Continuity mistake: When Gibbs and McGee are alone in the kitchen, in the closeups of McGee when he raises his left hand (such as when he takes the watch from Gibbs) he is not wearing a ring, but in the consecutive shots of the duo McGee is wearing a ring on his left hand (also odd, since it looks like McGee's wedding band). Continuity mistake: During their first day's investigation of the double homicide Tony is wearing a grey suit, white shirt, and burgundy tie. On the second day, while Tony is wearing a dark suit, light blue shirt and dark blue tie, when Gibbs tells Tony to go see what Ducky wants in Autopsy, Tony is back to wearing what he wore on their first day. Then at Tobett's house, Tony is again wearing the light blue shirt and dark blue tie. (00:04:30 - 00:31:00)
Visible crew/equipment: While Gibbs is at the diner with Dr. Taft and his wife he gets a call from Ellie, and when it cuts to the overhead shot of Gibbs, Ellie, and Tony walking toward each other, on the ground we can see the reddish chalk mark (for Gibbs) and two white chalk T-marks (for Tony and Ellie) where the three actors meet. Visible crew/equipment: When "Nanook" stands beside his desk while he tells Tony and Ellie about Delilah's mother, there's a blue T-mark on the floor by McGee's feet. (00:03:05)
Revealing mistake: While Ellie and George are in the attic, Ellie uses her laptop to access contact info and gets Richard Doogan's DOD military service record. There's a closeup of the laptop screen as she begins to read aloud, but the problem is part of the paragraph reads, "And he's only a few hours away in Kansas..." and especially "I need to update Gibbs" which are Ellie's lines in the dialogue with her brother. Visible crew/equipment: After Jimmy and Tony's chat, when Tony heads to the elevator Jimmy mutters that he hates being out of the loop. As O'Rourke turns to face Borin the actor's microphone has slipped out from under his shirt, between the buttons. Visible crew/equipment: While Gibbs and Tony are in the galley interrogating the two members of the crew because they worked closely with Commander Reynolds, when Gibbs asks them if the gun looks familia, the boom mic dips into view at the top of the screen. (00:32:40)
Visible crew/equipment: When Gibbs tells Gail Walsh that they're keeping Jerry at NCIS, Gail replies, "Only on the condition that you keep me apprised of any new information," and in the next shot from behind Gail, a crew member (presumably the boom operator) wearing a black shirt and white pants is visible at the left side of the screen. Visible crew/equipment: During the exterior scenes in Arizona, with Sheriff Boyd, Gibbs, and Tony, in some shots either a hidden lavalier microphone or transmitter is visible. One example, when Dina fires her weapon Gibbs dismounts his horse, and his hidden transmitter is briefly seen at his back. Another example, while Dina tells Gibbs and Tony that her doctor ran blood tests, Sheriff Boyd's mic is visible under his shirt by the buttons, and so on. (00:35:30)
Visible crew/equipment: When Gibbs informs Dina Risi of Patterson's death, it then cuts to Dina as she tells them she mixes her own pigments, and in the next shot facing Dina, the wheel base of filming equipment is visible on the right side of the screen (non-existent in overhead long shots).
