Sex and the City (1998)

Ghost town - S4-E5

Revealing mistake: When Samantha and Maria are in the bath tub arguing; Samantha decides to leave, and suddenly gets up out of the water. She is not wearing anything from the waist up; but if you look closely just at the end of the scene, you can briefly see that Kim Cattrall is actually wearing some sort of minimal dark undergarment below her waist to cover herself. You can see a black strip of material across her hips. (00:11:20)

Suggested correction: I've watched the scene and even paused it and see no black strip. In any case, if slo-mo were needed, the mistake would not be valid.

Sex and the City (1998)

Sex and another city - S3-E14

Corrected entry: At the beginning of this episode, Carrie mentions in voiceover that they had been in LA for over a week. It's obvious in this episode, that they are staying in LA for a second week. But Carrie never showed up at the second meeting for the Production Company, which would have ended her work with them. Since the Production Company was paying for 2 hotel rooms; it isn't likely they would have let the girls stay in those rooms for 2 weeks for free, when Carrie quit the project after only a few days. And it's doubtful the girls would have elected to pay full price for an expensive hotel in LA for almost 2 weeks on their own, when they had expected to stay there for free.

Correction: Why wouldn't a group of girls that eat and dine in the finest restaurants every day and spend thousands of dollars in expensive shoes and bags spend some money on a nice hotel?

Sacha

Correction: Agree with the other corrections, but would add that Carrie wasn't working for the production company. She was invited to California to discuss optioning her column for a movie. Regardless of whether or not she attended a second meeting, she was their invited guest and the arrangement included a two-week hotel stay, which would be pre-paid. The remainder of a two-week hotel bill is a small business expense that the production company could write off as a tax deduction. Suddenly ejecting her from the hotel would be unprofessional, cheap, and end possible future collaborations and is something Carrie would likely write about in her column.

Sex and the City (1998)

Boy, girl, boy, girl - S3-E4

Continuity mistake: During this scene when Samantha is confronting her new assistant, the office set-up is completely different than before, when Nina G. was working for her. The assistant office space is much larger, glass desk, different angle, next to small conference room instead of Samantha's office, etc.; obviously not the same office set as previously used. Yet Samantha has not changed offices at all during this time period, as it wasn't too long ago when she fired Nina G. Something as major as changing offices would definitely have been mentioned in the plot (as changing apartments always is); and there hasn't been enough time since she fired Nina G. (00:13:45)

Suggested correction: You're assuming that moving to a new office must be a plot for a new episode, which makes no sense (plus, it's a show that revolves around sex, women, restaurants and bars). Furthermore, the episode you mention is S2E17. Many months have passed and it's perfectly plausible for Sam to move some place else.

Suggested correction: That's one of the gags of the film, how action films have obvious stunt doubles, not to mention ridiculous stunts like how he got the car on 2 wheels in the first place.

That is not part of the fake-movie plot.

Continuity mistake: When the temple collapses, Satipo is crouching looking at the chaos. Indy starts to run and there's a wide angle of the passage ahead but Satipo is nowhere around. He couldn't have managed to run that distance in half a second.

Suggested correction: He had a couple of seconds to run away from that spot.

It's a straight passage so he should be seen somewhere along it and he isn't.

Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

Corrected entry: When Hobbs and Shaw are boarding the plane with fake identities, Hobbs has a fake mustache when he gets to security, but it's gone when he gets on the plane.

Correction: He had plenty of time to take it off. Hattie also took her disguise off.

As does Deckard who has changed.

Ssiscool

Factual error: There were no gourds in Ancient Judea, of that type. The 'gourd' mentioned in the Bible refers to a colocynth plant, which yields only a small fruit, 5 - 10cm diameter. The gourd in the film is from a pumpkin, and not from a watermelon, as others have suggested. Pumpkins originated in the Americas, and there weren't any in the rest of the world before Columbus.

Suggested correction: This is a movie where Brian falls inside a flying UFO with alien pilots. I seriously doubt that the filmmakers had any intention whatsoever to be historically accurate.

Sacha

Regardless of the random UFO scene, this is still a factual mistake. It doesn't matter if a film maker sets out to intentionally make a historically accurate film or not. There's nothing to suggest this film was set in an alternate past or that it was a sight gag as if it was a Mel Brook's film.

Continuity mistake: In the scene when Conan's mother is killed, we see her using both hands to hold her sword toward Thulsa Doom and his men. The camera cuts to young Conan and he is holding her right hand. When the camera cuts back to her, she is holding the sword with both hands again.

Dirty Dancing (1987)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Johnny and Baby are in the dance studio, Johnny puts the records down twice, once when he agrees to do the dance and the second time when Neil is saying to Baby, "He's hard to talk to but the ladies seem to like him" (you see him do this in the mirror) and then we see him slam the lid to the record player down, which scares Baby.

Correction: Johnny has several records in his hand. When he puts the first one away he still has some in his hand.

Correction: The original mistake is right. He stops the record from playing. Removes it, holds it with one hand, turns sideways and bends down to store it. Then his hands are empty. Angle changes and the record is back in his hand and he's in the first position repeating all of the movements.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: After Willie spits in Indy's face it cuts to Short Round running through the mine, and just as Shorty turns his head toward the camera behind him, we can catch a glimpse of something blue which does not belong in this dark dreary environment, at the right side of the screen. There is a tall spotlight and two crew members, one is wearing a solid blue shirt and a cap, and the other a blue/white striped shirt with white pants. (01:21:25)

Suggested correction: This takes place in milliseconds and there's no way to see it unless you pause the image or play it in slo-mo. It should be under trivia.

Sacha

Right now I have it playing on Netflix, and there is no slow motion. The striped blue shirt is noticeable as it plays without any slo-mo. If something catches my eye onscreen, it is fair game to go back and rewatch what was noticed in the first place. And in order for me to confirm what I find, I do pause, and may take screenshots. By the way, I've seen this movie countless times over the years, and it was just a matter of catching that glimpse of the color blue because it popped out against the dreary surroundings. I'll leave it up to Jon whether to move it to trivia or not.

Super Grover

Fair enough :).

Superman II (1980)

Corrected entry: In Richard Donner's cut, after Superman saves the kid in Canada he speaks with Lois and his hair keeps changing from dry then wet then dry back again between shots.

oswal13

Correction: Richard Donner's is not a finished movie, but an experiment of how S2 would have looked like had he finished it. It is made with material from different sources: Richard Lester's film, auditions, previously unreleased scenes, newly filmed stuff... Thus, it is impossible for it to have any continuity whatsoever and was never intended to have any.

Suggested correction: Mary doesn't get "dark paint" on her cheek when she hugs Elliot. When Mary's standing at the fridge door speaking to the police officer, she's still wearing her Halloween dress and the mark on her right cheek is the black heart (part of her Halloween makeup). This mark is still visible on her cheek in the wide shot (viewed on Blu-ray) when she tells Elliot she's sorry that she yelled at him, and sits Elliott down on the kitchen seat.

Super Grover

Right after she hugs Elliot there's a wide angle where she says "Sorry" and her cheek is spotless. Screenshot uploaded.

Corrected entry: While Jordan Belfort arrives at the Long Island job after seeing the ad in the paper, a woman enters the frame from the left while Jordan parks his car. This woman dissolves into thin air when a second person enters the frame. (00:16:50)

Correction: Watch Jordan exiting the car and then wandering around the area later on. The whole scene is edited as an ellipsis with dissolves in between to speed it up.

Bohemian Rhapsody mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the "Another one bites the dust" scene, Freddie is given a sheet, which he holds with his left hand, beer in his right. A shot later the beer is gone and the sheet has swapped hands. Then a shot later the bottle reappears in his right hand. He never gives it or has it given back. (01:12:55)

Sacha

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Freddie drops the lyrics sheet after shoving it in Roger's face - he holding his beer in his right hand. Freddie gives the beer to Roger and when the camera moves to a close up of John's hand's playing the bass, Freddie crosses in front of John and picks up a new sheet from the table where Brian is sitting. The bottle never reappears in Freddie's hand.

You're basing your correction on a moment that occurs minutes later in the scene. And the table is 3 meters away. He couldn't have left the bottle anywhere.

The Iron Throne - S8-E6

Corrected entry: Arya was last seen riding a horse out of King's Landing at the end of the previous episode. But at the beginning of this one she is suddenly back in the city again, wandering around on foot.

Correction: This episode doesn't continue in the very same spot that the previous ended, so there was enough time for Arya to step off the horse and walk around the ruins.

Corrected entry: When Dieter Stark falls down the slope, as the stuntman comes to a stop at the bottom, two crew members step into shot to stop the falling man. This is followed by a poor cut back to Peter Stormare's face down in the dirt.

Correction: It's not two crew members but a hand that appears for a mere frame. There is no way whatsoever to notice the hand unless you watch the scene in slow-mo several times.

Big (1988)

Corrected entry: When Tom Hanks starts to play on the floor piano he throws the bag he is carrying aside and when he goes to leave he doesn't pick it up. He leaves it on the floor.

Correction: There is no scene afterwards implying he left the bag behind forever. When the scene ended he could have walked back and picked it up.
