Visible crew/equipment: After Brody buys the sign supplies, when Hendricks shows up Brody places the box in the front seat, and as Hendricks tells Brody about the Boy Scouts, pay attention to the left window across the street, where we can see one of the local residents holding a camera and looking out the window facing the location shoot, taking pictures of the actors and film crew. The filming took place at the corner of Main St and S. Water St, Edgartown. (00:10:50)

Jaws (1975)

Revealing mistake: When Hooper is in the cage the regulator hose is to Hooper's right (viewer's left when facing him). However, when the shark first appears and passes Hooper, in the shot facing him the hose is now to Hooper's left (viewer's right), and the word "repeater" on the poison shark dart is also backwards. This is a flipped shot. (01:53:30)

Jaws (1975)

Continuity mistake: Throughout the film, Hooper wears on his left ring finger a gold ring with a distinctive design and a small black stone. When Hooper is lowered in the shark cage, underwater the ring design differs and the stone is a much larger oval shape. (01:53:05)

Jaws (1975)

Continuity mistake: Hooper wears rimless eyeglasses, with the arms either attached at the upper corners of the lenses or at the sides of the lenses. If this didn't happen between shots within the same scenes, it could be presumed that Hooper has two different pairs of glasses and switches between the two, but they do indeed change between shots, such as when Mrs. Kintner slaps Brody, or even later, on the Orca. Jaws mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During numerous close-ups on the bridge deck, such as when Brody is behind the wheel, as Hooper shouts, "Our injectors got scored from the salt water in the fuel," the three large gauges over the steering column are seen. The center gauge has a wide shiny chrome trim, and a partial black face with a silver center. However, in the extreme close-up of the gauge panel, it is an entirely different style RPM gauge, and it now has a blackish rusty trim, and a solid black face. (01:41:00)

Jaws (1975)

Visible crew/equipment: After tying off the cleats, the shark pulls Orca causing it to tip. As Hooper and Brody fall backwards onto the deck, in this close-up the white tape mark is visible on the black anti-slip mat - where Quint will land the machete in a subsequent shot. (01:43:00)

Jaws (1975)

Continuity mistake: When Brody fires the last shot at the air tank, in the next close-up of the shark, the tank lies parallel to its body deep within its mouth, with only the base of the tank visible between its teeth. However, in the next wide shot, the tank lies perpendicularly in its mouth, with the pressure knobs at its right. (02:00:10)

Jaws (1975)

Continuity mistake: After Brody says, "You're gonna need a bigger boat," he and Quint step out on deck and stare beyond the port side. However, in the next shot from behind them, they face starboard side as the shark swims nearer, but when Quint says, "Shut off that engine," they face port side again, with a close-up of Hooper looking port side as well. Then finally Quint follows as the shark passes from starboard to port side. (01:21:30)

Jaws mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: When the fishermen start out on the hunt, Ben Gardner appears in a close-up leaning on the windshield at forward deck, while talking to his boatmate about how stupid some of the others are. In the next wide shot of the boats, Ben's green boat is towards the left of the screen, and the large reflector screen and camera, that are mounted to the bow of his boat, are visible in front of the forward window where Ben was seen in the previous shot. Jaws (1975)

Continuity mistake: On the dock, as the Tiger shark is being raised there is an arrow above its gills, a second arrow below its dorsal fin and a broken arrow shaft in the wound just beside that dorsal fin. When Hooper tells the three fishermen that it's a Tiger shark, the broken arrow beside its dorsal fin is now a nice, long, whole arrow. All of the arrows change their degree of penetration in the shark's hide throughout these shots. (00:32:55 - 00:34:20)

Jaws (1975)

Continuity mistake: After the two barrels are tied off, there is at least twenty feet of line between the barrels and where it disappears into the water. When the next harpoon is shot (the barrel shatters the cabin window) and the shark pulls Orca, that last barrel trails way ahead of Orca, its taught line being extremely shorter than the lines leading to the two other barrels, though the shark pulls them at the same time. However, once the cleats break off, the length of the three lines are identical in length. (01:44:15)
