The Siege (1998)

The Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: After convincing his partner to rejoin the investigation, Hub has a multi-page form of letter-size paper that has been folded so that the back/yellow page is on the outside. It's folded once, top-to-bottom, then again sideways (making it 1/4 letter size). He opens the second fold to write "Hit Army 11:00" on half of the inside paper. He shows it to his partner, then to Elise. Elise takes it, closes the second fold (which conceals Hub's note) and writes "Bathhouse 12:00" on the outside of the folded paper, then hands it back to Hub, who then opens it to read her note. But that's *his* note on the inside. Her note is in plain site on the outside. (01:35:55)

The Siege (1998)

The Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Samir is shot and falls into the pool, he falls in facing up. But the underwater angle shows him land in the water face down. (01:42:45)

The Siege (1998)

Continuity mistake: When Hub tells Elise he's going to have her escorted out of the area where the first bus is being examined, a dark portion of the pattern on her scarf is below her chin. When she turns to walk away (toward camera) the light portion is now centered below her chin. (00:09:30)

The Siege (1998)

The Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: After discussing the torture of a prisoner, Hubbard begins to give a rousing speech to the General. Hub is shown walking forward into an open portion of the room, the walls a fair distance away. Then a quick cut shows him with his back nearly against the wall where he started, then the next shot of him has him back in the open area again, all with no time to make such location changes. The Siege (1998)

The Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: The van that drives through the streets of NYC has broken front turn signals and a chunk missing from the grille at our top/right when looking at the van's front. But when it crashes through the windows, none of this damage exists. Also, the dirty license plate becomes spotlessly clean. (01:05:25)

The Siege (1998)

The Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Below the stadium, Devereaux, Hub and Elise discuss various forms of torture to use on their captive. When an officer states "It's extremely messy", he does so with a fairly relaxed expression. The camera angle changes instantly and he suddenly looks like a stiff, angry statue. (01:26:05)

The Siege (1998)

Continuity mistake: After Elise's arrest, she is driven across a bridge. The vehicles in the background keep changing, and the quantity of them varies wildly from few to many as the camera keeps changing angles to focus on each actor, the result of multiple takes among real, changing traffic. (Humorously, the 'Martial Law' edition DVD of this film has commentary during this scene that claims it was filmed on a set, using background footage to guarantee continuity. So much for that plan!) The Siege (1998)

The Siege mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Hub is talking on his cellphone to the terrorists on the bus, he holds the phone with two fingers wrapping laterally around the back of the phone (near the mouth-end), his finger tips pointing toward his upper cheek. When the angle instantly changes to show him more from behind, his two fingers are pointing up along the backside of the phone (fingertips pointing at his own ear). (00:22:15)

Continuity mistake: When Justice arrives to find the roadblock has broken up to chase Bandit, his car has a black quarter panel on the passenger side. But before and after this moment, the quarter is the same bronze as the rest of the car.

Smokey and the Bandit mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Just after Bandit picks up Frog, and the thieves arrive to strip her car, a shot of the Trans Am and the truck coming toward the camera shows Frog is not in her wedding headpiece, even though the shots before and after have her wearing it. (00:09:25)

Deja Vu (2006)

Deja Vu mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When the truck leaps off the ferry, the underside is seen, exposing the still-flaming 'roll cannon' opening in the rear floorboard. This cannon is what caused the rear of the truck to rise, sending the truck flipping through the air. (01:52:30)

Deja Vu (2006)

Deja Vu mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the red Ford Bronco is driven off the ferry (ignoring all the impossible factors required for it to successfully do so), it flips through the air and contacts the water going backwards, its right/rear tail light entering the water first. The closer next shot shows the truck sink somewhat as it continues to flip backward, onto its roof. The very next shot shows the interior of the truck as it enters the water right-side up and going forward as water rushes in. Denzel lurches forward and down, driving his face into the water that is about waist level. The next exterior shot is underwater as the truck now lands in the water, nose first and right-side up. It then begins the expected slow dive, nose-first. (01:52:30)

Bubble Boy (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Chloe visits Jimmy's room for the first time, he glances at her chest and a close-up shows she has a very ample endowment- very high, very round in the open area of her top. In the wider shots that follow, the open area of her top displays a very flat area, with her braless breasts settled much wider apart and lower. (00:08:05 - 00:09:10)

Bubble Boy (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Jimmy first leaves his house and starts running down the street, the curb is straight as he passes in front of two houses and falls forward. The shot changes to show him getting back up, and the house at left is the house at right in the prior shot - meaning he's now run past at least three homes along this straight curb. The shot then changes to show Jimmy running away from camera, beginning in a cul de sac, which has a continuously curved curb, and he can't have past more than one house yet. (00:19:35)

Bubble Boy (2001)

Continuity mistake: After Jimmy goes aboard the 'Bright and Shiny' bus, his mother discovers he is missing and screams. Several quick exterior shots follow as her scream continues. One of these shots is an overhead of the street Jimmy ran along earlier, and is actually the end of the very same footage. If you look hard, you can see Jimmy in his bubble at the end of the street, turning and looking left and right. Since he's on the bus already, he can't be here, too. (00:24:10)

Bubble Boy (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Chloe visits Jimmy's room for the first time, he reaches for his guitar and Chloe is seen from behind, at right, pulling her hair over and onto her right shoulder, leaving her left shoulder without any hair resting on or near it. When the shot reverses to show her from the front, her hair hangs freely down onto both shoulders again. (00:08:55)

Star Wars: Clone Wars mistake picture

Chapter 14 - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: When Palpatine and the others exit the elevator, a rear shot of their group shows that one trooper holds his rifle, but the other is missing his rocket launcher. But when seen from the front again, this trooper has the very obvious launcher hanging from his shoulder, behind him. (00:40:00)

Star Wars: Clone Wars mistake picture

Chapter 14 - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: When Palpatine and his rescuers emerge from the elevator, the characters' positions in relation to each other changes radically despite nobody moving. First shot, the line up, left to right, is Hammer Head, Trooper, female Jedi, Palpatine, Trooper and four-eyes (the 3 Jedi are in the front row, the rest behind). In the next shot, the order is now (right to left, from behind) Hammer Head, female Jedi, Trooper, Palpatine, Trooper and four-eyes (Palpatine now in the front row). Next, a tighter shot has Hammer Head moved to the back row, behind a trooper. Meanwhile, the two troopers keep switching sides, as the rifle is seen at left or at right, while the rocket launcher is not seen at all until the troopers are suddenly together at the left of the screen when Hammer Head yells. The Hitcher (1986)

The Hitcher mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Jim hits the brakes in his stolen patrol car, the two pursuing police cars turn and flip over and over. As they roll, the 'roll cannon' is visible on the underside of one of the cars (a round steel tube in a hole in the floor) and at left, the two cannon slugs from both cars bounce down the road. This device fires the slug downward, and the force behind it lifts the car when the slug hits the road, launching the car over.
