Revealing mistake: During the pool scene, one of the boys loses his shorts, it's obvious he is wearing flesh-coloured underwear.
Continuity mistake: At the very beginning, when Danny's mother walks up the stairs, there is a guitar leaning against the stair banister, but a few shots later, the guitar is now leaning on its amplifier on the floor. (00:01:20 - 00:01:50)
Continuity mistake: During Lou's speech after breaking up Noonan's fight, the dart board against the back wall in the caddies' shack switches from a regular darts to whatever game is on the back. The position of the dartboard also moves.
Deliberate mistake: The floating candy bar that clears everyone from the swimming pool is a Baby Ruth, but Baby Ruths don't float, they sink like a rock.
Visible crew/equipment: During the last sequence at the last green there are shots of the doctor and the judge (particularly the one where the judge pulls out "Billy".) If you look in the bottom left hand of the screen you can see a shadow of a camera, and at times, the head of a crew member.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Chevy Chase puts on a blindfold and reaches for his clubs, but he knocks a couple of them over and they land on the golf course. After he hits the ball we see a shot of him and Danny from across the pond, but the knocked over golf clubs have disappeared. (00:06:40)
Continuity mistake: When Rodney Dangerfield bets the judge $1,000 that he will miss the putt, Lacey's legs switch from being spread to being closed and back again.
Continuity mistake: When Ty walks into the Judge in the golf club changing room, in the first shot of Ty his head is up while he is fixing his button, but in the following shot he is now fixing his tie. (00:16:15)
Continuity mistake: During the Big Match scene, Al's character is seen sweating profusely, seemingly in an instant.
Continuity mistake: When Al is pointing out the condos he owns, he has a heart-shaped sweat stain on his shirt. A few moments later, when he bets that the judge will miss the put, the stain is gone. (00:25:30 - 00:26:45)
Factual error: In the very beginning (2nd scene) just after Danny (the Caddy) eats and then jumps down from the backside of his house and hops on his bike to head to work, look in the background behind him and at about the 5th house or so he passes you will see a classic palm tree in the front yard. The movie takes place in Nebraska (which doesn't have any palm trees of course).
Continuity mistake: When Judge is finishing off his day on the golf course, just before Czervick says "Bet you thousand bucks you miss that putt," the guy holding the hole's flag is leaning his shoulder on it, but in the following shot he has it outstretched. (00:25:35)
Continuity mistake: When the Judge is playing golf and Al Czervik drives a golf ball right into Judge's crotch, when the golf ball hits, the Judge puts both hands to the crotch in agony, but in the following shot only his right hand is on the crotch area. (00:21:05)
Factual error: When Judge Smails lectures Danny in his office after catching him with his niece, he states that he has sentenced boys younger than Danny to the gas chamber. Nebraska has never used the gas chamber for capital punishment.
Suggested correction: Does Judge Smalls say the state where he does so?
Audio problem: When Al Czervik pays the band leader to play something hot, they stop playing slow music and a disco song starts up. The disco song is obviously the original studio recording and not the clubhouse band. The female vocal accompaniments from the recording can be heard, but there were no female vocalists with the clubhouse band. (00:36:10)
Continuity mistake: When Maggie and Danny are in her room about to make love, her shirt is down and you can see something under it. The scene changes to a wider shot and her main shirt is further up again.
Continuity mistake: When Danny and Tony get ready to fight, Tony has his hands up in "fighting position." When his brother lands on Danny's back, Tony drops his hands to his side. The next shot where there is a close-up of Tony, he has his hands up in the "fighting position" again.
Continuity mistake: The little boy that is identified as a nephew is sitting right of the father at the beginning. He disappears when Danny puts money in the jar and we can see the father. His chair is even empty.
Revealing mistake: No one dressed as Tony D'Annunzio could swing a golf club, and the "swing" he does produce wouldn't send a ball very far.
Factual error: In the ending credits where the music used in the film is listed, Neal Schon's first name is misspelled "Neil".
