Jaws (1975)

Corrected entry: At the beginning, Sheriff Brody walks onto the "boat" that takes people and, at most, two cars across the water to the mainland. A car joins Brody with 3 men, the medical examiner, the major and the newspaper man. Brody has been told, by the medical examiner, that it was a shark attack that killed the young woman who swam at night (the first death in the film) but now he is being coerced into saying it was a boating accident. Meanwhile, the man who handles the "boat" has already put it in reverse, heading back where they have come from Nonetheless, the mayor says, "You can take us back now." Turning around, he would have seen the folly in his words.

kh1616

Correction: Rewatch this scene. Brody, Vaughn, et al., board Amity ferry scow (in reality the On Time scow). Brody tells Charlie to take him to the kids swimming off shore across the water (Chappaquiddick Island). They cast off from Dock St ferry landing, and just as the lighthouse is in the background, the Captain turns the scow to dock at the 2nd ferry landing ramp properly. Distance between the 2 ferry landings is approx 520 ft. When Vaughn says, "Take us back now," we see the 1st landing behind them.

Airport (1970)

Corrected entry: When the bombed plane lands, the pilot pulls the throttle all the way back and is seen turning something off, but a few seconds later, his hand is again on the throttle, which is positioned halfway, as it used to be.

kh1616

Correction: The captain is engaging reverse thrust. The throttle levers have two handles set at about 90° to each other. When the throttles are at idle, the reversing levers could easily be mistaken for the throttles at half thrust. This lever is then unlocked and pulled backwards to engage the reversers.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: The password for the money has 5 letters, but later Vesper puts in 6 letters; her name Vesper, the password, has 6 letters.

kh1616

Correction: Bond definitely pushes 6 buttons to enter the password the first time. 1H 10M.

Correction: She put the baby in the woods to give him to Carlos, the father.

White House Down (2013)

Corrected entry: After the explosion - I think the first one - the terrorists are going around killing the security men and taking their weapons - with one security man down and his gun on the floor, there is a yellow marker under his gun, we see the marker when the gun is taken. Maybe the yellow marker is there as a position marker, so the actor knows where to put his gun after he has been "killed" and fallen down. (00:31:50)

kh1616

Correction: The 'marker' actually looks like it is a metal plate with screws attached to the floor itself. So I don't think it is a marker at all.

Correction: The yellow marker is actually from a barrel bolt used on the door. Here is an example https://www.amazon.co.uk/BARREL-SLIDE-CRANKED-OFFSET-SCREWS/dp/B007KQAAGQ.

Lucy (2014)

Corrected entry: Originally, there are four blue bags. Lucy eats the remainder of her bag, which leaves three bags. When Lucy needs all of the remaining blue bags to go into IV infusions, they put up four when it should have been three.

kh1616

Correction: She does not eat the entirety of her package of drugs on the plane. While she is in drugged sleep after the airplane, you see the doctor hand Del Roy a package with some of the drug still in it. Later, when the case is opened at the university, there are three full bags of drugs, and one that is about a quarter full. That is what remains of hers.

Blithe Spirit (1945)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, Madame Macarti, talking to the spirits, says, "Is anyone there? One rap for yes and two raps for no." Well, if no-one is there, there will be no two raps.

kh1616

Correction: This is meant to be a joke. The characters themselves are laughing at the absurdity of the medium.

Doctor Zhivago (1965)

Corrected entry: When we first meet Lara, she is 17, and she calls Viktor "monsieur", even though they are in Moscow.

kh1616

Correction: French was widely spoken by the elite in Czarist Russia.

Corrected entry: At the cemetery, there is a very loud, coming-at-the-most-annoying-time chiming clock. Every time it goes off, we are shown the sight of the hammer hitting a largish bell. Count the chimes - there are 14.

kh1616

Correction: It isn't a clock. It's a tolling bell, as a burial is about to take place.

Skyfall (2012)

Corrected entry: After Bond has done an endurance test, he winces when he takes off his T-shirt and rubs his right shoulder, but he was shot in the left shoulder.

kh1616

Correction: He gets shot twice, once by Moneypenny in the right shoulder, and previously by Patrice with the depleted uranium round in the other side.

Poltergeist (1982)

Corrected entry: The bedroom door to the kids' room is always locked, but when the mother wants to open the door, she does so without a key. Later when the little ghost-clearance expert lady wants to go in, she finds the door locked and the father has to unlock the door with the key.

kh1616

Correction: They only locked the door after the girl disappeared to keep people out. Not before.

lartaker1975

Correction: The door was unlocked by the one scientist who went upstairs to investigate what was going on and ended up getting bit by something. The door was still unlocked after he left and was probably locked again later before Tangina arrived.

Twelve Monkeys (1995)

Corrected entry: In the second half of the film James Cole, unrecognisable with all the clothes he's wearing, his face covered - Dr Railly, herself, for the first ten minutes, doesn't know who it is that has kidnapped her and her car - is somehow known to the police. The authorities, her friends, all say it was James Cole who kidnapped her, but they couldn't have, it was impossible. Also, Dr Railly's car was away from everyone at that time - she was leaving the party early, so they could not have known who he was, but they do.

kh1616

Correction: Shortly after Kathryn is kidnapped there is a short scene where the police are searching her office for clues and gathering info from one of her Secretaries. You can also a recording being played back stating that James was looking for her at her office, asking around trying to locate her. Later there is a TV excerpt at the hotel where she's tied to the bed stating that James was wanted for questioning. After further investigation, and given James' history, its not a stretch for the police to key James as the primary suspect in the kidnapping.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

Corrected entry: Pepper is in hospital with an IV line in her arm. A nurse comes in and injects a drug into the line. The problem is: The nurse doesn't kink the line above where she injects, which means the drug can go up the line and into the IV bag as well as going down the line. When a drug is ordered IV, the doctor who ordered the drug wants it to go in quickly, not slowly from the bag or upper tubing.

kh1616

Correction: IV lines have reflux valves. You never have to "kink" the line for the medication to go only to the patient. Secondly she's not in a hospital, she's imprisoned at a ship yard, so there isn't a doctor or a nurse. Just a guy in a collared shirt and pants. Lastly "the doctor" doesn't want you to bolus (push in quickly) all medications, eg. Adenosine should be pushed over 6 min. If you bolus adenosine it will stop your heart. Pain medications are pushed in over 2 min, and usually bolused in to the IV line port (which again does not need to be kinked) The dripping IV fluid will push it in slowly, preventing that head rush junkies love.

Blindspot (2015)

Pilot - S1-E1

Corrected entry: Near the end, the man, who we believe is behind Jane's predicament, walks into Chao's private room - where are the police guarding him - wearing scrubs, a doctor's white coat and a surgical mask. First off, doctors wear scrubs or a white coat, not both together, and they only wear surgical masks in theatre, nowhere else.

kh1616

Correction: The man who takes him isn't a doctor, he's trying to pretend to be one. He wears the mask to cover his face from the camera. The police simply don't know these "rules" that doctors don't wear lab coats and scrubs together and simply don't think it's weird he's wearing a mask.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: When Bond loses all his chips at the poker match, Felix tells Bond he will give him his chips to play with, but Felix is seen still playing later, which he shouldn't be; he doesn't have any chips.

kh1616

Correction: Leiter is offering to stake the five million for Bond's buy-back to return to the game after Vesper refused. He says at the time that he's almost out of chips and knows he can't beat Le Chiffre, but he thinks Bond can do it.

Captain Defenestrator

3rd May 2017

The Book Thief

Corrected entry: Page 35 - near the end of the darkened words, it reads, "it involved bashing her with wooden spoon..." It should read, "it involved bashing her with a wooden spoon..."

kh1616

Correction: The full quote is "it involved bashing her with wooden spoon and words at various intervals". While the indefinite article could be used, it is not needed because it became part of a plural noun. A definitive or indefinite article would be needed if the line was as written in the mistake, but the full sentence is grammatically correct.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: Clarice is told that Miggs is dead; he swallowed his tongue. That is impossible; the worst that can happen is a person can bite their tongue.

kh1616

Correction: "Swallowed his tongue" is common parlance for choked on his own tongue, which is entirely possible. It does not mean he literally swallowed his tongue.

The Specialist (1994)

Corrected entry: When Stallone calls Sharon Stone from a public phone, he doesn't put any money in the phone; the same when he boards a bus - he doesn't pay there, either.

kh1616

Correction: He shoves a coin in the phone. You can hear it when the phone accepted it.

World War Z (2013)

Corrected entry: At WHO in Wales, when the Israeli girl, Jerry and another man are sneaking into B wing, as they bend down and creep past an open area, trying not to attract attention from the zombies, the girl leaves her baseball bat behind, but, later, she has it back.

kh1616

Correction: Watch closely - she has given the baseball bat to the WHO man (you can see him holding both it and his own crowbar), both right before and right after they have both crossed in front of the doorway. At some point after this, he gives it back to her, which explains why she has it again later.

Casino Royale (2006)

Corrected entry: When Bond shoots Mr White in the leg, he drops his mobile, but it's there, so why doesn't he pick it up and call someone - an ambulance, maybe - instead of crawling in agony to his front door?

kh1616

Correction: He's crawling for cover. What good is an ambulance, or anyone else, going to do him when he's obviously being shot at right that very moment? Wasting time uselessly fiddling with his phone would have been the stupidity.
