Other mistake: When Floyd tells Barney that he doesn't want to put Barney's campaign poster in the barbershop window because it spoils the decor, the reflection we see in the mirror behind Floyd is the church's front door and steps. This makes no sense at all because the reflection should be whatever is to the right of Floyd's, but the church is the opposite way - to the left, past the courthouse. The view in the mirror is a painted backdrop, but it's still quite wrong.Super Grover
Other mistake: When Andy, Barney, and Opie switch Aunt Bee's kerosene tasting pickles with the store bought pickles during 'operation pickle switch', they put the store pickles in Aunt Bee's mason jars with silver lids and Aunt Bee's pickles in the store's jars with labels and white lids. Their plan is to give away the store jars with Bee's pickles inside, and we see Barney placing the last of the store jars into his bag, but when Barney stops the driver to give him his safe driving award, we see Barney giving away the mason jars with silver lids even though it's the store jars he should be getting rid of.Super Grover
Other mistake: Aunt Bee refers to losing the pickle contest 10 years in a row (which Clara corrects to 11, leading us to believe they have been in the same competition), but this is her 2nd year in Mayberry, having not seen Andy for years in her season 1 intro as the "new housekeeper", (or Opie - ever) in season 1.
Other mistake: When Barney, Thelma Lou, Helen, and Andy are in the squad car talking about getting dinner, there's black tape on the chrome trim of the triangular vent window - presumably to prevent the camera/crew's reflections; and the vent window is shut in wide shots, but open in the closeup - also to prevent reflections.Super Grover
Other mistake: In the scenes outside the grocery store with Mr. Doakes, there are a couple dozen cereal boxes in the display windows - Post Grape Nuts, Post Grape Nuts Flakes, Post Alpha Bits, etc., and all the boxes have part of their names covered, such as "Rap Ut." It's pretty funny considering that TAGS cast did commercials for Post Grape Nuts, and other Post foods.Super Grover
Other mistake: In this episode (aired Sep. '64) Barney tells Andy that 5 years ago on May 16 (1959) he joined the sheriff's office, and later they all have a surprise party for Barney. However, in 4x11 "Citizen's Arrest" (aired Dec. '63) Andy tells Barney that he found, "The custody receipt for the first revolver I issued you... August, 1953... 10 years ago last month since I swore you in." Andy even mentions having a party with a cake that has 10 candles on it.Super Grover
Other mistake: During the scenes at Elmo's shop, where Aunt Bee's pictures are developed, it's obvious that this is actually Emmett's Fix-It Shop. We can see the window of the shop next door through Elmo's doorway, and recognize it as the store next door to Emmett's shop which has "Furniture, New and Used" on its front window.Super Grover
Other mistake: Twice during the episode the actor who plays Floyd is replaced by his body double. The first time is when Floyd's driving to and away from Wally's station in the earlier scene, and the second is later, when Aunt Bee leaves Floyd's shop and we see Floyd stand up through the window.Super Grover
Other mistake: Right before Aunt Bee wins the five dollar prize at Wally's station she talks about how she's never won anything, not even the church raffle, and right after she wins she excitedly waves the five dollar bill and says, "I've never won anything before in my life!" However, in season 6 episode "Aunt Bee on TV" the man from the IRS stated that Aunt Bee had won $4,850 worth of prizes on the game show, and even though she sold most of her prizes she kept two of them. So her statement makes no sense even for Aunt Bee.Super Grover
Other mistake: At the end of the ceremony, when Aunt Bee finally unveils the life-size statue of Seth Taylor the prop jiggles (presumably it's plastic) back and forth on the base, even though we know it's carved out of a block of granite (stated by Howard earlier in the episode) by a stonemason. (00:05:00 - 00:22:55)Super Grover
Other mistake: At the cabin, when Andy and Alice are fixing breakfast at the kitchen counter, note the cereal box's brand name is covered (presumably painted), which is still recognizable as "Post Toasties." (Andy Griffith even did commercials for this specific cereal). (00:20:00)Super Grover
Other mistake: After Andy and Barney hear on the radio that another supermarket has been robbed they head over there, and in the shots at the supermarket note that many of the products on the shelves have their brand names covered with tape or scribbled over. For example, boxes of "Mrs. Cubbison's" stuffing/dressing and "Sunshine Cheez-It" are covered with tape. (00:16:40)Super Grover
Other mistake: Twice during the episode there's a brick wall adjacent to the grocery store which should not be there. First when Clara walks down the street toward Floyd, then later when Andy and Opie also walk down the street toward Floyd. (Shot in the studio not backlot). (00:02:05 - 00:16:55)Super Grover
Other mistake: The end credits list actor Burt Mustin as playing a character named "Jud", but while Andy and the rest are waiting for Howard to show up for practice, Andy, Wally, and Aunt Bee all use Burt Mustin's real name "Burt" instead of his character's name, "Jud." Then during the rest of the episode Andy still calls him "Burt" a few more times. (00:02:00)Super Grover
Other mistake: The end credits list actor Burt Mustin as playing a character named "Jud", but after Howard's introduction to everyone in the lodge, when Andy and Howard are saying goodbye to all the members, Andy says, "See ya, Burt" to actor Burt Mustin. Then at the start of the voting scene even the subtitles read "Burt" instead of "Jud." (00:09:15 - 00:12:55)Super Grover
