Dirty Mary Crazy Larry mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the Charger emerges from the groves after repairs, it is chased by the 'Hot Rod' police car. Close-ups of the policeman show he is wearing black gloves, but shots from the Charger, looking rearward show a very obvious stuntman who is driving barehanded. (01:19:55)

Christine (1983)

Christine mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Christine is crushed and dropped from the junkyard crane, the side facing Dennis, Leigh and Junkins shows a steel wheel very prominently. As they talk, they are looking right at it, and when the shot returns to the cube, the wheel is gone, replaced by Christine's mangled grillwork and front bumper- as if the cube has spun 180 degrees. The viewing angle is unchanged, evidenced by the crane's tread belts and the area in the background, and if the cube were 'morphing', the 3 characters would have seen it and reacted. (01:45:10)

Christine (1983)

Continuity mistake: When Christine is about to push the Camaro sideways into the service bay, an interior shot looking at Trelawney in the bay, screaming, shows that the Camaro is already moving sideways before it is hit by Christine, yet the next exterior shows it isn't moving yet. (01:15:55)

Christine (1983)

Continuity mistake: When Buddy stops his Camaro in front of the fuel station's service bay, the car is oriented at about a 45% angle to the facade of the building. But as he and the others step out, the car is parallel to the facade. This is even more obvious just as Christine crashes into the Camaro for the first time. (01:15:05)

Christine (1983)

Continuity mistake: When Leigh is choking inside the car at the drive-in, the speaker hanging on the driver-side door glass changes location. When the interior is dark, it is forward, against the vertical chrome bar. As the interior gets brighter, the shot from the back seat looking forward shows the speaker is completely missing. When the interior gets really bright, inside shots show the speaker is a few inches rearward from the original location while exterior shots show its move even further forward. And when dark again, the speaker is where it was at the start. (00:47:40)

Christine (1983)

Christine mistake picture

Continuity mistake: As Arnie runs after Leigh at the drive-in, he arrives under the awning with his hair slightly wet, but still rather full-looking. But in the next close-up, it's soaked flat onto his head. (00:45:40)

Deliberate mistake: As the sub rises backwards to the surface, the stern emerges from the water at a steep angle, then rises near-vertically so that the boat is virtually standing on the tip of its bow. Anything left loose on a countertop would surely fall off. But when the boat falls onto its belly, a close-up shows a pistol sliding off a sink counter into the hand of the Captain- because it's dramatic and cool looking, yet extremely improbable- especially considering that an open tin of shaving foam, its lid and a foam brush all lay on the same counter, undisturbed. (01:27:30)

Continuity mistake: When Worf's spacesuit is cut, a close-up shows it venting from a cut just above the knee. But a wide-shot shows the cut is just below the knee.

Below (2002)

Deliberate mistake: The dive suits that the crew wears to go out and make repairs are ficticious, patterned after a similar design used by the British during World War 2. Correct US suits were far bulkier and extremely heavy at over 250 pounds each. (00:44:00)

Continuity mistake: When Claire enters the Captain's quarters, she glances in to see the white desk is very well lit, and his Patrol Log is placed on top. To the left of the log is a brown cup and there is nothing between the log and cup. Seconds later, when she is looking down on the desk, the lighting is extremely dim, and a pen has appeared between the log and cup. The log is also in a different position (further away from anyone that sits at the desk) and Claire has to pull it closer to get it to the spot that it was at when first seen. (00:30:00)

Deliberate mistake: While the sub hides on the ocean bottom, a German ship attacks by dragging chains that have large, heavy barbs on the ends that tear apart whatever they hit. However, this was not used by the Germans in WW2; it was a Japanese tactic. (00:39:40)

Continuity mistake: When Claire is in the Captain's quarters, the locker falls open. As the camera pans up and left across the inside of the door, it slowly passes a photo of Cmdr. Winters in front of a banner that partially reads 'Welcomes Sinatra', and to our left is Frank Sinatra partly shown in the photo. Moments later, Olivia is looking at that same specific photo, and in close-up you can no longer tell who's at the left side (obscured by a hanging jacket) and the banner now reads 'Welcomes Goodman'. (Apparently there was a 'rights' issue that arose during filming that forced a switch to Goodman's name and music, and the earlier Sinatra shot was used in error.) (00:32:25)

Joy Ride (2001)

Continuity mistake: After Lewis picks up Fuller, they are driving along a highway. The shots of Lewis show that the top of his door is damaged so that a large black gap arches from the front of the door to the back. The outer skin is obviously deformed (compare the top of Fuller's door for what it looks like undamaged). After Lewis pulls over, shots of him show his door is now fine. (00:07:55)

Birthright (2) - S6-E17

Continuity mistake: The stardate given in the previous episode is 46578.4 and the stardate of the episode after this is 46682.4. In this episode, Picard records the stardate in his log as 46759.2. There was either a typo in the script or the actor misspoke the scripted 46579.2. This isn't excusable as a character error, because the episode is accepted in Trek lore as occurring on the date Picard states.

Starsky & Hutch (2004)

Factual error: The events of this film take place in June, 1974. But at one point, the boys shoot out the rear window of a 1978-80 AMC Pacer which won't be built until the fall of 1977. While Huggy's '76 Lincoln is also not possible, it's an obvious joke suggesting he has good connections. The Pacer, however, is a clear mistake, as nobody has connections good enough to have a car over three years before it is built. (00:53:25)

Continuity mistake: The Enterprise is (slowly) attempting to put distance between herself and Reliant (which is about to explode). Whenever Enterprise is shown coming toward camera (or watching Reliant on its viewscreen), Reliant is alternately seen from its starboard side pointing at our 2 o'clock position, from port/aft listing hard to starboard, from it's aft/top area, pointing toward 1 o'clock, and from starboard/bow pointing to 5 o'clock... yet Reliant isn't wobbling or moving, and Enterprise maintains a straight (shortest) course away from her... all suggesting Enterprise is traveling in four directions at the same time. (Director's cut DVD). (01:36:50)

Continuity mistake: When Kirk is talking with 'Bob' on the main viewscreen, various parts and gear are scattered in front of the screen on the floor, including a tall black cylinder that is tall enough to block our view of a portion of the screen's lower white frame area. After a quick close-up on Kirk, the shot is tighter on the viewscreen, but we see the black cylinder is gone, yet from this lower angle, it should be more prominently in view, blocking more of the white frame. Further, in the wide shot, the blue tracer lights beneath the screen are off, but in the tight shot, they are on. (00:29:50)

Continuity mistake: When Kirk gets a shock from inside a ceiling panel in the brig, he falls off Spock's shoulders. The overhead camera, looking down shows Spock holding Kirk's feet. But when the shot changes to a frontal of Spock, he is holding Kirk's hands (indicating that Kirk actually just jumped up from the floor, with Spock lifting for a bit of extra height, before the shot begins) and we see Kirk landing and rolling. (00:57:00)

Continuity mistake: When McCoy bumps into a hanging body's arm and yells 'Jim.', the next shot shows Kirk lowering a body from an upper level by rope. To his right, another body dangles (feet point up, frontside visible). In the following close-ups of Kirk, this body is much closer to him and is turned over (feet point down, backside visible). No time compression occurs between the two shots. (Director's cut DVD). (01:03:55)

Continuity mistake: When Spock gives the neck-pinch to McCoy, who slumps to the floor slowly, the floor inside the chamber is a dark-tan/light-brown color, but the close-up of the mind-meld on McCoy's face shows the same floor lit prominently with blue lights. (Director's Cut DVD). (01:35:40)
