Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
Corrected entry: When Dr. Evil drinks Austin Powers' mojo, the song "Let's Get it On" by Marvin Gaye starts playing. This song was written in 1973, but Dr. Evil was supposed to have travelled to 1969. (00:37:30)
Correction: He could have brought it back with him.

Gifted (2017)
Corrected entry: On the first day of school the teacher asks Mary a math question and she has nothing in her hands. When Mary answers, the teacher magically has a calculator in her hand to check Mary's answer.
Correction: She doesn't magically have it in her hands. She walks over to her desk to pick it up.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Corrected entry: During the practice rounds, the question was asked about what was the densest element. The answer given was "Uranium" (19.1 g/cubic cm). The correct answer is Osmium with a density of 22.59 g/cubic cm).
Correction: They asked which element was the heaviest, meaning the highest atomic weight. Uranium is correct.
Neptunium and Plutonium have been discovered naturally in trace amounts as well, meaning that uranium is also incorrect if measuring atomic weight and not density.

Gifted (2017)
Corrected entry: The entire climax of the movie makes no sense. Since the grandmother was staying in the guest house, how would her being allergic to the cat affect her, since the cat was in the main house with her granddaughter? And even if one can rationalize a scenario where the grandmother would be in contact with the cat, why wouldn't the guardians just call the uncle to tell him to pick up the cat? And even if one can say that perhaps the grandmother didn't want the guardians to tell the uncle, why? To be spiteful to her granddaughter? Why? The grandmother had no legal power over the guardians to tell them not to tell the uncle that she was there. And the guardians never would have done that to the granddaughter-who obviously loved the cat. Even if the granddaughter were staying with her grandmother in the guest house, i.e., the cat couldn't stay in the guest house because of the allergic grandmother, then the guardians would have kept the cat in their house where the granddaughter could go anytime to see the cat. There's too much of a suspension of disbelief to accept this major plot point.
Correction: 1) Mary is spending lots of time in the guest house with her grandmother, bringing in cat dander on her clothing. 2) They didn't want Frank to know that she was there. 3) Mary was supposed to be there in the care of the foster family, but is essentially still under the control of her grandmother, which was against the agreement they made in court.

Trolls (2016)
Corrected entry: At the beginning when the trolls escape from the tree, the escape tunnel was destroyed by the Bergens' digging. When Poppy and Branch go back to Bergen town, the tunnel is suddenly unblocked.
Correction: It's possible the Cloud unblocked it.

Moana (2016)
Corrected entry: At the end of Maui's song "You're Welcome", he tricks her into entering the cave and then proceeds to slide a huge rock to the entrance so she can't get out and stop him from stealing her boat. Surely, he knows she would soon die of thirst or starvation in there as she is a "mortal"? She is only able to get out through luck and her skills. A bit concerning really.
Correction: This isn't a mistake. Maui doesn't care about anything other than escaping at this point.
I can't remember what category I put this as but it should definitely be down as Stupidity at least. He's meant to be a good guy but he knowingly trapped Moana in a cave with no exit. She would have died of thirst or starved to death. Regardless of his reasoning, this was stupid for a character, who's meant to be good, to do.

Moana (2016)
Corrected entry: TeKa is revealed to be TeFiti. The space where she slept as an island is a huge pit in the ocean. TeKa can't touch the water, but somehow managed to travel from her resting place to the barrier islands surrounding it where she's been trapped for 1,000 years.
Correction: When TeKa transformed back into TeFiti, she did it slowly. It's possible the original transformation was slow enough that TeFiti got to the barrier island before transforming into TeKa. The ocean could also have split like it did, allowing TeKa to attempt to catch Maui before he got away.

The Military Miniaturization - S10-E2
Corrected entry: When Raj and Howard are trying to decide whether to accept Col. Williams' offer, they can't think of any lawyers to ask for help with potential legal issues; they both seem to be forgetting that they do know a lawyer: Raj's sister Priya.
Correction: Given how things ended with Priya and Leonard, it probably would have been very awkward for both of them. In addition, she knows far more about Indian law than American law.
It is noted (by Leonard) in a previous episode that Priya is qualified to practice law "in three countries, and your face!" Presumably, as she is there for some time, works for a law firm, etc, one of those three countries is the US.

The Sound of Music (1965)
Corrected entry: After the boat overturns on the lake, and Maria is on the terrace in debate with the Captain, she ends with "I'm not finished" He responds with "Oh yes you are, Captain" then pauses and says "fraulein" [correcting his quite obviously misspoken dialogue with an embarrassed expression on his face; and then the camera captures Julie Andrews' surprised expression when he mistakenly calls her 'Captain'].
Correction: It's not a mistake in the film, it's Captain von Trapp being flustered and misspeaking. It's written this way in the play too.

M*A*S*H (1972)
Corrected entry: Radar is talking with Henry. In this episode, Radar is smoking a cigar, and drinking alcohol, something he did in "Chief Surgeon Who?" But in a later episode, he has trouble when Potter is trying to teach how to smoke a cigar.
Correction: Dr Freedman explains this as the war causing Radar to regress to a more childlike state, helped along by Potter as more of a father figure.

Doc Hollywood (1991)
Corrected entry: Why would Michael J. Fox be driving through South Carolina if he is traveling from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, CA?
Correction: He was traveling south first, then west, since he's moving to Southern California.
Any highway route I was able to find (using Google Maps) that went through even the northernmost tip of South Carolina, added a minimum of 4 hours to the cross-country trip (43 vs. 39 hours). While I know that they didn't have Google Maps (or even MapQuest) in 1991 when "Doc Hollywood" was released, AAA and other travel services did have software and maps to advise people on best routes when travelling long distances...and if you didn't consult them, everyone who travelled had advice. Using I-40W across America was (and still is) the most direct route, and goes nowhere near South Carolina. In other words, if he went through SC...he either intended to-for some reason not stated in the film-or he was lost, driving randomly through the rural South, taking the "scenic route", because he was further south off the "best route" (and main roads) than a simple detour due to construction could have caused. He would have had to start off going in the "wrong" direction from the beginning.
Correction: Why wouldn't he travel by air? Faster, simpler and probably cheaper. When I was transferred from our head office in London to our branch in York I drove via Torquay in Cornwall, Bounewouth in Devon, Cardiff in Wales and Chesterfield in Derbyshire. Look that up on Google Maps if you like. I was having fun, travelling about and seeing the sights like all tourists do. That's what Doc Hollywood was planning to do.

The Last Samurai (2003)
Factual error: In the scene before the Americans are to be introduced to the emperor, they are told that the "Meiji" emperor is reform minded. However, Meiji is a posthumous era name, in other words, given after the emperor's death, which occurred many years later, whereas he is still very young in the period depicted.
Suggested correction: They are using modern terms and words so that the film and characters are easier to understand.
It doesn't change the fact that this is a factual error, no matter the reason behind it.
Yes it does. Almost nobody outside Japan would have known the name "Mutsuhito." Films often use modern terminology to make things easier for audiences to understand. Like saying "vegetarian" instead of the older term "Pythagorean."

The Hesitation Ramification - S7-E12
Corrected entry: When Sheldon comes to tell Leonard and Penny his perfect joke he is wearing a plain green T-shirt, but when Penny leaves and he begins to tell Leanord about it, his shirt now has a black symbol on it.
Correction: The symbol is there the entire time. It's just very difficult to see.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
Corrected entry: When Harry is preparing a new Quidditch team, and after Ginny shouts for everyone to shut up, there is a man walking behind the goal posts in the background. Normally this could be just any other character, but the man is wearing regular trousers and a long shirt or jacket.
Correction: Everyone is wearing normal clothing. It could easily be another student.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Corrected entry: At the start, Josh deals everyone a single card and is stopped and told to deal to the left. Camera cuts to another angle and everyone has 5 cards in their hands. (00:06:10)
Correction: It's a montage of everything that happens in the game over several hands. It's not meant to be one shot.

The Godfather
Corrected entry: At the hospital, Michael must defend his father, so he and Enzo the baker stand on the steps to the entrance of the hospital. The Turk's hit men drive up, see them, and drive away. Very soon, McCloskey and a large group of cops drive up, sirens blaring. They obviously have been informed by the hit men of the Godfather's new protection, and are there to rectify the situation. The problem is, that from the moment the hit men leave and the police sirens are first heard, only 22 seconds have passed. There is no way in this cell phoneless era that the hit men could have found McCloskey, informed him of the changed situation, and then have this police task force assemble and drive to the hospital.
Correction: The police were likely right behind them to protect them in case something happened. When they saw that the car didn't stop and have its occupants exit, they drove up.

The Big Bang Theory (2007)
The Electric Can Opener Fluctuation - S3-E1
Corrected entry: At the end of the episode, Sheldon runs off to Texas. That would be impossible in the short time frame the episode was set in. Especially since they live in Pasadena, California. California is 18 hours away by car from Texas. It has also been stated previously that Sheldon dislikes cars and airplanes a lot.
Correction: Just because he dislikes planes, doesn't mean that he will never go on one, as proven by him traveling by plane to Texas with Howard.

Apollo 13 (1995)
Corrected entry: In the scene just before everyone at the Lovell's residence watches the moon landing on television, Pete Conrad explains how he appreciates everyone coming to his dress rehearsal party for his Apollo 12 landing. In the shot just before he says this you can see Jim Lovell with a cigar in his mouth, but as the shot changes from a wide angle to Pete Conrad speaking you can hear Jim Lovell saying "Oh, sit down Conrad!" How can he be speaking so or at all with a large cigar in his mouth? (00:03:30)
Correction: It's certainly possible. It just takes practice.

Batman: The Animated Series (1992)
Heart of Ice - S1-E3
Corrected entry: Mr. Freeze's cell at Arkham Asylum has been modified to accommodate his inability to survive outside of sub-zero temperatures, but his cell has a barred window which could easily allow warmer weather to interfere with the temperature regulation (the episode's opening scene states that Gotham is in the midst of the hottest August on record). (00:21:00)
Correction: A single small window even in an area of high heat would not be able to interfere that much in a sub-freezing room with a dedicated hyper-cooling system.
