Revealing mistake: As the T-Rex rages through the street, some cars crash, and one reversing car dramatically flips. Two problems though - firstly, it's reversing quickly enough to mean it must have travelled past the dinosaur to build up that much speed, so the driver would have just driven forwards away from the T-Rex instead. Plus there's nothing which would realistically be in the road to make the car flip over like that, it's just a street with cars stopped on it.

Revealing mistake: The woman who screams and reverses away from the T-Rex while staring at it is suddenly replaced by a male stunt driver looking over his shoulder in the shot from the side.

Question: The sequence where the family sees their dog's kennel/chain hanging from the T-Rex's mouth...was that also used in a children's book? My wife and her sister remember it as a story in the 80s, with artwork similar to "Not Now Bernard." My wife's never seen this film, resenting the absence of Sam Neill, but recognises she might have seen the clip and it's just her memory playing tricks on her. Curious if anyone knows of an old book/story with a similar visual.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Jeff Goldblum is trapped in the car with the raptor outside, the raptor bumps into the window, cracking it. There's no hole in the centre of the crack in the shot of the raptor, but when we see a shot of Jeff Goldblum a second later, there's suddenly a hole in the window. (01:30:05)

Trivia: About the book really, but it sort of relates - in the book of Lost World, Malcolm is a main character (like in the film), despite the fact that he dies at the end of Jurassic Park, the book. It's semi-explained away at the beginning when he's giving a speech and says something like "rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated", but even so - at a guess Jeff Goldblum had already signed up for a sequel...

The Lost World: Jurassic Park mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When they're in the shack, and the raptors are making the walls shake, the lights wire guard falls off the wall and lands in front of the door. We then see a closeup of the raptors starting to dig under the door, there's no sign of the light guard. We then cut back to a wider shot of the door, and the light wire guard falls off again. Eventually it shows a closeup of the light wire guard AGAIN falling off. (01:30:10)
