Factual error: The morning after Dean and Rory fall asleep at Miss Patty's, when Patty wakes them up, she tells them it's five-thirty in the morning. When Rory runs out into the street, there is snow on the ground and the sun is up. In Connecticut, there is no time of year in which there would be both snow on the ground and sunlight at 5:30 a.m. (It's not streetlights either - in other episodes that take place at night in the town square, the streetlights do not light up the entire square - they are some distance apart, and their light is concentrated around the poles).
Lorelai's First Cotillion - S7-E3
Continuity mistake: When Emily asks Richard a question at the dinner table, he is holding a glass. In the next shot, when he answers, he is not holding the glass. (00:08:35)
Character mistake: This mistake happens in the town meeting scene. They are talking about the two business owners that dated, then moved when it ended badly. It hurt the town's economy. First it was said that Faye sold flowers and the guy sold candy. Then they said that Faye sold candy.
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene Lorelai crosses the street to Luke's which is in the middle of the block instead of on the corner of the block.
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Lorelai and Rory are in Luke's diner, after Lorelai moves her burger in front of her, the plate changes positions several times between shots.
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, and all episode, Luke's diner is considerably smaller than the rest of the series. He has a shelf with random hardware and fishing items that is a window the remainder of the series.
Visible crew/equipment: When Paris drops her book on the floor in English class, to jolt Rory out of her daydream stupor, a boom mic is visible above Liza Weil's head. (00:16:45)
Help Wanted - S2-E20
Audio problem: When Rory comes home alone and listens to her mom's message, she picks up the toy rabbi and its music plays, then the music stops when Rory's in the kitchen. When Rory answers the phone we hear the music start again, meaning someone picked the toy up. (00:27:10)
Double Date - S1-E12
Other mistake: When Rory and Lane get caught at the movies, Lorelai said she will not lie to Mrs. Kim because she has to respect that Mrs. Kim doesn't want Lane to do something. In reality, Lane is allowed to do things Mrs. Kim would not approve of all the time i.e. Listening to ungodly music, eating pizza, wearing different clothes.
Sadie, Sadie - S2-E1
Continuity mistake: When Richard enters to announce Rory being in the top 3% in her class his handkerchief is shown with 1 point. When he then walks to pour a drink and turns around, it has 2 points showing.
Rory's Birthday Parties - S1-E6
Visible crew/equipment: While Emily is instructing the servants before the party, when she tells one servant, "I want those six inches apart, get a ruler," there are two problems with this medium shot. First, lighting equipment is visible at the top right side of the screen over the lamp, and second, it's a flipped shot. Note the painting and lamp are reversed in the medium shot, compared to the next wideshot which is fine. (00:17:45)
Red Light on the Wedding Night - S2-E3
Visible crew/equipment: When Lorelai is talking to Babette about her shower in front of Luke's there is an audio guy crouched down hiding behind her in two shots. You can see his headphones. (00:22:55)
Other mistake: When Lorelai asks her mother which veil she should choose for her upcoming wedding to Max, Emily responds that her head is too big for a veil, and she could consider a tiara. When Lorelai responds quizzically with 'umm a tiara?' Emily says 'that's what I wore'. However, in s1e8, the photo album Rory looks through with her Grandparents features a picture of Emily and Richard that Emily calls their 'wedding photo' (in which she is pictured wearing a veil, not a tiara). Visible crew/equipment: In Logan's apartment, when Lanny is telling Logan that Cassandra called, an orange T mark is visible on the carpet to the right of Rory. (00:05:01)
Visible crew/equipment: When Lorelai, Sookie and Michele stand up to leave the table in Sookie's kitchen, a crew member pushes in the chair Michele was sitting in.
Continuity mistake: When Chris offered to make coffee, and he goes to the water stand, you can see there is already water in the coffee pot.
But Not as Cute as Pushkin - S5-E10
Continuity mistake: When Paris goes to speed dating Rory tells her it's 11 at night and her hair is up, but during speed dating, her hair is down and its daylight outside.
They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? - S3-E7
Continuity mistake: When Luke fixes Lorelai's shoe, he squeezes glue onto the broken heel and places the glue bottle down on the seat to his left, then he holds the heel to the shoe with both hands, but in the next shot that glue bottle is suddenly back in Luke's hand while he's still holding the heel to the shoe. (00:34:20)
They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? - S3-E7
Visible crew/equipment: Before the dance marathon, when Lorelai and Rory are headed over to the first aid station they meet up with Sookie, and when Lorelai and Sookie cross the street we can see the T-marks taped to the sidewalk. (00:15:15)
Chosen answer: Lorelai and Christopher get married impulsively in Paris but they get divorced shortly after returning home. I don't know the exact number of days or weeks but they definitely weren't married for more than a couple of months.
