The African Queen (1951)

Revealing mistake: Soon after Rose gets onto The African Queen, she wants to put her bag down somewhere, but there's nothing there, so obviously a crew member takes the basket from underneath and slowly drops it out of sight.

Earthquake (1974)

Earthquake mistake picture

Revealing mistake: Near the beginning, after a couple of small earthquakes, Fred comes flying out of the dam elevator shaft with a whole heap of water, dead from drowning. But you can see him lift his head out of the water seconds before his friend turns him over and finds him definitely dead.

The Crying Game (1992)

Revealing mistake: About halfway through, when Dil throws the goldfish bowl out the window, the goldfish aren't flapping around on the ground, like they should do; they're either dead or fake fish.

Suggested correction: Of course, the fish are dead. They were thrown out an upper floor window, and the bowl smashed onto the street. The man even picks one up and yells "murderer" after he sees it dead.

And No Birds Sing - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: The first time we see the land rover, Rosemary's hair is flat, with the window closed; then, suddenly, her hair is being blown around, as if the window is open to accommodate a camera.

Continuity mistake: Three-quarters into the film, Jacob brings Rosie, the elephant, to Reece Witherspoon's tent. Her husband, August, appears and seconds later there is, out of the blue, a cigarette between his fingers.

The Omen (1976)

Revealing mistake: When Damian knocks Lee Remick over the balcony with his tricycle, five big goldfish in a bowl get knocked over, too. But the fish don't move; they don't flap around like fish do out of water. They are obviously fake fish.

The Omen (1976)

Other mistake: Gregory Peck and David Warner are attacked in the cemetery by four large vicious dogs, who attack their throats, arms and legs, but once they escape, the only wound seen is the one on Gregory Peck who hurt his arm while climbing over the fence.
