Lethal Weapon (1987)

Revealing mistake: When the bus hits the car, the car launches into the air, propelled by a special-effects 'roll cannon'. The cylindrical slug that is fired out of the bottom of the car is seen rolling ahead of the bus toward the bottom of the screen. (01:42:15)

Lethal Weapon (1987)

Trivia: The helicopter from which Hunsacker is shot by Mister Joshua is FAA registry number N230CA, meaning it's the same Bell JetRanger wearing a POLICE paint scheme that is shot down towards the end of the movie 'Blue Thunder'. (01:14:10)

Lethal Weapon (1987)

Continuity mistake: When Amanda is first shown lying in bed, she is wearing her left shoe, but not the right. When she steps up onto the railing, the shoe is on her right foot, but this looks to be a mirror image, possibly on the sliding glass door - fair enough. But when she's lying on the roof of the car, she's wearing both shoes. (00:02:00)

Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)

Plot hole: In the opening chase scenes, the bad guys are using hand-held radios to communicate, and several shots show that all the police are hearing them. These professional criminals would not be broadcasting their criminal activities on a police frequency, nor are the police and their dispatchers monitoring scanners to pick up the criminals' frequency. So neither side should be hearing the other. (00:01:50)

Lethal Weapon (1987)

Continuity mistake: A quick shot from the interior of the General's car looking at the approaching bus, a metal guard is seen on the front of the bus, painted white to match. It is not there in the shots before or after. (01:42:15)

The Machinist (2004)

Factual error: When Trevor is struck by the VW Beetle, not only is he not thrown forward along the Beetle's path, he actually lands well behind the point of impact - more than half the length of the parked van. He doesn't bounce off another object that changes his direction. He's just thrown up, then falls rearward above the car. (01:08:35)

Revealing mistake: The opening chase has a police car chasing a white Countach. We hear the officers talking on the radio, reporting the chase events, etc., yet the driver is alone and is always seen with his hands on the wheel, never holding the radio's microphone. (00:02:00)

The Big Hit (1998)

Continuity mistake: When Melvin comes out of the video store, Keiko is in front of a maroon sedan, and she steps forward toward Melvin, into the street. When the store explodes, she's briefly seen ducking in the street, near the rear of the car (she disappears from view quickly). The angle changes and suddenly she's back at the front/left corner of the car. (01:24:35)

The Big Hit (1998)

Continuity mistake: When the yellow Firebird collides with the Jaguar, the Firebrid's front left corner is significantly mangled. But as it comes to a sliding stop, the damage vanishes. (01:11:40)

Continuity mistake: Just before Martin and Davis Jr. do a 180-degree turn in front of two patrol cars, the police are driving Dodge St. Regis sedans (seen from inside through the back window). But the following exterior shot shows the patrol cars are suddenly Chevrolet Caprice sedans. Also, the scenery to our right goes from open desert with low plants along the road, to very tall plants and lots of telephone poles. (00:58:10)

Cannonball Run II (1984)

Revealing mistake: The opening chase has a police car chasing a white Countach. We hear two officers talking to each other. There are times they are talking to others on the radio, as well. But every shot that allows us to see inside the patrol car, only a driver is in it. (00:04:15)

The Savages (2007)

Continuity mistake: When taking off his heavier clothing at the rear of the car, Jon's hair hangs straight down over his forehead, even covering one eye. He then walks to the driver's door and instantly his hair is very neatly combed to one side. (00:16:05)

Atonement (2007)

Question: After a fellow soldier throws his boots, Robbie walks ahead to retrieve them and discovers a large group of murdered children in, I presume, school or church uniforms. Is this moment based on a real historical event of WWII?

johnrosa

Chosen answer: Not as such. The only systematic massacre of civilians in the Dunkirk campaign was in the Flemish village of Vingkt, where the German 377th Infantry Regiment had fought a fierce battle against the Belgian Chasseurs Ardennais. On 27/28 May 1940, the Germans took revenge on the civilian population and shot some 40 men and boys in the village, including eight elderly men who had sheltered in a convent's cellars. They argued that anyone found in a building the Chasseurs had used was liable for execution. The film exaggerates for dramatic effect - dead schoolboys are more poignant than dead old men - but there is a core of truth in the story.

Atonement (2007)

Continuity mistake: When Cecilia and Robbie are having sex against the bookcase, a close-up reveals she slips her left foot out of her shoe. But when Briony walks into the room and the two lovers are shown motionless, we see Cecilia still has both shoes on. (00:36:30)

Epiphanies - S2-E13

Factual error: Early in the episode a damaged Viper makes its way back to Galactica with its port-side gun trailing smoke as if in an atmosphere. But in a vacuum, the smoke wouldn't trail. It would build upon itself much the way shaving foam does when slowly leaking from a damaged can, unless the ship changed course and/or speed and then the smoke would appear to do the opposite - ship turns right, smoke moves off to the left because it remains on its original course regardless of what the ship does. The gun is not propelling the smoke rearward. The ammo inside is simply burning. (00:05:15)

10 Items or Less (2006)

Factual error: When Scarlet decides to ram the other car, she asks 'Him' if there is a green Pontiac behind her. Him answers yes. In fact, the car is a Chevrolet Camaro, not a Pontiac. Him may be a detached actor that knows nothing about cars, but Scarlet knows the car and its owner well, and the owner's reaction proves the car hit was the intended target. (00:29:15)

10 Items or Less (2006)

Visible crew/equipment: As 'Him' is leading a sort of conga line of car wash workers as they dry off cars, the camera man is reflected in the fender as they dry the nearest car, a blue Chevrolet El Camino. (00:43:30)

Hidalgo (2004)

Continuity mistake: After leaving the blonde woman's tent, Frank approaches Jazira who is standing with Hidalgo. As Frank approaches, Jazira's veil is high enough to obscure the lower portion of her eyes. When the shot changes to a close-up of her face, the veil is so low that the tip of her nose is exposed. Over the next few shots, this condition goes back and forth repeatedly. (01:28:40)

Factual error: During a montage depicting Afghan fighters shooting down Soviet aircraft, the stock military shots show an A6 Intruder, an F4 Phantom, and soon after, an F-16 Falcon getting shot down. All are jets Russia never used, as they are American aircraft. (01:22:15)

Continuity mistake: Gust is touching his glass with his right hand, then the shot reverses angle and the same hand is instantly holding a cigarette to his mouth. (01:12:20)
