NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service

Forced Entry - S2-E9

Visible crew/equipment: After Tony gives McGee the coffee belonging to Gibbs, when it cuts to inside Laura Rowans' house, just as the Sergeant tells Gibbs, "The perp broke in, tried to rape her, she shot him," the boom operator (wearing a blue shirt) holding the boom pole is reflected on the framed picture's glass. He's visible again when Caitlin and McGee walk in. (00:02:30)

Forced Entry - S2-E9

Continuity mistake: While Caitlin and Tony are at the hospital in Jeremy Davison's room, when Michelle walks in there are two closeups of Jeremy handcuffed to the bed rail. In the first closeup the handcuff is around his wrist with the double bar facing up, but in the second closeup as Caitlin uncuffs him it's the opposite way, with the single bar facing up. (00:27:55)

Chained - S2-E10

Visible crew/equipment: After Caitlin shrieks and tells Abby that Gibbs is driving, Abby replies that she's saying a prayer in many languages. It then cuts to a shot of the car Tony's driving, and the reflection of the camera comes into view on Tony's window as the filming vehicle pulls alongside. It's visible again in a following shot. Black Water - S2-E11

Continuity mistake: At the TV studio, Gibbs shows his ID to the guard and the photocard is showing. Camera cuts and now he is showing the badge. Also the holder has gone from horizontal (for the card) to vertical (for the badge). (00:25:00)

Doppelgänger - S2-E12

Continuity mistake: When Aaron Wright lights his cigarette in the NCIS elevator, he takes it out of his mouth to blow out a puff of smoke. His arm remains down by his side, but in the next shot his cigarette is instantly up in his mouth. (00:29:10)

Doppelgänger - S2-E12

Factual error: Obviously written to make the story interesting, but Gibbs says that the first criminal caught by DNA was a Mafia don in Sicily. Well as anyone interested in forensics knows it was Colin Pitchfork in England.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: We can see him, on camera, constantly changing his grip because it's heavy and he's trying to hold it.

Yes he changes his grip, but, in some instant cuts, such as the ones shown above, his grip changes instantly.

Witness - S2-E14

Visible crew/equipment: When Dr. Mallard is talking to Mr. Palmer about a "White Elephant", you can briefly see crew members on the stainless steel door on the left of the screen. They are blurry, but distinguishable. (00:23:55)

Caught on Tape - S2-E15

Revealing mistake: Kate pulls the record up on the screen near the start and there is some writing on the file. This is a copy of the file she has in her hands. However the writing on the file as seen on the screen is Kate's next few lines. (00:09:30)

Yankee White - S1-E1

Gibbs: I heard you quit, Agent Todd.
Kate Todd: Happy news travels fast. Yes, I resigned. It was the right thing to do.
Gibbs: Yep. Pull that crap at NCIS, I won't give you a chance to resign.
Kate Todd: Is that a job offer?

Show generally

Question: I finally saw the 2-part episode from the show JAG. Does anyone know what happened to Viv Blackadder? I don't recall hearing anyone ever mention the name on NCIS.

Answer: I hadn't seen the backdoor pilots yet but while it wasn't explicitly stated, at least onscreen, I heard somewhere Vivian got either fired from NCIS due to jeopardizing a case, got resigned from the agency, or transferred to the FBI.

Answer: I dont believe it is ever mentioned, but like most pilot episodes the characters are often changed, replaced or even removed in this case.
