Carrie (1976)

Continuity mistake: When Norma and Helen are in the salon, and they are talking about Carrie going to the prom with Tommy, Norma is getting a fancy hairdo done for the prom. But in the next gym scene, she has her plain braids and a cap on. (00:48:20)

Suggested correction: When you watch the movie leading up to that event, it's obvious that Norma is a tomboy, and is always wearing a ball cap and wearing her hair like that. It's who she is and perhaps decided after her hair was done that it didn't feel right and decided to go back to her look.

Halloween (1978)

Corrected entry: There's no way Annie could have locked herself in the laundry room considering the lock is on the outside of the door.

Correction: It's a figure of speech when one says 'I/you locked myself/yourself in/out'. She was alone, nobody knew that Michael was skulking around, and she got locked in the laundry room. Anyone would say they locked themselves in.

dewinela

That's pure opinion, not a correction.

Charles Austin Miller

In this scene, you can literally see her turn the lock knob which is above the handle before she tries to get out.

Correction: It's not a figure of speech since the door magically locked itself because the wind blew it shut. She tried to open it and it wouldn't open because the lock is on the outside. Why do you think she was trying to get out the window?

The point is she didn't literally lock herself in - she was locked in. Personally I think it's a minor semantic difference - she may well just think she did something wrong that led to the door locking itself. Regardless it's a standard turn of phrase, if technically inaccurate.

Jon Sandys

Plot hole: Since this was to be the last Halloween movie, there is still a major plot hole with the way things went to make Halloween Resurrection. Yes, Michael switched outfits with the paramedic. In Resurrection, one of the nurses says, "Well, why didn't the paramedic say something?" She responds that his windpipe was crushed. Yes, this prevents him from speaking, but it doesn't prevent him from taking off the mask, proving it's not Michael.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: He was thrown through a windshield, hit by a van, and pinned between a tree and the same van. The fact that the mask was on his head might not registered right away. It's not surprising that it would never occur to him to take the mask off if he's groggy from the ordeal.

dewinela

He was reaching for the mask, as if surprised he was wearing it, while pinned. I do understand your point, but I wonder why he didn't point to his face or at least try to remove it since he was obviously (in my opinion) aware of its presence at that point - and unable to speak due to his larynx being crushed. My biggest concern was that the authorities didn't remove the mask at the scene nor before loading him into the coroner van. Neither did Laurie/Kerri. Suspish.

H20 was meant to be the last film in the series and Michael was supposed to be killed off for good. The problem was created when they made the next film. So if anything, the mistake should have been included on that film's page, not on H20's.

Corrected entry: Considering the fact that there are neighbors all around the Myers' house, no one hears them screaming or anything? Also, when Sarah is on the roof, why doesn't she scream for help?

Correction: Prior to the night in question, the production team would have spent considerable time setting things up, which may have included speaking to the neighbours. There's also a van with the website's logo on it right outside that dropped off the people for the show. Finally, it's Halloween, so the neighbours most likely thought it was all scripted. As for Sarah not screaming for help, she was kind of preoccupied, not to mention that it being Halloween, she might have realised that no one was going to take her seriously.

dewinela

Correction: First off it's Halloween they might think that it was a prank. Second it has been said Michael Myers has been missing for 20 years, so they might thinks it's part of the act.

Correction: Watch the first film again. After her initial encounter with Michael, Laurie is pounding on a neighbour's door, pleading for help. They turn on the light, then turn it off again, disregarding her plea. What makes you think the neighbours would have been any different in this movie?

Friday the 13th (1980)

Corrected entry: When the truck driver drops off Annie, she starts walking down the road towards Crystal Lake. Yet we see the others in the red pickup drive down that same road and Annie is nowhere to be seen. It just happens to be Mrs Voorhees who picks her up.

Correction: Maybe they were already further along the road when Annie was dropped off at the crossroads, so they never crossed paths with her. Another possibility is that Mrs. Voorhees drove by first. It's a back road in the forest so it makes sense that Annie and the other counsellors never meet.

Correction: Once again your personal opinion.

Personal opinion or not, it's a valid explanation and entirely plausible.

Point is, there are possible explanations, therefore the posted mistake is not correct.

Family Guy (1999)

Correction: When Meg tells her mother she's dressed as a slutty cat, Meg is wearing her eyeglasses and pulls the cat mask down over her glasses, then she leaves the house. We see Meg is still wearing her glasses under her mask when Joe drives past her and her friends, right before they all enter the party.

Super Grover

Correction: Is it not possible that she may have had them in a pocket or somewhere and then put them on when she took the mask off?

dewinela

Her costume had no pockets. It showed her leaving the house without her glasses.

But it did show her leaving with her glasses on.

Some people wear regular clothes under a costume in the event that it might have been cold. Rhode Island might be a bit cold at that time of year (I live in southern Canada and it can be very cold on Halloween) Maybe her glasses were in a pocket under the costume.

dewinela

It seems like you didn't watch the scene before commenting and you're just guessing. She wasn't wearing normal clothes underneath and there were no pockets. The reason the mistake is incorrect is because, as stated, she is wearing them before she pulls her mask down and so she's wearing them under her mask when she leaves.

Corrected entry: When Ginny goes inside the shack she finds the shrine Jason made for his mom, with Terri's body on the floor. When did Jason find the time in between the killings to haul Terri's body all the way back to his shack and then go back to the camp?

Correction: Perhaps the shack wasn't all that far from where Jason killed Terri. He might have had time to take her there. Barring that, you should remember that Jason lived in those woods. He'd know every shortcut and could probably make it to the shack and return easily and quickly enough.

dewinela

Plot hole: Jason drags Vicky's body down the stairs. A minute later, Ginny and Paul come in the house and see nothing. Jason even has time to hide Sandra and Jeff's bodies by the time Ginny and Paul go upstairs. Not possible in a two minute time frame.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: We're not given a specified length of time between Vicki's murder and the time Paul and Ginny returned. He could have had enough time to hide Jeff and Sandra, but then they arrived as he was dragging Vicki down the stairs (you could hear them outside as we see this). We didn't see every closet or room, so the bodies could have been hidden anywhere.

Halloween 4 (1988)

Corrected entry: When Loomis and the sheriff are surrounded by the teens dressed like Michael Myers, Sheriff Meeker say's "If I catch you it's a weekend in jail" indicating that it's a Friday. Halloween was actually on a Monday in 1988.

Correction: Doesn't necessarily indicate it was a Friday. He was dealing with teens and they go to school throughout the week. He has the ability to choose to put them in jail over the weekend so they could go to classes or even make arrangements with employers if they have part time jobs. Also, missing out on a weekend would be very upsetting to a teen. It kind of works like Saturday detention. Barring that, it could simply be an empty threat to put some fear into them. He is the sheriff, so he could make any threat he wanted to to get them to behave.

Factual error: After your head is cut off, you wouldn't be able to hold your hands in the air and make fists because your brain controls your ability to do this.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Not really. There's such a thing as a death twitch. The a chicken's brain controls the ability to run, jump, and flap its wings, but it does just that after its head is cut off. A person could involuntarily clench their fists repeatedly when they've been decapitated.

dewinela

You're comparing two different animals. The chicken with its head cut off that is still running around is still controlled by the brain. Part of a chicken's brain rests in the neck and when beheaded, it's possible not all of the brain is severed. This is not what happens to a beheaded human. There is a difference between a cadaveric spasm and clenching and unclenching your raised hands.

Corrected entry: When Barnes is knocked out in the dojo fight, he falls to his left, in the next shot he is laying as if he fell to his right.

Correction: Mike was thrown into a wall, so he probably rolled over to his right when he hit the floor.

Halloween (2007)

Corrected entry: The news reporter says Judith was stabbed 17 times, but Michael only stabs her five times then goes to get the baby, then goes outside and waits for his mother to get home.

Correction: We only see him stab her five times, but he could have stabbed her much more then that. The news also said that Ronnie was stabbed in the face and heart but we only see Michael slit his throat after he duct tapes him to the chair. We see what we see on the screen, but it doesn't mean that they're the only actions Michael performs.

Plot hole: Daniel first needs Miyagi's signature (which Miyagi refuses) to enter the tournament. However the rest of the movie focuses on Daniel's signature needed to enter instead. Didn't Miyagi officially need to sign? How did it suddenly switch?

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Daniel's entrance into the tournament was engineered by Silver. Mike got Daniel to sign, then had Silver or Kreese sign as the sensei. Silver started training Daniel shortly after, so he is the most likely one to have gotten him in. When the plot was exposed, Miyagi and Daniel probably contacted the tournament officials and corrected it. They wouldn't have told them about the plot since they knew it would have meant more trouble with Silver, Kreese and Barnes, so it's plausible that Daniel could have gotten into the tournament without Miyagi's signature.

Wishmaster (1997)

Corrected entry: The Djinn grants two wishes to Alex's boss: One for making the item on his desk "100 times more valuable", then granting him $1 million by having his mother die in a plane crash. He is only able to grant one wish to a person (save for the one who releases him from the Opal). The Djinn directly states that he can't grant more than one wish to a single person in the second film, when the Russian asks him for a second wish.

Knever

Correction: At first glance, that would be correct. However, look a little more closely. Earlier in the film, he seems to grant two wishes to the sales girl and the security guard. In all cases, including with Alex's boss, he asks them to tell them what they wanted but in all three cases, it wasn't what they desired, but more something along the lines of what they needed to do in the course of their work. Each time it was merely a demonstration of his power (asking the sales girl if she preferred cash for a purchase, telling the security guard to ask him for something, and Alex's boss if he wanted something to be more valuable and then granting those wishes) in order to tempt them to make a wish that was much more personal to them (sales girl stating to always be beautiful, to see him go through the security guard, and a million dollars for Alex's boss). For example, he tricked the scientist, the bum, the detective, the doctor, the bouncer at Beaumont's party, Beaumont, and Wendy each into making a personal wish without having to demonstrate his power first. The wish he had to grant was a personal desire of the wisher's own free will and not something they were directed into making when it wasn't something personal.

Correction: I've taken showers where all I've done is rinse off without getting my hair wet. Maybe that's all Alice wanted to do.

dewinela

Correction: When you are washing your face under the shower head your hair is going to get wet.

Why? It's easy to keep most of your hair dry while still washing your face by simply leaning your head back.

Jukka Nurmi

Thank you. Another way is to keep your head and face away from the sprayer, cup your hands, let water pool in them and splash them on your face. Point is, there are ways to take showers without getting your hair wet. My hair is longer than Alice's was in this movie and I can do it, so why wouldn't Alice be able to?

Friday the 13th (1980)

Corrected entry: Why didn't the truck driver take Annie all the way to Crystal Lake? He only took her halfway. So she had to walk ten more miles.

Correction: Perhaps he dropped her off there because it was the closest he could get without significantly going out of his way. He was a truck driver that was working and they usually have deadlines for their deliveries, so maybe he took her as close as he could without interfering with his run. In fact, it was the waitress' idea he drop her off there since he was going that way and the crossroads would be the halfway point.

dewinela

Correction: Maybe he was only going that far because he didn't really want to enter the camp; it was "cursed" after all, so I'm sure he just wanted to stay as far away as possible.

Corrected entry: Jason is strong and indestructible yet he can't break the chain off the boulder and get loose?

Correction: Being in the lake makes it harder for Jason to be able to break the chain. Besides, he had taken the propeller of the boat to his neck at the end of the previous film, so that may have affected his strength and ability to heal.

Corrected entry: Assuming that the shells for the shotguns were kept in the locked drawer, why didn't Alice just go ahead and try to break it open? She had the time to do it with Pamela being knocked out so why not go ahead and have the gun loaded just in case?

Correction: If you're referring to when Alice hit Pamela with the frying pan, it probably never occurred to her. She thought she killed her in self defense (there's blood from her ear on the floor when Alice rolls her over), ending her ordeal and was safe even if she was close to being drained mentally, psychologically, and physically. Besides, how would Alice have thought that she'd find the gun again if she went back? She used the gun as a club against Pamela and left it there earlier and ran away, so Pamela might have hidden it. If you're referring to when she first found the gun, Pamela was not knocked out and Alice was panicking, not thinking straight and trying to open the drawer. She knew that Pamela could find her in the office at any second, which she did. The problem with either scenario is using the word 'assuming'. We, and Alice, aren't sure if the bullets were in the drawer, so the only time it would have been worth it to her was when she found the gun. After she thought she killed her, she wouldn't have any need for it, or so she thought, and that would fall under character mistake.

Corrected entry: When the two teenagers find the axe in the bed, the axe is perfectly clean despite the fact it had been shoved through a girl's head. Furthermore, it also looks brand new with a fresh coat of polish on it as well. (00:56:45)

Correction: Mrs Voorhees was a bit of an opportunistic killer, sometimes using whatever was at hand. For example, she used the camp's arrows to kill Jack and Bill. Since they were working on fixing the place up, there may have been many axes at the camp. Steve was using one on a stump when Marcie, Jack, and Ned arrived and since there were a lot of trees around that may need to have been removed he most likely would have had more than one. Mrs Voorhees could have left the axe she used to kill Marcie in her face and then took a brand new one to place in the bed for the other counsellors to find.

Orphan (2009)

Corrected entry: Esther's Bible was brought with her from the institution in Estonia, but it is in English in the close up shots. Given the difficulty Kate had finding someone there who spoke English, it's unlikely their reading materials would be in English.

lemon floor wax

Correction: Esther lived with many families before making her way to the US and could have obtained it while living with one of them. She also worked as a child prostitute and could have received it as a gift or stolen it from one of her johns. The institute would be unlikely to not allow her to keep her Bible during her time there after she arrived. It's possible that it may have belonged to the institute and she stole it, but it's not a huge stretch to think they might keep an English copy for any patients that might want one. Given that Esther spoke English extremely well, it isn't a huge stretch of imagination to think she'd get an English Bible in Estonia somehow.
