the Cube sliver would have landed in the area of the piano in the living room, but where would the fun have been in that? (00:12:30)

Continuity mistake: Throughout the film, Hooper wears on his left ring finger a gold ring with a distinctive design and a small black stone. When Hooper is lowered in the shark cage, underwater the ring design differs and the stone is a much larger oval shape. (01:53:05)

Continuity mistake: When Hooper is lowered into the water in the shark cage, in the following shots the ring he is wearing on his left hand vanishes and reappears in a few shots, such as when he drops the poison shark dart. (01:53:50)

Continuity mistake: Hooper wears rimless eyeglasses, with the arms either attached at the upper corners of the lenses or at the sides of the lenses. If this didn't happen between shots within the same scenes, it could be presumed that Hooper has two different pairs of glasses and switches between the two, but they do indeed change between shots, such as when Mrs. Kintner slaps Brody, or even later, on the Orca. Continuity mistake: In the secret room below the deli's meat locker, when Wheelie explains that the symbols are the "language of the Primes", Sam picks up two photos, but both photos don't just switch hands as stated in another entry, one changes entirely. In the fist shot Sam holds a photo of a jet, but in the close-up he holds a photo of an old plane, then in the following shot it's back to the jet. (01:19:45)

Continuity mistake: In the secret room below the deli's meat locker, when Mikaela asks Wheelie for help, Wheelie looks at the first photos of the "language of the Primes", and the positions of the photos change in the following overhead shot though nobody has touched them. (01:19:35)

Continuity mistake: When Sam, Mikaela and Leo arrive at Simmons's deli, in the exterior shot the deli has a single front door with its glass covered, and bars on the store's windows. However, when Sam walks in and when Simmons tries to walk away from Sam, we see there are double front doors with a meat poster on one, and there are no bars outside of the store's window. Continuity mistake: At the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, when Mikaela, Sam and Simmons follow Wheelie they reach Jetfire's enclosure with the large information plaque attached to the metal front bar, as Wheelie faces them. Next shot, that whole front horizontal bar is gone along with the information plaque, and Wheelie now faces Jetfire. Then when the Cube shard attaches itself to Jetfire the metal horizontal bar reappears, though the large plaque is still gone, and that bar vanishes once again in the shot from under Jetfire. Continuity mistake: When Megatron sarcastically asks Sam, "You remember me, don't you?" Sam stops on the landing between the two flights of stairs and puts his hands up, but in the next shot Sam, whose hands are still in mid-air, is standing much farther down on the second flight of stairs. Continuity mistake: When Alice is with Sam in the symbol filled dorm room, there is a large, twin, folding picture frame beside the bed, whose position changes from the right side to the left side of the windowsill, repeatedly. (00:51:20)

Continuity mistake: When Alice and Leo walk in on Sam in the symbol filled dorm room, on the wall at the head of Sam's bed are three small-to-medium sized framed photos of Sam and Mikaela hanging vertically. After Alice pushes Leo out of the room, the frames change. Now there are two large and medium frames hanging vertically and another medium frame hanging horizontally. (00:50:00)

Continuity mistake: When Sam rushes back to his dorm room, he paints the first symbol on the Bad Boys poster, then rips the top poster off the wall and paints large symbols on the wall in its place. That poster remains gone in all the following shots except for two, where it is back on the wall above the Bad Boys poster. First when Sam knocks over the microwave and then when Alice fully transforms on Sam's bed. (00:50:10)
