Continuity mistake: The first time Helen and Faye try to leave, Helen tucks her purse under her left arm but in the next shot we see her move the purse from her right to her left arm again.
Continuity mistake: Frasier knocks the drinks over in Manu's newspaper stand. They had been sitting on a plastic tarp over some newspapers. In the next shot the plastic tarp is draped much differently, covering the papers more. No one touched it in the meantime.
Whine Club - S7-E17
Continuity mistake: When Niles and Mel are in his dressing room, Mel puts Niles' jacket on the table in the center. A couple of shots later, the jacket changes position, even though neither of them touched it.
The Dog That Rocks the Cradle - S7-E5
Continuity mistake: When Roz's date Ted returns her purse to her apartment, Bulldog answers the door. He barks at Ted and Ted nervously drops the purse. We see Bulldog close the door. He should have picked up the purse first, or he wouldn't have been able to close it. We do see him drop the purse in a chair as he heads to the kitchen, but we never actually see him pick it up.
Continuity mistake: When Lilith arrives at Frasier's, she is moving her hands, rearranging her wrap and her purse is in her left hand. Without time for her to change it, in the next shot her purse is in her right hand.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the show, Frasier gets a cup and saucer for Niles and pours him just a tiny bit of tea. But when we see the cup again, it's about 3/4 full.
Legal Tender Love and Care - S8-E6
Continuity mistake: Just before Niles sees Donny in the restaurant, the shot shows him holding his champagne in his right hand - but in the next shot he is looking at Donny and his glass is on the table.
Continuity mistake: When Niles and Roz are talking at the cabin, in some shots her sleeve is pushed up her arm and in some it is down to her wrist, with no time for her to change it.
To Thine Old Self Be True - S7-E20
Continuity mistake: Early on in the show, Frasier and Martin are having breakfast and we can see an orange napkin in Marty's lap. While he is talking, the camera angle behind his shoulder shows his left hand against his cheek. Right after that the napkin appears on the table to the left - with no time for him to have moved his hand and put it there.
Dad Loves Sherry, the Boys Just Whine - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: In Frasier's apartment, Sherry has just been introduced. Marty has a glass of wine down on the dining room table, next to another one. In the next shot the glass has shifted considerably, but the camera angle has remained the same.
Liar! Liar! - S4-E10
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, the KCAL gang are in Frasier's apt. celebrating the SeaBee awards. Bulldog is gloating about his win. At one point he has his left hand out in front of him and up in the air - the next shot the same hand is behind his back.
And Frasier Makes Three - S11-E20
Audio problem: There are two audio problems in this episode, both in the same scene. Frasier is in his apt. talking to Niles, Daphne, and Martin. After Marty says, "Wow, really?", we hear a couple of garbled words while Niles' lips move. Then as Frasier heads to the door, Daphne asks, "How'd he hurt himself anyway?" While she is saying this, we can hear a phone ringing faintly. It is not coming from on stage, no one moves to answer a phone, and it has no part of the plot.
Continuity mistake: When Lilith and Frasier are at Dr. Campbell's (the first time), he makes them tea. A shot shows him preparing it, pouring it, etc. But in the next shot, Frasier and Lilith are already holding their cups. There was not enough time for him to have passed them the cups.
First Date - S5-E20
Continuity mistake: Frasier and Niles are in the kitchen while Daphne is getting some fabric softener - Niles is holding a blue bottle of water up near his chest but in the next shot it is down by his waist.
The Bad Son - S8-E3
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene when Martin is talking to Duke on the phone, there is nothing on the table next to his chair. As the scene progresses, a remote appears on the table, even though Marty or anyone else places it there.
Dark Side of the Moon - S7-E22
Continuity mistake: While Frasier is talking to Daphne about wooing Holly, the wine bottle on the coffee table changes position more than once - from sitting on a book on the left of the tray to being on the bare table on the right and then back again to the left of the tray, but not on the book. Nobody touches it during this time.
Continuity mistake: While Frasier is on the phone to Mrs. Crawley, the shot goes to Daphne on the courch a couple of times, and the book and decorative item on the coffee table change position from shot to shot.
Dad Loves Sherry, the Boys Just Whine - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: Frasier tells his father Maureen wants to break up with him, and Marty heads for the kitchen, leaving his blue container of stomach medicine on the credenza. But as Marty passes by the dining room table, he suddenly has the container in his hand again.
Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
