Corrected entry: Why doesn't Picard go ahead and use the holo-ship to his advantage by transporting the Ba'ku people onto the ship itself or at least to the mountains instead of the pointless walk all the way to safety?

Correction: Presumably because he doesn't have control over the holoship, Admiral Dougherty or Ru'afo do.

Greg Dwyer

Corrected entry: When Austin gets out cigarettes for the fembots they are black when they are in his mouth, but when he flings them into the bots' mouths they are white and tan without a speck of black.

Correction: It's the same cigarettes. They're not black, but all you see us the underside shadowed by the overhead lighting.

Corrected entry: If the population of the planet was still between 6-7 billion before the third World War and 600 million were killed from the war, then how did the population jump up to 9 billion when everyone would have been a Borg in Picard's time?

Correction: Why would the population be only 6-7 billion? That's the current population. Estimates place the 2063 population at over 10 billion. That can easily leave 9 billion with the WWIII losses.

Eddie (1996)

Corrected entry: In the final game vs the Hornets, the visitor team is wearing black shoes except for Larry Johnson. According to NBA rules the whole team must wear the same color shoes.

ozwal13

Correction: The only recourse is a fine. This is how Air Jordans became so popular. Michael Jordan breached the rules wearing them during games and Nike paid the fines. It's certainly possible a player as popular as Larry Johnson has a similar deal in this movie.

Rambo (2008)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Rambo is taking the good Samaritans in his boat to Burma, the woman talking to Rambo asks him "how he got into all of this." Rambo replies that he was drafted into Vietnam. However, during the first two Rambo films, it is stated several times by Rambo himself, Colonel Trautman, and even Murdoc (when reading over Rambo's military records) that Rambo joined (volunteered, not drafted) the Special Forces in 1964.

Correction: Rambo may have been drafted, but it was his choice to join Special Forces. All American military Special Forces are volunteer only.

Judge Dredd (1995)

Corrected entry: After the prison ship crashes the search team come along and find the pilot alive, but the Angel family already checked the wreckage for survivors so there shouldn't be anyone there.

Correction: The pilot could have faked being dead, or been unconscious.

Cast Away (2000)

Other mistake: In the cave we see Tom Hanks drawing an analemma without a precise timekeeper, which is needed to draw one. What he could have done is a meridian rect, which is build with the meridian time. The analemma is the differential chart between the solar time and civil time.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: No, what we see is Tom Hanks drawing a chalk outline on a wall to approximate the date. There is no reason to assume he got it exactly right or knew exactly what he was doing. He probably started just by drawing lines on the cave wall to mark the days then noticed the light.

Greg Dwyer

I'm afraid "just drawing lines" doesn't create the well-crafted analemma you see in the movie. A very precise time-keeping device is necessary: just a minute off will dramatically change the shape.

Correction: There were rumors about them. That's why her parents set out to try and find them and learn about them.

The El-Aurian refugees rescued in "Generations" were refugees from the Borg assimilating their world. Even for a race of listeners, some of them presumably spoke about what happened in the 80 years before the Enterprise-D encountered the Borg at J-25. It just wasn't given much importance at the time given that it was a very long way from Federation space. The Hansens dig out these old forgotten reports and decided to investigate.

Corrected entry: How could a phenomenon like the Nexus travel the galaxy every 39.1 years and nobody know about it for so long? Kirk and the Enterprise-B didn't know what it was, even Picard had to ask Guinan what it was. If the energy ribbon is what killed James T. Kirk that would have been standard knowledge for everyone in Starfleet.

Correction: The galaxy is an unbelievably huge place, with new things being discovered all the time. It's certainly possible the Enterprise-B was the first ship to encounter it and survive to report it.

Harrison Bergeron (1995)

Corrected entry: After Harrison spends the night absorbing pre-Revolutionary culture, he asks Philippa who the old man playing King Lear was and she replies "Macauley Culkin." Early in the film, we established that the revolution took place in 2018, which means Macauley Culkin would only be at most 38 years old, so not an "old man".

Captain Defenestrator

Correction: Certain people don't age well. You can also add in the certain possibility of a celebrity using drugs and alcohol, causing them to age faster. He could also simply be in makeup as King Lear.

Men in Black II (2002)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, Serlena eats, then regurgitates the hood. The clothes he had on show no signs of dampness, or any other bodily fluids.

Movie Nut

Correction: Serlena is not a human. We have no idea what the digestive system of her species is like. It may be a dry digestion.

Bruce Almighty (2003)

Corrected entry: When Bruce says he's Clint Eastwood and hides the handgun under his shirt, then goes to throw it in the garbage can, you can see that he's not holding a gun, but a Channel 7 news microphone. (00:32:10)

rainbowtrees

Correction: That's the joke. First he says he's Clint Eastwood, so he has a gun. Then he panics and says he's Bruce Nolan, therefore it becomes the microphone from his TV station.

Ghostbusters 2 (1989)

Corrected entry: Winston is present at the trial for Ray, Egon and Peter, but when the slime erupts, he's nowhere to be found when the Ghostbusters could really use the help!

neiliohara

Correction: He had no proton pack or other equipment, so he may have been trying to keep himself safer and to keep the others from having to protect him. Besides, we don't see him except for the first part of the trial. He may have been gone later.

The Joker Is Wild - S11-E4

Corrected entry: To avoid being the last victim of the jokes, Hawkeye sets his bed up in the compound, surrounding it with barbed wire. Trouble is, the wire is wrapped in such a way as it would be impossible to him get over or through without getting cut to shreds.

Movie Nut

Correction: He probably stepped into the circle of his cot then pulled the wire around him.
