Continuity mistake: When Gibbs and McGee are alone in the kitchen, in the closeups of McGee when he raises his left hand (such as when he takes the watch from Gibbs) he is not wearing a ring, but in the consecutive shots of the duo McGee is wearing a ring on his left hand (also odd, since it looks like McGee's wedding band). Continuity mistake: Gibbs holds up his father's WW2 era Hamilton watch and gives it to McGee. While McGee holds the watch to read the engraving on the caseback, the buckle strap is in McGee's right hand. In the closeup of the caseback the crown is at the bottom (which would mean the buckle strap is in McGee's left hand), but in the two shots facing McGee the crown is at the top (which would also make the engraving upside down while McGee reads it). Revealing mistake: When Gibbs' flip phone started ringing, and he flipped it open to answer it, for the brief second, in the closeup shot of the flip phone, the screen on the phone says "No Service" despite receiving an incoming call.

Factual error: While investigating a Marine's murder, the team uncovers a labyrinth of live-streaming spy cameras hidden in the rooms of a Virginia motel. They show an attic in a motel room with cameras in multiple vents, the problem is that there are no air duct tubes which those cameras should have been mounted in. With no duct work you have no heat or no A/C, all you get is dust.
Factual error: The X-ray of Joe's arm is of someone much younger, with open epiphyseal growth plates, not something seen in adults.
Visible crew/equipment: When Gibbs and Ellie are at Demint's property gate his daughter drives up, and when Margot gets out of her car the two red and pink T-marks (plastic type) are visible on the ground by Ellie's feet. (00:12:45)
Continuity mistake: While Bishop and Torres are locked in the two jail cells, Bishop knocks out the glass from her barred window, but when Torres breaks the old toilet and says, "I really think we're stuck in here," Bishop's cell window glass is perfectly intact - we can see the reflection of all the bars. Revealing mistake: When the guy tied to the chair falls over, he uses his right arm to break his fall, then places it behind his back again after he lands.
Chosen answer: "Policing your brass", means to pick up your expended shell casings, after firing your rifle, or pistol.
