Lost at Sea - S10-E4
Character mistake: During the interrogation of Petty Officer Sparks, JAG Officer Lieutenant Nora Patel says "Lieutenant Sparks has a right to legal counsel." (00:21:50)
Revealing mistake: During season 4 the same television clip of President Bush and VP Cheney disembarking Air Force One is used on the background television in the squad room. In some cases the clip is running and not in unison, on three of the televisions in the same scene from shot to shot.
Continuity mistake: During the scene where Gibbs chases Shariff into the railway station restroom, Gibbs' position on The Wall changes, his gun hand passes the corner of The Wall at least three times. Also as he starts to fall to the floor, the long shot from low angle close to the urinals shows Gibbs holding the gun with both hands and they are moving to his right, his left shoulder going into he wall. At the cut, the gun is in his right hand only and moving across his body to the left and his right shoulder is now going into The Wall. The shot cuts to Shariff, who has moved about a foot to his right during the cut, then cuts back to both Gibbs and Shariff, Shariff has returned to his original position and the gun has moved to Gibbs left hand, although we don't really see the gun until he falls and Shariff picks it up, thus ruling out the possibility of the gun being dropped before he falls. (We do hear the gun hit the floor as he falls.) (00:40:10)
Continuity mistake: When Sharif calls Gibbs to gloat, when Sharif ends the call, the shot cuts to Gibbs closing his cell phone, shot cuts to McGee and Col. Mann, when it cuts back to Gibbs, he is closing his phone again. We can even hear the phone close both times. (00:33:10)
Continuity mistake: During the scene where Tim and sister Sarah are working on the past evening's timeline, Sarah's clothes lying on the counter change position between the wide shots and the close-ups. Also the plastic her shoes are sitting on in the wide shots disappears in the close-up when she removes them and when she picks up the baggie of money. The screen shot of the locations in the time line also change locations. The 9:30 and 10:00 individual locations show up in the Georgetown University area but when they zoom out to show all three locations, the two time location now show the George Washington University, Foggy Bottom area of D. C., and it shows Tim's residence as being in Arlington National Cemetery. (00:06:35 - 00:07:50)
Factual error: During the sequence where Bankston and Lee are supposed to make the dead drop of Domino, Adams Tavern, the location of the drop, is shown to be at 2177 Pimmit Drive in Woodbridge Va. The map that is showing the location is geographically correct, but "Pimmit Drive" is actually Horner Road. Also once the action leaves the bar, Lee and Bankston hijack a bus that reads "District Transit Authority". Since they are in Woodbridge, the bus service would be OmniLink. (00:30:20 - 00:38:15)
Continuity mistake: During the scene where Lee is being guarded by Tim and Tiny in the conference room, the coffee pots, stir sticks, cups and sugar bowls behind Lee change positions throughout the scene. (00:17:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Tony and Ziva discover the dead body in Amanda's hiding place the dead body's extended arm is lying on the rug on the floor, and is left that way when Gibbs tell them to leave, yet in the next scene when Ducky shows Gibbs a picture of the dead body, the rug beneath the extended arm has disappeared. (00:13:45)
Continuity mistake: When Tony and Ziva discover the hiding place of Amanda, the position of the dead body's extended hand and the puddle of blood change. (00:13:40)
Agent Afloat - S6-E2
Continuity mistake: During the investigation of the dead wife's crime scene, the arms of the corpse change position from shot to shot throughout the scene, including a moment where the corpse's arms are crossed, then in the next shot Ducky is shown crossing her arms. Ducky is also shown crossing the same arm twice, and the guitar control also changes direction and position with respect to the body. (00:03:20 - 00:05:30)
Under Covers - S3-E8
Continuity mistake: In S1 E15 "Enigma", about 30 minutes in, Gibbs takes out his flask and the engraving is "For Good Luck, Your Loving" with the bullet on it. At the end of this episode it's engraved with "Jethro, For Good Luck Love Shannon and Kelly".
You Better Watch Out - S10-E10
Continuity mistake: When Tony's dad arrives at the NCIS office for Christmas, he is met at the elevator by Ziva. He is holding a Christmas present (which looks like a bouquet of flowers) with the 'red' end up. As the camera angle changes, he is now holding it 'red' side down. (00:28:25)
Continuity mistake: When Tony & Ziva meet their contact in Naples, we see a local cop walking down the background behind them, and passing a walkway to the boat. Seconds later, as the camera changes view, we see that cop about 30 feet back, going the same way.
Continuity mistake: The pill bottle the agents recovered from the house has the Doctor's name "Fleming" to search for. But when McGee searches the NCIS system, he spells the name "Flemming" and gets his results. As well, the scrip sheets for Dr. Flemming archived on the computer, contain several identification numbers - DEA (AJ0000000000), Batch (00000001) & License (C00000.) - not real numbers - so the prop master didn't even try to fake any of them. Revealing mistake: Part 1 - As Tony eats his donut, and spills the jelly on his shirt, it's clear that (the actor) is moving his body to make that 'accident' happen as scripted. As the jelly begins to leak out, he doesn't move; because it doesn't fall as expected, he jerks suddenly, to make the jelly fall on his shirt. He stops moving, 'shocked' at this, holding the donut with both hands. Part 2 - The camera angle changes to 'behind' him, and he is only holding the donut with one hand. Part 3 - He then grabs at a napkin (just out of frame) to clean it off; the camera cuts to Ziva briefly, then back to Tony, who does not have any napkin. (00:24:55)
Visible crew/equipment: After Ducky tells Gibbs he has little chance of ID'ing the burnt body, as Gibbs leaves Autopsy, two crewmen and a camera are visible reflected in the metallic door frame. (00:35:20)
See No Evil - S2-E1
Continuity mistake: When Gibbs leads Tony and Kate to MTAC, Tony extends his arm in a "ladies first" gesture to let Kate go ahead of him, then drops his arm to his side. In the next shot, his arm is extended again and he drops it a second time. (00:16:30)
Continuity mistake: When Abby offers Palmer a sip of her Caf-POW!, after he helps determine how their victim was poisoned, the cup switches hands between shots. (00:26:20)
Continuity mistake: When Ducky and Palmer determine that LCPL Korby was frozen to death, Ducky's grip on his forceps changes between shots. (00:06:15)
Continuity mistake: When Vance is packing up to leave at the end of the episode, he opens a red folder on his desk. When Jenny enters the office a moment later, the folder is instantly on top of Vance's briefcase. (00:41:45)
Chosen answer: It is never stated, however she must have been there several years if she is on presidential detail.
