Edtv (1999)

Trivia: Pointless mention, but took me by surprise. About half way through the film, a guy called Shane tries to get Ed to listen to his band's tape. He's played by Christian Kane, who went on to play Lindsay in "Angel". Yeah, minor point, but I'm an Angel fan, so it was interesting to me.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Trivia: When the soldiers first enter the mansion, and the little kid who doesn't sleep goes to investigate - listen to the commentary on the nature documentary he's watching - it fits with events quite nicely for a while, along the lines of "With the mother away, the children are left defenseless..." It goes a bit awry once it starts with "the centipede is deadly", but you get the idea. (00:32:25)

X-Men 2 (2003)

Trivia: May be obvious to some people, but I missed it the first time around. Towards the end, when Jean Gray's outside, Nightcrawler says that she's stopping him going out there. When he tries to teleport, you can briefly see the smoke appear round him then disappear as he gets blocked.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Trivia: Watch the 20th Century Fox logo closely at the start - the X stays illuminated for a short time after the main logo fades out.

Two Weeks Notice (2002)

Trivia: In the trailers (on the radio in the UK, anyway), there's a bit with Hugh Grant saying something like "This is no job for a grown up - drinking without being responsible...actually, it doesn't sound that bad". This was never in the finished film.

Equilibrium (2002)

Trivia: The library proprietor is listed in the credits as "Brian Connelly", but his name's actually "Brian Conley" - he's a comic/TV presenter in the UK. No reason why he can't be playing a straight role, but it was a bit of a surprise when he suddenly popped up! (01:06:15 - 01:42:20)

Hannibal (2001)

Trivia: Not a mistake, but something I just noticed on about the 5th viewing. In the very creepy 'I've given very serious thought...to eating your wife' bit, during the ominous pause in the middle a fly crawls down the back/side of Anthony Hopkins' head, then flies around a bit. Can't be helped, and barely noticable, but it does wreck the mood a bit. (01:14:59)

Robocop 2 (1990)

Trivia: When Robocop's being reprogrammed, various information flashes up on screen, only really readable if watched frame by frame on a DVD. Various new directives come up, including 'Avoid Orion meetings' (Orion being the company that made the film). The names Kuran and Lockwood are shown among the garbage, being Peter Kuran and George Lockwood, two of the special effects team. There's also a string of numbers, which when treated as Hex and translated to ASCII comes out as 'Pete Kuran is a great guy'. (00:46:05)

Trivia: A nice nod to history. Just after Shinzon orders attack plan 'Shinzon Theta', Riker orders defence pattern 'Kirk Epsilon'.

Dogma (1999)

Trivia: Not really to do with the film, more the back of the UK DVD (maybe other countries/formats as well). It's traditional in the blurb on the back to mention the cast, with an example or two of other films they've been in. For example: Ben Affleck (Armageddon, Shakespeare in Love, Good Will Hunting), and Alan Rickman (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and Die Hard). All good examples. However, when they get to Chris Rock, they mention Lethal Weapon 4 (of course), Dr. Dolittle (hmm), and...Beverly Hills Cop 2! He had a miniscule part in that, 12 years ago! Most people don't even know he was in it! He had a bigger part in Beverly Hills Ninja! I don't even see why they had to mention 3 films, as Linda Fiorentino and Alan Rickman only get 2. Little thing, but it bugs me.

Trivia: Just a quick note - obvious to many, but a lot of people I know missed him. Note the techie who gets hit by a car after being chased for a while - he's Jason Lee, of Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma fame. I know, I know, it's obvious, but a few people I know didn't notice until I mentioned it.

Scream 3 (2000)

Trivia: Not strictly a mistake, but have you ever seen anything like the product placement when Rene Russo storms into an office and downs a can of Pepsi One (with the label cunning facing the camera)? She does all but turn to camera, hold it up, and say "aaah - there's nothing like an ice-cold can of Pepsi". I actually laughed when I saw it.

Trivia: About the book really, but it sort of relates - in the book of Lost World, Malcolm is a main character (like in the film), despite the fact that he dies at the end of Jurassic Park, the book. It's semi-explained away at the beginning when he's giving a speech and says something like "rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated", but even so - at a guess Jeff Goldblum had already signed up for a sequel...
