Elf (2003)

Elf picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Andy Richter and his writing accomplice are meeting with James Caan for the first time, there's a shot from behind the writers, facing James Caan. In this shot, the boom mike is visible at the top of the screen at least twice. It then returns, bobbing up and down, when this same shot is used a few seconds later.

Correction: This is probably due to an error by the projectionist at the theatre, as it is not visible on the DVD release.

Correction: We can assume that Walt is lip syncing in the play, so that would make it a character mistake.

Gods and Generals picture

Corrected entry: When Lucy tells her mother that their house is still standing, her mother hugs her and wishes for the well being of Martha and her children. Lucy responds with, "But oh Mother..." Only the voice that says, "But oh Mother" is definitely not her own and is overdubbed. Matter of fact, it sounds a lot like a man's voice. (On Disc 2). (00:19:40)

BillyBlake

Correction: Nonsense. The voice you hear is somewhat deep and dark, but that's just because it's laden with grief. It's definitely Lucy's own voice.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre picture

Corrected entry: This movie, Norman Bates in "Psycho", and Buffalo Bill in "Silence of the Lambs", were all based on one man, Eddie Gein. He was from Plainfield, Wisconsin (USA), and was caught November 17, 1957. He confessed to killing 2 women, robbing 8 graves, and was found guilty. It was later overturned "by reason of insanity". He was sentenced to an asylum where he died of cancer.

Correction: These characters were based on a combanation of people. Gein was one of them but not the only one.

The Core picture

Corrected entry: The geodes occurring in the mantle during the film are impossible in two ways. Firstly, there are no gaps at those depths. The pressure is approximately 3.5 million times surface pressure, and it is not feasible that such structures could form, let alone be maintained. Secondly, the crystals inside the geodes are described as amethysts. Amethysts are a purple variety of quartz, and as any undergrad geology student could tell you, there is no quartz in the mantle, it simply is not stable at such high temperatures.

Correction: That is why the geologists and physicists were so surprised. They didn't think it was possible either, which is another reason why the computer was never programmed to see "nothing" in the first place.

Darkness Falls picture

Corrected entry: Throughout the scene when Larry and Kyle are in the car, Larry refers to Kyle as Conner. You can even hear him scream Conner as he's being lifted into the air by the Tooth Fairy.

Correction: Larry's accent only makes it sound as if "Connor" is being said instead of "Kyle", especially when Larry screams while being dragged up a tree by an invisible being after a car wreck.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl picture

Corrected entry: When Elizabeth is dining with Barbossa she is first formally eating and cutting her food. When Barbossa says that she must be hungry, Elizabeth puts down the knife. When she picks it up again before stabbing Barbossa, the knife is clean with no sign of use even though she didn't wipe it.

Correction: This isn't necessarily impossible. I've done it myself just this past month at Thanksgiving, and seen it done. Also, it could simply be the angle of the knife to the light- we simply dont see any stains on it, if there are any.

American Wedding picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Stifler has "fed" the ring to the dog he is waiting for the dog which swallowed it to go to the toilet to pass it through. When the dog has done this he takes the case from the chocolate cake he is eating to pick up the dogs 'business' and the cake is then lying face down on his plate in the next shot the cake is then the right way up again. (01:04:55)

Correction: The only item visible on the plate after he tips the cake over is the grapes. You can't see the cake.

X-Men 2 picture

Corrected entry: When the X-Mansion is being attacked, Wolverine jumps off the stairs onto two soldiers and throws them backwards with his claws. The soldiers are level with his wrists as they begin flying back. If they had been thrown in such a way, they would have followed the same path through the air as Wolverine's claws. (00:44:10)

Correction: There are four soldiers not two. The first two he drops on and the second pair he stabs low and flips them backwards with a turn of his arm.

The Matrix Revolutions picture

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Trinity, Morpheus and Seraph are fighting the doorman at the Merovingian's club, Trinity shoots one of the doorman at very close range, but from the back we see only two exit wounds. (00:14:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: The third shot has an effect, the lighting makes it very hard to see, though.

S Club Seeing Double picture

Corrected entry: Bradley tells Jon, Rachel and Hannah to meet the others at 'Mulholland Outlook'. During the press conference, Jon refers to it as 'Mulholland Lookout'. (00:56:20)

Correction: Clearly a character's mistake - Jon just misremembered, or was nervous and mixed up his words.

S.W.A.T. picture

Corrected entry: When the Lear jet is starting to take off from the bridge, the pilot selects the landing gear down. He would have put them down before landing.

Correction: Yes, that's correct. But, a landing gear lever has 3 positions; UP, OFF (in the middle) and DOWN. Standard procedure when shutting down an airplane is to put the gear lever to OFF, so when they turned the plane around and started it up again they had to go through the "Before takeoff checklist" before taking off which says "Landing gear lever down". (Even when a pilot is in a hurry they will stick to the checklist/procedures or do it automaticaly due to the routine they do every day.).

The Last Samurai picture

Corrected entry: When all the "ninjas" are attacking the village after the big entertainment show, you see Algren sticking his sword through a ninja, so the end of it comes out on the other side of the ninja's bag. Then you see Algren drawing the sword back again, but the part on the other side doesn't move an inch.

don_corleone

Correction: Algren never pulls the sword out. The Ninja drops down dead with the sword still in his back.

Jeepers Creepers 2 picture

Corrected entry: When everyone runs from the school bus, there are about 20 students running into the field, but when we see them again there are only 4 survivors running from the school bus. It is never explained what happened to the rest of the students.

Correction: There is a quick aerial shot of the Creeper flying over the field, where you see a large group of the students running right before he takes Scotty. They were trying to reach a farmhouse they figured was nearby. It already killed some of the people it picked out and most of the remaining ones were in the group it turned its attention to (Bucky was the only one it selected that stayed close to the bus), so it isn't much of a stretch to believe that it may have decided to disregard the larger group and they made it to safety since it was more interested in the smaller group.

The Hunted picture

Corrected entry: Hallam escapes into a huge construction site. The bulldozers and concrete trucks indicate that foundation work has just started. When Bonham climbs down a stepladder he gets into a movie-typical industrial basement with pipes and valves where the utilities are still connected, as we can tell from the burning lights and the stereotype steam leaks. (00:59:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: Bonham climbs down into the excavated construction site, but most of the scene occurs in an adjacent utility area. The construction site was merely an entrance into the utility tunnels. The chase covers a lot of ground, and the construction foreman mentions that the tunnels extend for a long distance.

The Hebrew Hammer picture

Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, the Hebrew Hammer is portrayed to be extremely religious. However, when he is in bed with Esther, he has many tattoos. Why would this be if Judaism prohibits tattoos?

Dandude776 1

Correction: I don't think his religiousness should to be taken too seriously - he wouldn't even have touched Esther (let alone slept with her), if he was that relious. Furthermore, at one point in the movie, he puts on tefillin (phylactries) and says, "I don't know what to say," another indication that he's not that religious.

21 grams picture

Corrected entry: As Marianne and the Reverend drive past the large accident scene, shots on Marianne's face show her emoting and acting, but shots on the Reverend show that she is rather passive and calmly looking forward. (00:26:25)

Phoenix

Correction: He probably wasn't watching the scene, because he was driving the car, so, at least in my personal experience, not all drivers like to be looking at any other thing than the street ahead of them as driving (except for the mirrors), and taking your sight to something as an accident usually isn't such a good idea. He might also not see it, because he might not want to see it, he probably just made Marianne the favor, and he might be disgusted or perturbed by the scene, preferring not to watch it.

Brother Bear picture

Corrected entry: In the ice cave, how did the rope around Kenai's ankle get tied to the rock? It couldn't have tied itself around the rock.

Correction: Anyone who knows bears know that they have a tendancy to sleep in caves. A hunter could have known this and set the trap.

There's no time for any trap to be laid between scenes. The original question refers to the rope dragging behind Kenai as he walks away from Koda right after saying "see ya kid." We then see the rope has somehow wrapped around the rock. It's simply a continuity error.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World picture

Corrected entry: After the shot where Aubrey sees Hogg in the lifeboat, Hogg and the whalers climb up the starboard accommodation ladder. The starboard accommodation ladder was used for formal occasions; the larboard ladder when no ceremony was desired. (01:05:05)

Correction: Since these were obviously shipwrecked sailors, it's more than likely that Captain Aubrey (not to mention the crew of the Surprise) was not about to stand on ceremony in getting these weakened and dehydrated sailors onto the ship.
