The Drop In - S2-E12
Factual error: Leo asks how long it will be before the missile system being tested will hit the target, and is told "two minutes, ten seconds". He decides the President should see it, and leaves to fetch him. But doing so results in them both arriving back In the Room exactly 3 minutes later. 7 seconds after that, they are told there are still 50 seconds to impact (but it should have occurred 57 seconds ago). After the 50 seconds pass, Leo states the impact will occur in 20 more seconds, and the moment of expected impact does pass at that time. In all, 4 minutes, 16 seconds pass from when "2 minutes, 10 seconds" to impact was announced. (00:01:30)
The Stackhouse Filibuster - S2-E17
Continuity mistake: When Josh first sits down at his computer, there are about 3 or 4 lines already typed in the email on the screen, but a few seconds later that has almost doubled. Even more inexplicably, when he finally starts 'typing' at about 28:05, he presses about 10-15 keys but two whole paragraphs pop up. This is not due to pasting copied text, as his hands are nowhere near the Control keys. Finally, at about 28:25 when Donna leaves, he turns back to a screen which is now back to the 3-4 lines. A less-detailed version of this has already been submitted, but I believe mine is clearer (and that other one has not been approved). :). (00:27:45)
Continuity mistake: As the President leads the staff out of the Oval Office, the rear angle shot shows Kate Harper is ahead of Annabeth Schott. But the angle reverses to show them emerging from the office as Kate is coming around Annabeth's right side to pass her. (00:40:00)
Continuity mistake: The President is watching Dial M for Murder with the staff and his daughter Ellie. In the beginning of the scene, the President is sitting behind Ellie and there is no empty chair next to her. Then he leaves the room. When he returns, his chair is suddenly placed next to Ellie.
Suggested correction: There was an empty chair next to her.
Factual error: When describing the location of the "oil refinery" / missile silo, it is said to be in the Oblast Region of Russia. Clearly, some intern was asked to Google Russian Regions and accidentally came back with the Russian word FOR region. It's like saying something was in State State or County County. Also, in the same episode, Bartlett berates the Russian ambassador about people being crazy in Minsk...which is in Belarus.
Continuity mistake: The fictional nation of Qumar, which maps have shown to be part of real-life Pakistan, has been the subject of many earlier episodes. When the generals are looking at a map of central Asia in preparation for the Kazakhstan deployment, Qumar is not on the map.
A Proportional Response - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: The president is snapping at everyone while looking for his glasses. Newcomer Charlie addresses Bartlet, who turns and takes off CJ's glasses he'd been trying on. Everybody freezes in surprise at Charlie's interruption, including Bartlet who can be seen holding the glasses away from his body. In the immediate next shot, Bartlet can be seen on the monitor still wearing CJ's glasses, and then interrupts Charlie while removing the glasses once more. (00:33:20)
Continuity mistake: When Josh and Leo are discussing Leo's alcoholism Josh refers to Leo as being "Boston Irish-Catholic" but in several other episodes it's mentioned that Leo is from and grew up in Chicago.
H. Con-172 - S3-E11
Factual error: When Leo is talking with Jordan about why he doesn't want the President to be censured, he states that this would be the first time a President was censured. This is untrue. Both Andrew Jackson and James Buchanan were censured by Congress (although Jackson's censure was later expunged). (00:11:25)
Let Bartlet Be Bartlet - S1-E19
Continuity mistake: When CJ leaves Toby's office and Josh sits town on the couch next to Toby she closes the door as she walks out and we can hear it close. But the camera switches to a different angle as Josh sits down and the door frame is still in picture and is open as we hear the sound of it closing the door frame is still open. (00:20:40)
Evidence of Things Not Seen - S4-E20
Continuity mistake: Will Bailey is wearing a military uniform for the only time in the show (as it is revealed he is a reservist Lieutenant in the USAF). On his uniform shirt there are three medal ribbons-bars. Those ribbon-bars (worn in the correct order from left to right) are as follows: 1. The Air Force Organisational Excellence Award Ribbon 2. The National Defence Service Medal Ribbon 3. The Air Force Training Ribbon. After the shooting incident outside the Press Briefing Room (where gunshots hit one of the windows), Lt. Will Bailey can be seen wearing his three ribbon-bars (incorrect) in the reverse order. Then following on in the two subsequent scenes Will's medal ribbons-bars are back in the correct order. (00:08:05 - 00:16:15)
Continuity mistake: When Josh tells Lou that women should support Republicans, we're on day two, and the scene that comes up right after that is at the White House when Will is about to give another press conference, but if you look at it, Will, C.J., Margaret and the press are all wearing different clothes, even though it's the same day as the two previous press conferences Will gave.
The Ticket - S7-E1
Continuity mistake: This episode (after the library scene that takes place three years later), according to Josh, takes place four days after the National Democratic Convention shown in 6x22. Somehow in that 4 day period Josh's hair has grown considerably and Jed's hair has become much grayer.
In the Room - S6-E8
Continuity mistake: When the senator talks to Josh, he says he's going to investigate again why Margudian went to play golf with a navy helicopter, and Josh says that was a year ago, but Margudian was in the first/second season. That's a lot more than a year.
Continuity mistake: Leo and his daughter could not go to the theater because the former president had passed away. Later, when his daughter tells Leo that her mother is getting married, he says that he is only sorry he couldn't spend more time with his daughter, who thought they would have a good time the other night at the theater, but that they had a problem with the Middle East. It doesn't make sense, they didn't go to the theater because the former president passed away, not because of problems with the Middle East.
Abu el Banat - S5-E9
Continuity mistake: When the president is in the oval office with the first lady and they are called by Charlie to receive their daughter Liz, the office does not have a Christmas tree, however, in the next scene when he leaves his grandson to go with Leo and C.J. to the office, the Christmas tree is already set up.
7A WF 83429 - S5-E1
Continuity mistake: When Margaret walks into Leo's office and he sleeps, the screen says it's the sixteenth hour of Zoey's kidnapping. Leo asks Margaret what time it is and she says it's almost 5:00. At the beginning of the episode when Abby and the president talk at the residence, the president says it's 6:30, and the screen says it's the eighth hour of the kidnapping, then if we move another eight hours until we get to the sixteenth hour of the kidnapping, it would be 2:30, not 5:00.
The U.S. Poet Laureate - S3-E17
Character mistake: Jed Bartlett is talking to Leo and Hoynes. He says 'Calvary' instead of 'Cavalry' in the line "Tell Josh that General Pulaski was a Polish Brigadier General who vanquished the Russian and Prussian military then came to the colonies and commanded our cavalry during the American revolution."
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, while CJ is talking to Sam about getting lost on the way to work, the fishbowl gets turned around mid conversation - the elephant in the fishbowl suddenly faces the other way.
NSF Thurmont - S6-E1
Visible crew/equipment: When the motorcade is driving up you can see part of the film crew in the background.
