Corrected entry: When Philippe is in training to be king, at one point he looks at an ornate, high-heeled nobleman's shoe, and laughs at it. Why would he laugh? That was just the style of the day, and it's doubtful he would think twice about it. Men had been wearing high-heeled shoes for forty years before the film takes place - obviously long before Philippe was born. There's no reason why this style should seem strange to him, even after being locked up for six years. In addition, one of the Musketeers is laughing at the shoe also, which makes even less sense. A bit of twentieth century ideology imposed on a seventeenth century story, maybe?

Krista

Correction: Surely Philippe and Orthos must have seen high-heeled shoes before and are not snickering at the type of shoe but probably the particular design. Philippe had not seen a designer's shoe for six years and styles change. He may have found it amusing to see to what level they "evolved." As for the musketeer, he probably laughed, thinking the shoe was a bit too fancy and it was something he wouldn't want to be caught dead in.

National Velvet (1944)

Corrected entry: Velvet looks out the window, and says she's dreaming, because she sees the whole village bringing her the horse. Her mother then looks out the window and comfirms that they are indeed bringing the horse to her, but how does her mother know this? Every kid in their family had a lottery ticket for the horse raffle.

Krista

Correction: If you listen closely, I think you can hear the people bringing the Pie say "Velvet." Also, the other Brown children bought a ticket to increase Velvet's chances of winning. The Pie was always going to be for her regardless of who had the winning ticket.

Corrected entry: Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli first approach Edoras, and Gandalf talks about the king's mind being overthrown. It then cuts to inside the Golden Hall, where Eowyn is telling her uncle about his dead son. She is wearing a gray dress, and her hair is pulled back on the sides. Then it cuts back to Gandalf and Co. riding up to the town, then back to Eowyn tending to her dead cousin. This should only be a few minutes later, as the group is still riding up to Edoras, but now Eowyn has on a white dress, and all her hair is down. She then goes outside in her white dress, and sees the group approaching.

Krista

Correction: The scene with Eowyn telling Theoden of Theodred's death is a flashback scene. It does not take place concurrently with Gandalf's telling the Three Riders that Theoden's mind is overthrown. The footage of Eowyn talking to the dazed and muttering King is simply to add emphasis to Gandalf's words.

Phil C.

Corrected entry: When Huck and the bratty blonde girl are talking about England, the girl says that George IV is the king. George IV reigned from 1820-1830, but the story of Huckleberry Finn is thought to take place in the 1830's or 1840's, not as early as the 1820s. (01:08:30)

Krista

Correction: It's only a mistake if the movie is not set in the 1820s. The books setting could well be slightly different.

Corrected entry: When Gandalf is trapped on top of the tower in Isengard, it's raining. But at the same time, at the base of the tower where Saruman and the orcs are tearing down the trees, it's not raining.

Krista

Correction: The rain moves slowly across the fields. Several shots of the Uruk-hai cutting down trees DO show that it is raining. It's only the closeup shots of Saruman and the Uruks he is speaking to that don't show rain, which just means that it hasn't gotten to them yet.

Corrected entry: When the family comes down Christmas morning, it's obvious they've all just woken up (we see the kids getting up, the father is rubbing his eyes). But there's a blazing fire in the fireplace that looks like it was just built.

Krista

Correction: The mother looks wide awake when she comes down with the father. Besides, just because the father was rubbing his eyes, that does not mean he just woke up. My father would wake up before everyone to turn on the Christmas lights and would still be tired.

Bruce Minnick

Corrected entry: When the guard shoots Tommy in the yard, he fires twice. But when Tommy is shown lying on the ground, he has four bullet holes in his back.

Krista

Correction: There could be a difference between different editions. I've seen the movie on DVD and heard four distinct shots.

Minority Report (2002)

Corrected entry: When Anderton is walking with Agatha through the shopping mall, there's bright sunlight coming through the windows. It's there right up until the minute they leave, but when they're outside, it's suddenly dark and cloudy. A short time later we see the rain stop, and people putting their umbrellas down, but it's still cloudy. Just because the rain stops, that does not mean the sun is out. However, as soon as they step inside, there's that bright light coming through the windows again.

Krista

Correction: The only time we see windows insode the mall is at the entrance, the bright lights are interior lights. As for the rain stopping we don't see windows with a clear sky until he gets into the room on the 10th floor and we see in the lobby that he took the stairs not the elevator, possibly to prevent a lock down since the precrime dectives were after him.

Corrected entry: Elizabeth and Jack are seen coming ashore on the island soaking wet, but in the very next shot Elizabeth's hair is completely dry. Granted, this could be a while later, but Elizabeth's frantic questioning about how Jack got off the island last time seems to be something she'd ask right away.

Krista

Correction: Time has lapsed in between the shots, this is clear because when they first get to the island Jack is wearing his boots and vest, but when they are wandering around in the next shot his boots, vest and his accessories are all gone.

Corrected entry: In the last scene, no one seems to think it's strange that Will is wearing a hat that's 100 years out of date.

Krista

Correction: Given all the jokes about hats throughout the film, it's more than likely that this could just be one of them.

STP

Corrected entry: The Ducks have their press conference at the Coliseum, they hang out in Beverly Hills, Bombay is staying in Malibu, and the team's practices and games are in Anaheim. These locations are MILES apart; it would take Bombay over an hour to get from his rented house to practice. Not very good planning on Hendrix Hockey's part.

Krista

Correction: When Bombay is walking into his new place, he specifically asks the Hendrix guy if he shouldn't be closer to the ducks.

wolfchild

Corrected entry: How can it be that pictures of Melanie and her famous fiance are on the covers of all the papers, and no one in her hometown - including her own parents - has a clue who she's dating? They can't be that out of it. (00:12:40)

Krista

Correction: Melanie's engagement only appeared in, most likely, New York magazines/papers and fashion magazines. The characters in the film portrayed people who probably really didn't care about what's going on in New York or what's happening in fashion.

The Others (2001)

Corrected entry: The children are obviously light sleepers, given that when their father comes home, he only has to stand at the foot of the bed and say one sentence to them before they both wake up. So how did they remain asleep while all the curtains were being pulled off their windows, just a few feet away?

Krista

Correction: The idea of the movie is that the two worlds, dead and living, sometimes connect. I'm assuming that when the curtains were removed the two worlds weren't connected.

Corrected entry: In the high angle wide shot of the Nazgul in a V-formation chasing Arwen and Frodo, there are only eight of them. Granted, the last one could have joined the chase afterwards, but he either would have had to have a horse that was much faster than the others, since there is no sign of him behind them, or he'd have to be waiting for them all in the trees ahead. But if so, he never jumped in front of them, which would make a lot more sense, but just joined the chase behind them.

Krista

Correction: This is in corrections already - in fact has the distinction of being the first correction I ever submitted. The book states that there were only 8 Ringwraiths chasing Frodo, until they near the Ford, and the 9th one comes out of the woods near the road.

STP

Corrected entry: If Marty's family is so much more successful after his trip back in time, why do they still live in the same small house?

Krista

Correction: It could be a nice neighborhood. A larger house might have had a high property tax. Just because they moved up in the wealth sector doesn't mean they would have moved far above the upper-middle class level.

Corrected entry: Did the people in the castle age after they were turned into household objects? The Beast has until his 21st birthday to fall in love, and Lumiere specifically states that they've been like that for ten years. So was the Beast 11 years old when he was transformed? If so, where was Chip, who appears to be about five or six? Was he even born? Can teapots produce little teacups?

Krista

Correction: The Beast is a standard living creature, so it's not inconceivable that he'd age. The others are now non-living objects, so Chip was likely born a human but is not aging in his cup form.

Corrected entry: Mrs. Potts looks like somebody's grandmother- far too old to have a little kid like Chip.

Krista

Correction: The oldest woman to ever give birth was 65 years old. Anything's possible.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Corrected entry: When Peter and Dana are looking in her refrigerator after the Gozer incident, notice the Coke can on the top shelf. In the wide shot, it has "Coca-Cola" written in small cursive letters, but in the close-ups, it just says "Coke" and the letters are large, and in print.

Krista

Correction: If you look closely, there are actually two cans of Coke in the refrigerator. The on nearest Peter is the one with the cursive writing, and the one on Dana's side is the one with the big bold lettering. Although if you watch the can with the cursive writing, the can turns to the left just a bit from when the refrigerator was first opened.

Corrected entry: When Jimmy Dugan is taking a very long pee in the locker room, it sounds like he's going into a water-filled toilet. But he's going into a urinal, so it shouldn't sound the same.

Krista

Correction: Some urinals hold water just like toilets.

One Hour Photo (2002)

Corrected entry: There are several shots of the SavMart that show a lot of wide, open floor space at the front of the store. Stores like that never waste floor space that can be used for special displays of soda cases, holiday merchandise, bargain bins, etc. Usually it's hard to even maneuver around them.

Krista

Correction: SavMart was made to be perfect and open and well lit. It is supposed to be Sy's 'heaven'.
