Additionally, while Verdie and Olivia are in the store, Harriet has a blue lollipop and John Curtis is licking a red lollipop, but when Verdie and Olivia leave the store in the exterior shot, Harriet is holding a red lollipop and John Curtis is holding a blue one. Continuity mistake: In this episode Olivia states that she conceived one month after getting married. Olivia asks John if he remembers that summer when just the two of them went camping up on the mountain, and they both recall that it was their one month anniversary after eloping. Olivia also says that she knew later that night, "That there's some kind of miracle happening inside me," and even felt that it was a boy - John-Boy, their eldest child. The problem is, in 8x1 "The Homefront," when Cindy joins Olivia in the garden, Cindy asks, "How long was it before you knew you were expecting John-Boy?" and Olivia replies, "About two years, but everybody is different..." Later, after Mary Ellen and G.W. dance for Olivia it cuts to a closeup of the wheelchair, but it's actually the earlier shot because we still see Zeb's legs and he's not even in the room. Continuity mistake: When John-Boy goes to Sarah's house to pick her up for the double-feature picture show, he tells her mother good morning and we see the shadows being cast outside The House. Later, after the double feature, when John-Boy and Sarah get back to her house in the afternoon, all of the shadows are still being cast in precisely the same direction as that morning, which is impossible. Also, in Sarah's closeup after she gets out of the truck and when John-Boy rushes after her, the white fence's shadow is completely different than the previous and following wideshots. Continuity mistake: Boone Walton's truck license plate number is T98254. When Blake and the U.S. Marshals drive up for the final standoff, Blake's truck license plate number is also T98254. When John-Boy runs up to Blake's truck to confront him, his front license plate number has changed again to T79825 (same as earlier, when Blake unloaded explosives), which is also the same plate number that was on another man's truck near the start of the episode. Finally, when the shooting starts and Blake's truck swerves to a stop, the back plate number is T37982. (01:27:55)

Continuity mistake: When John-Boy finishes the roof repair he carries the ladder and places it beside the tree, then he notices the unlocked padlock on the garage door. In the closeup, the open lock is inserted through the latch facing the right, but in the wideshot the lock is inserted through the latch the opposite way. (00:25:25)
